Thank you very much! I appreciate your response.
![]() I'm not sure if I understood right, but more pictures can be found by following the previous link to Photobucket slideshow... And yes, it was quite hard to finish the building after placing trees since I kept pressing Page Down while trying to see under the tree tops. I'm glad, I managed to fit the lot nicely to surrounding neighborhood forest and got the feeling of continuity. cheshirekat, I seem to have the same problem with taking pictures and uploading... Perhaps, I should upload this? edit: I won't be uploading this because file size is big due to all the custom content. On top of that, I should find out what are the main meshes for all of those and add them to the lot. It would take forever. |
I totally remodeled the "Harmonious Haven" house (comes with Seasons) for Jason O'Mackey and his family.
For some reason the camera didn't want to snap the pictures of the original, but some of you might recall it's the one with the pool in the living room, and the staircase smack in the middle of the kitchen. At any rate, here's the ground floor. The room there was a nursery for Jason and Lillian's daughter Roseanne (I always like nurseries on the ground floor, in case another Sim has to give a baby a bottle if Mom can't nurse them). I took the staircase out of the kitchen and put connecting stairs. ![]() Upstairs was a HUGE bedroom with just a bed. I split the huge bathroom into two decent-sized bathrooms and added a third bathroom, and split the huge bedroom into two. (And it's okay to put a toilet or sink directly next to the bathtub--as long as it's not at the end with the faucet. So long as your Sim has access to the faucet, it's okay.) ![]() I also redid the outside in a nice cream-colored siding and used the flagstone flooring outside, as I felt it was a better match. When I added the driveway, I was sure to level out the terrain between the driveway and the pathway--or else hear whining about it being too steep. ![]() |
Saturnfly I love Grandma's House - I can almost smell the hot coco and that jar of wierd peppermint lollies. :-

I'm not very good at landscaping so I tend to do a lot of patios. This is one of my better efforts. The house is a three bedroom (+ nursery), three bath with a gourmet kitchen and two story grand dining room. The gazebo is where the hot tub is, and there is a lattice covered bbq/dining patio.
If you want to see more of it including interiors visit my website. You can also see many of my other homes there. |

I thought I would share one more to give an idea of the kinds of houses I tend to build. This one is a very modern design and one of three modern concept homes I did side by side (you can see the backs of the others in one of the pics).
This is a 3 bedroom, 3 bath home. The upstairs could easily be redesigned to have more bedrooms by eliminating the game room, this is just what I did with it because I had a particular Simsfamily size in mind. The master suite includes a spa bath, and there is a home sauna off the upper deck. Outside reflects my tendency to fill yards with hardscaping and includes a large bar area next to the pool for entertaining. Essentially an open concept, the most unique feature is a split level main living area with a raised home theater space and the more formal living area open to the kitchen and dining room. You can see more pictures of this house and others I have built on my website |
Oh my gosh, these houses are gorgeous!
![]() Now I want to remodel some Maxis houses. xD |
I wanted to make an intrincate, creepy victorian mansion, with lots of rooms and stuff (to make secret passageways and confusing, doorless places!) It does serve that purpose, but I just don't get the style itself.
![]() And I can't get a nice picture of the entire thing. The neighborhood is still under construction. My final veredict is "meh, could have gone worse". It does have a quite cool conservatory on the other side, though... |
I made over this maxis apartment block to better match a new neighborhood. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be able to play it. Some rooms of the one apartment I've played are marked as not part of the apartment, for some reason. Maybe it's because I changed some of the doors? I just don't understand what may be causing it.

Did you, by any chance, put down any of the "Great Divide" fences, the really low ones that are like room dividers? I use those a lot because I like a clean dividing line between areas of, say, carpet and tile, like real-life thresholds. I discovered, to my disappointment, that if you use those fences (Or, I imagine, any fence) inside of an apartment, it seems to mark interior areas of the apartment as "common area," even though it's inside an apartment, "behind" an apartment door. When that happened, I couldn't use, for instance, the phone in the kitchen because it was in a "common area." So, I had to move out the Sims I'd moved in, change the zoning back to residential, remove the fences, then change the zoning back to apartments, and then everything worked fine. That's the only similar issue I've run across, so I thought I'd throw it out there. That's a lovely remake of my favorite Maxis apartment building; it'd be a shame not to use it. I love the roof you put on it. As for me...Been doing a lot of playing, not a lot of building, I'm afraid. So, no pics from me this time. ![]() |
Thankyou, I really love that apartment building too. I tried to make it match the "gritty" feeling and textures of the neighborhood.
I didn't use the dividers (I rarely have), though I discovered and fixed the problem. I had changed a couple of double-door archways to put custom ones, and that seemed to mark everything inside the room as not part of the apartment. I changed the arches back, and the apartment is now working well. Though I really liked that custom arch ![]() |

Can't figure out whether I like the roof or not
![]() Any thoughts would be helpful, i'll probably upload this one in a day or two. http://thumbs.modthesims.info/getimage.php?file=1223009 http://thumbs.modthesims.info/getimage.php?file=1223010 Thanks! |
I'm pretty terrible at building houses on 1x1 lots, but I quite like how this turned out. ( it's Alexander Goth's house at university :> )
