I never really liked the original park bench that came with the game, as I found it too ornate, and it didn't look like any actual bench I know. So I looked for a better basic, simple bench, but couldn't find any that fit the picture i had in mind (did you just say picky? =P)
Eventually I realised that Maxis mesh wasn't that bad, but it would look way better in my eye with some bits removed. So I gave it a good trim, slaved it to the original, and here it is, a very basic park bench!
This is not a default replacement: it will not override the original. It pulls its textures (and any recolors you may have) from it, and has the exact same functions, only the poly count is lower, and the design simplified. It can be found as "Less pieces of quiet park benck" under seating - miscellaneous for 300$
[Update - 20/06/16] Added matching chair upon request, it is found as "simple outdoor chair" under seating - misc for 150$.
Polygon Counts:
bench: 660 faces, 859 vertices (VS 1910 faces and 1906 vertices originally)
chair: 560 faces, 674 vertices
Additional Credits:
SimPE, Wings3D, UV Mapper
JWoods, Numenor, HugeLunatic, IgnorantBliss for their very helpful tutorials!
Menaceman44 for the inspiration, because I couldn't download his bench for TS2 and decided to make my own =P
Shastakiss' lovely Pirate wood recolors of the original bench, green one shown in the pictures

This is a new mesh, and means that it's a brand new self contained object that usually does not require a specific Pack (although this is possible depending on the type). It may have Recolours hosted on MTS - check below for more information.
