For all my wandering off into the lilacs and an oops, what challenge rules? first attempt
, I'm happy to present my actual, for reals, no seriously this time build for Ms. Crumplebottom's Hideaway
. Built with everything, so it needs everything. No CC, lots of Seasons and OFB. Lot checked with Clean Installer. Here's how the challenge goes!
Build a house for an uptight, curmudgeonly elder... Think floral print, potpourri, mothballs and cookie tins that only contain sewing equipment and despair.
Lot Size: 3x3 or smaller
1. No electrical items other than lighting, kitchen appliances and perhaps a phone.
2. Decorate in a fussy, dated fashion. Clean, modern lines are not appreciated.
"and cookie tins that only contain sewing equipment and despair"
-- I can not stop cackling >_<
Okay, here goes! After completely abandoning the ยง50K budget on my last lot, I decided to do a better job this time. Lot price, exactly ยง50,000
. I didn't potpourri the place up as much as I could have done, but I can't seem to prevent my own preferences getting in the way (gotta work on that as a builder). There are some Crumplebottom-y touches I think she would enjoy, though (if not approve of, because I'm not certain she does that. approve of things. I think the closest she gets is "take slightly less offense").
Modern electronics like televisions, stereos, and computers (or burglar alarms...) are barred by the challenge rules, but there is space available inside for all those things. Wall art is mostly left to your discretion, and I reeeeeeally wanted to do more with the surrounding yard, but dat budget cap, y'all. There are goodies and supplies for the compulsory cat, plus creativity and logic items for entertainment, and especially for the Crump, the home is also equipped with fortifying beverages and a telescope for
monitoring the neighbours.
Please, if you're interested, swing by here
for a much better tour of the house as posted for the challenge/theme!
