This user has the following games installed:

Sims 2, University, Nightlife, Open for Business, Seasons, Bon Voyage, Free Time, Apartment Life
Default Sim swims instead of walking
I have a relatively new disc installation of the Sims 2. So far I have 12 Hoods and 9 subhoods with 425 playable Sims. I mentioned in a previous post that Ross Humble had disappeared....present but invisible with no visible indication of where she is....but that is not my problem now....now I have a teen girl that swims to wherever she would normally walk then pop up out of the floor or ground, then back down to swim to another location if she wants to be somewhere else. When she gets to her desired location she stands upright and appears perfectly normal. How can I get her to stop swimming and start walking. She is living in a subhood of Pleasantview along with 14 other perfectly normal Sims. PS: Ross Humble is in an entirely different Hood.

Did you run all the patches? If not do that, they are hosted on MTS.

Have you tried forcing an error on her? Sometimes you get floor swimming if they haven't got out of the pool correctly.

I've had that problem occasionally and it can usually be fixed by using the Locomotor to "set default walk style". Try this and see if it helps in your game.

I tried the locomotor mentioned above but probably didn't know how to use it correctly, anyway it didn't work, so I used my own method which has always worked...I get the Sim into a swimming pool, alone, preferably at night. Then remove any ladders. Then use a hack to drain their energy and hunger and then just leave them alone. They eventually drown. Then use the Mortality Adjustor v2.9 (Sectional Insimenator), which is a relatively large tombstone....select Resurrection. It shows all dead Sims in alphabetical order, select your Sim and Poof, the tombstone goes up in a puff of smoke. You know it worked. Sometimes there will be indications that the Sim is alive but you can't select him or her, as if they are not on the lot, they will eventually show up. In this case I got her immediately in the house and she is perfectly normal...can't see any changes in her memory or anything else. Thanks for all the suggestions, it is nice to know there are people ready to help.

What normally works for me is to let the sim go swimming again for several hours then let the sim get out on there own.

Do not speed up time while this is going on.
