Something like the Decorator's Best Friend, but with a scaling feature. The OMSP resizers are limited to 1-tile objects that don't go on walls.

I’d really like to see something similar to the Job Overhaul mod, but for the university enrollment process. Sims have to apply first and their skills, high school grades, past careers, and traits (like ambitious or loser) determine whether they’re accepted or rejected.
If they’re accepted, they’ll receive an acceptance letter in the mail and then take the aptitude test to determine if they get any scholarships. If they’re rejected, they have to wait until next semester (1 week in game) to reapply. Not sure how one would get around the mascot dropping off the aptitude test at the start of a new game. Maybe disable that feature all together and make the university bucket come in the mail with the acceptance letter? Or the bucket itself is the “acceptance letter”? Additionally, something like this for boarding schools were you apply for a specific school and acceptance is determined by a child or teen’s traits (like good or rebellious) and skills related to the school (painting for art school, athletic for military school, etc.) Maybe even include an option for parents to bribe the school ![]() |
Mods you wish existed
- A mod able to Switch Fairies appearance in Tiny Fairys (like in their own animation/interactions) OR just having a kind of flying butterflyfire keeping around on the Sim as fairy compagnon hihi

Indeed, but could be better to improve it by switch as flying glowing butterfly found at special insects spawn in fog emitter, it looks prettiest than Navi clothing item statics imo ![]() I'm pretty sure there is a way to do it with fog emitter, I have to know how to "stuck" a fog emitter on a Sim...Maybe should I edit fog emitter to make it wearble like a schoolbag or jetpack, and then I could to chose any effects on fog emitter. Or let s a try with Transmogorifier mod between a fog emitter and a schoolbag, but I doubt it will stuck on Sim after the switch. |
I wish CC makeup creators could or would upload 4 color ramps for each makeup. It's really hard to have to decode which bit of color goes where and how to create a red, brown, pink, plum, and nude that looks good in every lipstick for example.

Mod that allows fairies to utilize jetpack interactions without weilding one. (Yeah there is a mod for invisible appearance of it, but it overrides the original object in a way that you can't differiante who uses it).

A mod to make sims sit down and stay seated when watching movies on the Larger Than Life Movie screen from the store.
Bonus: a default replacement for the movie footage using the Sims 4 movies from Movie Hangout Stuff. I hate that they just watch the same old tv shows. (I suppose this can’t be particularly hard? Maybe it’s a matter of replacing the original files if the movies are in the same video format idk) |

I'm not sure (igazor could confirm my tip) but if you have Nraas Retuner, in Game , cityHall Nraas>Retuner>setting configuration>XML tuning file> Sims.3.gameplay.Object Store You have to find the Movie Screen item and see if u can change time values. To be honest I didn t check but I will give a try to confirm. |

Let us know how that works out. I tried doing this myself after getting the cinema store set a very long time ago and learned that there was a limit on how large a value the game could work with in the relevant tuning field but for some bizarre reason the unit of measure for how long sims will sit still and watch the movie must have been sim seconds (or clock ticks) rather than minutes. The best I could do was extend it by the equivalent of about three sim minutes. Or it might have been five, something like that, but not anywhere near as long as I had been hoping for. |

Well, it doesn t work, whatever the values I put, it does the same results unwished...Even if I restart the game. But thanks to Retuner, we have information needed to make a package mod to setting it. I'll give a try. However, I'm surprised no mod was released for that, I m gonna search before making one. |

Pfff, even made a package mod, it still doesn't work. Whatever I put, the movie end in 10 seconds -_-" The last thing I could try is to place the package in Override Folder, but I doubt it will change anything. |

May I ask which values you were editing? I just went in to look and found that they are what must be the defaults in my current game, but there aren't any cinema screens in the world I am playing right now so I hadn't noticed. This was years ago, but I do recall adjusting kMovieDurationInMinutes (since whatever it is that it is measuring is not really minutes, the default seems to be 120) to something like 14400 and possibly kNumMinutesToLookAtTVDuringSyncEvent ,whatever that may mean, but I don't remember that one as well. In fact, I may well have not noticed that second value back then and never really changed it from its default value of 6. Thing is, if what seems like the correct values are not going to be honored because of a time unit of measure mistake on EA's end, then I don't think it's going to make any difference whether the same values are changed by Retuner vs. a standalone tuning mod. They aren't table based values and I don't see any reason why the Retuner entries would be ignored specifically because Retuner was the tool used to set them in this case. |

Multiplying a default value (120) by 10 or so if it only gave us a millisecond of results isn't going to be enough of an increase to be noticeable. Try 14400 for both values. The worst thing that can happen is that sims end up glued to the movie screen for over four sim hours and starve to death in the process, but then at least we will know we are on the right track. I suspect though that you will see some slight improvement with those values like I did but yet higher values will be ignored. You could then try 28800 but that's where I vaguely recall things are beyond what felt like some kind of upper limit on the field values. In the end I ran out of patience and started using the movie theater as a place sims went to do Animated Woohoo (now called Passion) in public. That didn't make the movie screens work any differently, but I felt better about using up all of that time fiddling with the venue. ![]() |

I wish to get the equivalent of KawaiiStacie's Slice of Life mod without being too much Adult rated because I don't need +18 interactions and the awesome attraction system of WickedWhims without the +18 interactions I don't need as well because it's not my type of gameplay the game will be more than far perfect with such additions.
I just adore them in the sims 4 I wish the same excellence in the sims 3. and I wish someday somebody will be able to create new traits, at the moment that' snot possible but someday perhaps? |

The Sims 3 doesn't need an "awesome" attraction system because it already has it. The attraction system in The Sims 3 takes a lot of elements into account, from trait compatibility, to skill level, career level, zodiac sign combos, needs, money, celebrity status, lifetime rewards and EVEN moodlets like Minty Breath (with other moodlets like Garlic Breath having a negative impact on attraction). And if you're not happy with certain aspects of the attraction system, you can easily customize it through an XML mod. The Sims 4 needs this because there's NO ATTRACTION system whatsoever.

Traits in The Sims 3 are faaaaar more complex than in The Sims 4. A lot of scripting is required to incorporate traits into gameplay. In many cases, a CORE MOD would be required because it you want to make traits truly matter, you need to add CHECKS for those traits in different interactions through the game. Arsil developed a mod to add new traits, but these traits pretty much behave like TS4 traits and don't really affect gameplay significantly (only add bonuses, change autonomy and whatnot). I did see ONE custom trait that actually made a tangible difference in gameplay: HYPOCHONDRIAC . This trait even includes new pie menu interactions and custom wishes. EDIT: I remembered AwesomeMod has a BUNCH of custom traits (it's a CORE mod after all) but they're all hidden because... well... Most of them aren't precisely child-friendly (and a couple are REALLY sickening). Pescado must've added them for personal use, I suppose. |
It is worth mentioning that while still worthwhile to look at as an example of what can be done, SimsMX's custom Hypchondriac trait is outdated and stands to break the game on current patch levels. The only custom traits I know of that work properly on 1.67/69, because they are so impossibly difficult to make, are Arsil's Japanese culture trait and the custom core loaded ones that come with AwesomeMod.
I don't recall Awesome's custom traits being hidden. Maybe there are some of those as well, but when I used the mod years ago I enjoyed having Stupid, Tealdeer, and maybe there were one or two others out in the open as regular traits. Some of them are indeed insulting though, most people I know who are Visually Impaired do not spend all day walking into walls and each other (this was supposed to be funny?) and there are better ways to cope with Incontinence than peeing all over the floor at every available opportunity (I guess that was supposed to be funny as well...). I'm not even touching the one I regarded as truly sickening, although the point of that one was not actually to be funny but to show how much of a jerk a sim can be and what repercussions might result. Unfortunately one cannot pick and choose which parts of a Core Mod like that one wants to have in play. |

Stupid wasn't hidden, you're right. But there WERE so hidden traits like PAEDOPHILE I only discovered when I tried to add a trait with NRaas. It even had a custom icon with a man dressed in a furry bear suit. There was also a RACIST trait and many other that were... questionable at the best.

This is so true. I really enjoyed some of the functions of AwesomeMod, but there were some I didn't care to have in my game. I haven't played with Awesome in two years. Most of the things I actually liked about Awesome can be found in other mods (mostly NRaas mods) and since I'm using the Steam version, Awesome isn't 100% compatible anymore. It doesn't really affect gameplay, but those pop-ups nagging about a core version mismatch are extremely annoying. |
Oh, I wasn't even counting the pedo-bear thing as a custom trait even though that's how Pescado implemented it. That's another whole thing entirely and was his somewhat annoyed answer to players wanting there to be teen-older romance and relationships even if both sims were teens to begin with and one just happened to age up to YA before the other. Right, that one and its bait companion are not reachable by way of CAS at all, the player gets no say in how they were to be assigned and attempting to bypass that feature once it showed up would cause the game to crash. His advice to avoid those traits was to not allow YAs and older to romance teens and vice versa even though he begrudgingly provided a config option to unblock that. It did take many of us by surprise at the time, the little bear icons were not clear on my older computer and I had no idea what was happening until I read up on what he had done a bit more.
Aside from that mess, the one I was referring to as disgusting even though he never cast the trait in a positive light was Racist. |
I do sort of wonder- is there any way of isolating and extracting some of Awesomemod's non-core features?
I do like some of what's there, like sims getting out of their cars in the parking spaces, and the fixes to sim generation. |
