Kaiseki or kaiseki-ryori is a traditional multi-course Japanese dinner. The term also refers to the collection of skills and techniques that allow the preparation of such meals and is analogous to Western haute cuisine. In the present day, kaiseki is a type of art form that balances the taste, texture, appearance, and colors of food. To this end, only fresh seasonal ingredients are used and are prepared in ways that aim to enhance their flavor. Local ingredients are often included as well. Finished dishes are carefully presented on plates that are chosen to enhance both the appearance and the seasonal theme of the meal. Dishes are beautifully arranged and garnished, often with real leaves and flowers, as well as edible garnishes designed to resemble natural plants and animals. (from Wikipedia)
This restaurant however, is in honor of Masaharu Morimoto, who was born in Hiroshima. Who was trained in traditional sushi and kaiseki cuisine in Hiroshima. The Iron Chef of Japanese cuisine, I would hope he would approve of my take on it in the Sims 4.
The restaurant itself sits on a 30x20 lot, elevated slightly in the traditional Japanese way of life. Two small seating areas, with fountains beneath Japanese Maple Trees flank the restaurants' entrance way. While lanterns hang merrily above, leading to the street. Up the center walkway is a Zen garden of sorts with stone lanterns lighting the way, small fountains embedded in the sand spitting water merrily towards the sky.
Once you reach the podium, the bar is off to the left hand side, the kitchen to the right. But what makes this restaurant unique are the small alcoves that hold either two twin tables to accommodate 4 , or one large table that accommodates four. Hanging banner flags adorn the open shoji paneled archways to give you a nearly private dining experience.
The staff, is dressed in traditional Japanese apparel. And no, you do not have to remove your shoes upon entry because that would not be sanitary. (even in a game, just ew.) The menu, also is traditionally (or almost all) traditionally Japanese, mainly sushi, ramen and onigiri.
