How did you make the recolors share the base greyscale texture? I'm guessing you messed with the material definition, but I'd be really curious to know how you did it. :O

It's all done in the txmt. Make your recolor package as usual and delete the texture. Then you need to link the texture you do want to use.

Under the properties tab change the stdMatBaseTextureName.
Under the file list tab change the filename.

Then you use the Categorized Properties tab to recolor. Pixelhate explains what everything does in their tutorial here: http://modthesims.info/t/316260
