A house I built. It's now being occupied by Faith, her husband, and her son. |

SiliconAI, thank you very much! I'd love to see your cathedral as well, and I must say that the mansion of yours looks just amazing!
Today, I finished a new modern cliffside mansion Kallio. |
Awesome Modern Mansion, Juhhmi.
As per your request, here is my downtown Cathedral "Our Lady of Perpetual Motion" Here is an interior shot looking from the altar to the front. And finally a winter night shot |
Wow! That's all I can say!
|
SiliconAI, your cathedral looks also amazing! The tower tops and especially the interior look very grand!
|
A run-down old manor house in the hills, away from the city. In the back, the graves of the first to build and occupy the house crumble in a makeshift family cemetery, and the last remaining heir to the Arkwood fortune sips his wine, leaning over the balustrade of the back veranda, hidden by a tree. It is getting dark out, and as he lights another cigarette, his eyes catch on the tallest and newest monument to the dead, that of his missing wife and newborn son. His other son, removed as heir long ago, sits in his room, whittling away at the antiques and making them shine.

Thanks, Juhhmi and Meginmd!
Here's a couple of older designs I did a while back. This is a large modern home that I use for one of my "famous" families as its perfect for throwing parties and entertaining guests. This is a second empire styled mansion that is home to one of my richest familes in the game. This is also a graphics card killer much like my cathedral! |

SiliconAI, that huge empire house would work well as a M&G stuff pack advertisement! Great use of the roof parts and windows though the roof terraces could be in use. Perhaps, I should build a mansion for my me-sim's decendants...
Edit: This is the house they are now dwelling, and where space is only available upwards: |
Juhhmi, funny you should mention using the roof terraces on the mansion, I had considered doing just that but it kept looking too cluttered or out of place and I wasn't going to search for more theme appropriate custom content to make it blend. So this was the final result with no terrace or roof access. Considering the amount of land around the building itself and the fact that it has plenty of interior rooms to house and entertain a family of seven and staff of three, I wasn't going to stress over it too much!
The house you posted looks like it would take an early modern or post modern styling very well. Or with some roof rework and some additional railings you could pull off an excellent Victorian. Just some thoughts although its pretty cool as is too! |

DigitalSympathies, you have very nice attention to details as with all the different balconies of the apartment building!
SiliconAI, that's true. With some large houses I've noticed that with too many squares, space becomes so empty that it's hard to decorate and furniture looks too small. It's also hard to come up with any use for the large spaces. By the way, creating a turned driveway in front of the house of yours would look cool! I have now finished the exterior and some rooms of my Italian-themed Palazzo Verde. The building is huge so it requires many sim generation's work to finish. As I said, I have no idea how to decorate the rooms; perhaps my sims will have different rooms for the ugly aspiration rewards as the energizer (since they'll need lots of energy if they desire to walk to the kitchen downstairs Hmm... Now I'm wondering why I didn't add elevators...). While building, I also noticed there's room for a helipad but decided that trees look way better. I do hope that my first turned driveway works well in game. Edit: Added pictures of my latest lot, Hunter's Hill, which also includes a garage and a gatehouse. |
The beach house belonging to Frances J. Worthington III and his wife Shelby (Attention).

DigitalSympathies & Hazl Very pretty!

Glad to see this thread isn't dead. Here's a couple I built sort of recently. First, a...um, Greek Revival-ish beach house?
Yeah, those two things don't often go together, I know, but it's just what happened. It started life as a modest 2-bedroom/1-bath house up on piers. Things kind of went weird from there, once I decided that I wanted to enclose the ground floor so as to have a proper garage (The other half of the ground floor is a big game/rec room/home theater). Because then I decided to play around with CFE turned on to make a grand-ish staircase, to take up some big empty space on the front facade. And then I added a third floor for more bedroom space, turning it into a 5-bedroom/3-bathroom house. And then... Yeah, you know what they say about the best laid plans, right? Pay no attention to the lemonade stand and the hacked telescope; I took the pic after I'd moved a (big, alien) family into it. And here's another that I've kind of become fond of. It's a small(ish) bungalow-style kind of place, with kind of a Miami/Key West feel to it, and it ended up playing really well in-game. I'm thinking about sticking it on my LJ, hence the labeled floor plan pic. The front: The back pool area: The floor plan: I wanted to build something that specifically utilized those windows and that half-wall from Apartment Life, which I liked but had never used. The above is the result. |
Bad iCad, double-posting. But this thread is on the second page. That's not allowed. So, this is a house a built a bit ago, and it's one I kinda really like, although I haven't played it yet, so I'm not sure how well it will play.
The front: The back: I wanted to build something really open and airy inside, so the back of this one is fully two-story with a much smaller but rather complex second floor linked up with a large, bridge-like balcony. It's meant to be positioned so that it backs onto water but isn't a beach lot, more of a lakefront rather than a beachfront house. I suppose it could work as a beach house, but it wasn't built on a beach lot, so... Anyway, with that in mind, it has nice views and outdoor entertainment options out the back, with a big open patio, a smaller covered patio, and an enclosed sunroom. Plus another mostly-covered patio off the kitchen/garage, meant more for grilling than sitting. Maybe the floor plans will show the general idea better. Downstairs: And upstairs: Bedroom 3 actually is two-story, so this house is two stories with a teeny-tiny third. The little ladder you can see in the pic goes up to a small sleeping or study loft, depending on how the space is furnished. I just didn't take a picture of the loft. The room makes up the upper part of the "tower" on the front facade. And as you can see, the master suite is gi-huge-ic. I have a thing for making sumptuous master suites, you see. |
iCad, great houses with colour and wall cover combinations! The loft-room idea is nice!
|
I really love that ranch house iCad. The two story ceiling is also works good in a living room, I've only used them in foyers.
Here are two houses I've built: This is a Tudor style house for a more densely populated neighborhood. It has a guest house on the detached garage and is much larger than it looks in the picture. This house is a behemoth chateau/craftsman/Tudor style mansion. It is one of the largest mansions I've built in the game. |
Some of my latest mansions:

juhhmi: I love Coldhome Court. I really wish I had the patience to build something like that.

Thank you, frankokomando! I was surprised how I constructed it in just two days, and I'm very happy with the final result.

Ugh i hate my graphic-card, the landscapes looks so ugly from the neighbourhood-view. The grass just looks terrible and the water has no details what so ever. So ugly..
I wish i could change graphiccard, but to bad i have a laptop |
The smallest house I've ever built...
It's a little cabin on the edge of the woods |
juhhmi, you make very lovely mansions. I suck at them. Which I guess is OK since none of my Sims can afford one, as I tend to keep them poor-ish via various dastardly means...
Anyway, here's one from my current 'hood, the home of one of my favorite Sim families. The dad even served as a model on my one-and-only clothing upload. So, the Parker house: Basically, it was a house where I drew a shape and then tried to see if I could roof it in an attractive way. One of the few houses I built that didn't get drawn in CAD first and that I just kind of drew on the fly. The family's big. 9 kids with multiple sets of twins. So, it has five roomy bedrooms, the master plus four family bedrooms. I thought it turned out pretty well for a house built "on the fly," so to speak. |
iCad, I need your houses. NEED. *rolls on floor, writhing in feels*
