This one has been requested a lot and finally made it out of the work-in-progress folder!

For your history-loving sims, this Archaeology Career could be for them! This does not override any EA careers.

For this career to show up in game, you will need the Nraas Careers Mod.
This career was made with Patch 1.69 and is in English and supports translations in German, Russian, Italian, French, Dutch,Brazilian Portuguese, Spanish (Standard and Mexican) and Swedish. If you're interested in translating this career, there are instructions at the bottom of the page.

The career is based at the City Hall and has ten levels.
There are uniforms for this career. You can edit career outfits with Patch 1.31 and above, so I highly suggest using this feature to give your Sims a uniform of your own choosing.
There are 9 Opportunities available.
Your Sim may receive a bonus on Snowflake Day if Seasons is installed.
There is no boss for level 10 of the career.
There are three custom tones; Make Notes, which builds the Writing skill; Speak to Journalists, which builds the Charisma skill (for level 7+); and Photograph Artefacts, which builds the Photography skill (for level 4+).
You will need World Adventures for this career to work as intended.
This career has custom journals for the sim to read every night.

Join Text ~ The more you know about the past, the better prepared you are for the future. These famous words have never been more true and it's the job of an Archaeologist to explore the past and learn all they can to prepare everyone for the future of the Sims world.

The Levels

1. Volunteer ~ The local Archaeological Society is recruiting volunteers and {1.SimName} is one of them. After an important dig, the archaeologists are looking for helpers with sorting through the new finds and writing up the reports on them. There's no pay but if {1.SimFirstName} enjoys the work, he may find a job opportunity will arise.
8am ~ 5pm
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

2. Archaeology Student ~ {1.SimName}'s enthusiasm as a volunteer was noticed and an official from within the Society recommended him for the Archaeology course at the University. So as a student, you're going to be working and studying from within the Society and gaining your qualification. As long as {1.SimFirstName} studies the journals provided on the course, that degree won't be far away!
9am ~ 3pm
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

3. Carbon Dater ~ Having obtained his degree in Archaeology, {1.SimName}'s first job is to start dating the finds from the experienced archaeologists and feeding the information onto the system. In between jobs, there could be some opportunities to travel with the archaeologists to the locations to really see what the job entails. But all in good time!
6am ~ 2.30pm
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

4. Excavator ~ By keeping up to date with the latest archaeological finds, digs and seminars, {1.SimName} has finally been invited on his first official dig! Suddenly, all those summer months digging in the sand as a child make sense when {1.SimFirstName} is enjoying gently sweeping sand away from precious artefacts.
7am ~ 5.30pm
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday

5. Analyst ~ When the sand gets a bit too much, {1.SimName} can now retreat to the computer systems and assist with analysing the artefacts brought in from the digs. An extensive knowledge of artefacts and the history of his present location will be of the utmost importance if {1.SimFirstName} is going to show any degree of competency in this job.
7am ~ 4pm
Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

6. Tomb Explorer ~ With the experience {1.SimFirstName} has gained in his/her career to date, he/she has finally earned the prestige of becoming a Tomb Explorer. It's quite a dusty avenue but a profitable one. The Archaeological Society has learned of several presently undiscovered tombs across the globe and pretty soon, {1.SimFirstName} will be one of the first to enter them!
8am ~ 6.30pm
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

7. Excavation Site Manager ~ With several incredible discoveries to his/her name, {1.SimFirstName} has become the site manager for a series of important digs in a brand new location. The press will be very interested in the progress of these digs and {1.SimFirstName} had better brush up on his/her charisma skills because there's going to be some interviewing soon!
7am ~ 5.30pm
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday

8. Digital Reconstructor ~ When new artefacts are discovered, they're not always in the best state of repair. So when investigations take place, {1.SimFirstName} may be called upon to assist by reconstructing the artefacts using the most up-to-date technology available. This well-paid position is an incredible opportunity to delve into the ancient pasts and discover what the world really looked like 3,000 years ago.
9am ~ 4pm
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

9. Archaeology Professor ~ After a successful career at the front of the dig sites, {1.SimFirstName} has chosen to pass on his/her incredible knowledge to the keen and probing minds of the younger generation, those who are desperate to learn all they can about the skill and craftsmanship involved in a career in Archaeology. Enjoy those classroom years from the other side, Professor {1.SimLastName}!
9am ~ 2pm
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday

10. Head of Antiquities ~ The best position in the Archaeological Society is the Head of Antiquities and {1.SimFirstName} has acquired that position. Whenever there's a new archaeological discovery within the society, {1.SimFirstName}'s name will be expected to appear in the press releases and interviews. So he/she had better brush up on those speaking skills because he/she will be giving plenty of speeches! Enjoy!
9am ~ 3.30pm
Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
