Buying something complete and actually owning it seems quite quaint and old-fashioned now in this Brave New World.

More or less completely out of context:

For a while it seemed that Orwell got it right. Then it seemed that Huxley got it right. By now it seems that both got it right, but with Orwell gaining the upper hand once more.

I don't know anything about video development or publishing, but to think they are spending all this time and resources on a game and they don't know how they are going to make profitable over X amount of years is a genuine struggle for me to believe. I'm also not convinced that Krafton's Wall Street overlords would give such a plan a pass either. The overlords want all of their 'investment' back, plus profits.

I guess they'll reveal their plan, eventually.

Considering there less than 6 weeks weeks left of 2024 and they are supposed to release Early Access in that time, yeah. Of course they have a plan to make money.

Early access was pushed to March 2025 recently...

I see. I think my point still stands. I find it unlikely that such a big company puts a lot of money into developing a game and doesn't have a plan how to make money from it.

New inZOI video (4+ minutes) in their discord. It's a beautiful game.

Honestly other games have a lot of hype to live up to, especially inZOI.

The one thing that TS4 has going for is that everybody knows how bad it is so, if you return to it or just start playing the base game for the first time, you are bound to be pleasantly surprised quite a few times.

The fact they've hired 20 additional team members since gamescom is encouraging. What's giving me the most hope that the game won't be continuously pushed back is that they're a relatively large team and seem to develop very efficiently and at a high speed. If we are to believe what they say, development only started in early 2023, which means with just a fraction of the development time of games like LBY, Paralives(games with limited resources so understandable), or even AAA games like Sims, they've built something seemingly playable and high quality already. 2 years to build something at this level is sort of a miracle and speaks to a competence level I find refreshing in the wake of so many huge gaming failures. They even listen, interact with, and develop features with community insight very regularly over on the discord.

If it can live up to the hype is a different beast, but I really like how this one's getting all of the early development stuff so right. Unfortunately, I'm sure the big execs have plenty of time, energy, & motivation to come in and ruin all that good will with corporate drivel and bullshit.

I have not followed everything inZoi but will see an article here or there and sometimes read about it. Well I came across this video today: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3UobWC4pMc0

When it comes to new life simulation games, I have not been impressed but have been keeping my eye on inZoi and have not gotten my hopes up just to be disappointed...still so to a certain extent although it's realism/aesthetics, graphics and gameplay seem more and more what I always wanted from an improved and advanced version of The Sims 3. Finally! A life sim that is not just on par but far beyond TS3 in all the current gen technology without holding back.

Unfortunately, I lost everything and lost more and even had random stuff stolen from me but it is what it is. Despite it all, some day in the future I hope to be able to play the more demanding video games again but I am grateful for what I do have even though its not much but it's all I have and I am appreciative of it all.

Moving along, the whole A.I. dynamic learning system and changing behavior due to life experiences, traits, etc is nothing new to me because this is something I already witnessed in TS3 A.I. Additionally the whole A.I. awareness and gossip system is not something new to me since some of the A.I. foundation of inZoi seems to already have been implemented in TS3. Though not as an official feature, let alone even talked much about, but there is a lot more to TS3 than some are aware of. And this is why inZoi is shaping up to becoming more and more the realistic life sim I want since EA/Maxis is moving in a non traditional Sims fashion that to me the Sims was never meant to be except a standalone such as The Sims Online.

In the meantime, I'll just be happy watching others play and get more of a solid opinion when the early access? comes out in March.

Sidenote: I wonder if when I used to play TS3 if it used some of these new technologies if it were included in the updates of all RTX graphic cards and that's why I started noticing even more interesting behaviors? I don't know but I do know that day one, TS3 A.I. is among the best A.I.'s I have ever witnessed and knew it was always something special. I miss playing TS3 and I miss my Sims that I may never finish their stories I was so invested in. C'est la vie.
