This user has the following games installed:

Sims 2, University, Nightlife, Open for Business, Pets, Seasons, Bon Voyage, Free Time, Apartment Life
Default Cooked meals disappearing in Sim's Hands!
I have recently purchased the latest two expansion packs -Open for Business and Pets- and I have discovered a gameplay problem. Everytime my sim cooks a meal, be it a single plate or a serving plate, once the food has been cooked it disappears. They cook it fine, and once its done being cooked, it appears on a plate in my sim's hands, and then it disappears. I downloaded the patch for OFB but it didn't help, and I tried using the MS2 guide for finding bugs, but it didn't help. It's frustrating because the only way my sims can eat now is if they order pizza or go out..or if I use maxmotives, but that takes all of the fun out of the game. I was wondering if anyone else has encountered this problem and how they solved it?

Do you have hacks and/or CC ? Have you patched all your games including OFB ?

Is this the tutorial you mentioned? : http://www.modthesims2.com/article.php?t=139718

If not, try to run the game with a clean sims2 folder as the article suggests.

You just got OFB...is it possible that the food you are preparing is going into their inventory?

Great thought Gnostic! I guess I never use the 'make single serving... and group meal.... options. LOL

Make sure you don't have this hack installed:

It conflicts with OFB in the way you described.

No problem.
We had quite a few cases of that happening when OFB first came out.
