Thank you, iCad! My wealthiest sim family moved into one of my incomplete mansions and even they had financial problems with finishing interior decoration...

That house of yours has again very interesting exterior and nicely lush plantings!

iCad, I need your houses. NEED. *rolls on floor, writhing in feels*

You are a silly, silly girl.

When I get time to put them together properly (Rounding up the recolors that don't package usually takes me a couple of tries before I get everything in there! ), I plan to put some lots up on my LJ, so I guess keep an eye out over there, if you like my style. I'm thinking the Parker house above will be one; as I'm playing it I'm really liking its semi-open interior layout, so I think it plays really well, at least for my own play style. And although it's a big house, it's "only" on a 3x3 lot, so it's not a game-eater. There's not much room in the back or on the sides, though, so it's also a good candidate for Mootilda's Magical Lot Adjuster.

SiliconAI, your lots kick as$! The Cathedral looks especially wonderful...

juhhmi and jag140, I love the look of your mansions.

Niam_h, what a gorgeous screenshot! I can hardly believe it's from TS2.

iCad, your beach homes look simply fantastic! In fact, I might just snag some of the ideas for my own vacation houses (if you don't mind, of course)

Night Racer, mr. Darby sure did a good job with that yard! I imagine Alana was more than happy with her anniversary present

By all means, if any of the ideas are useful, snag away. It's not as if they're all my ideas, anyway; I have a subscription to Architectural Digest and I do a lot of drooling. And then I try to incorporate stuff I see in there into houses that I draw in CAD, some of which end up getting "imported" into the game, if I think they'll work well enough. (And if I can get the roof looking decent in-game. *grumbles* Why can't we vector-draw roofs, dangit?! )

Posting another palace, this time it's in Baroque style:

Rock Goddess Mary Munny's house. It started out as the two-bedroom ranch house in the lot bin. She keeps adding bits and doesn't worry much about matching anything, or staying within the original footprint, or even with an architect. Just points and tells the builder: "Stick something on here so there'll be room for the studio and let's put some of that fancy half-timber stuff on the outside this time." Recently her natureboy grandson Frank persuaded her to do some landscaping, and she has to admit it looks more homey. She hopes the gardening service she just hired sends somebody hot to water the sunflowers.

The side yard at Alma Mater House, on campus. Everybody's favorite summer hangout.

At Tri-Var sorority, the pink stucco was looking kind of worn, so the last senior woman did a total remake of the exterior. The current senior woman, Lily Pond, is concerned that her successor won't keep up with the landscaping she put in.

Here are a few more pictures:

Here are some suburban townhomes, they are a work in progress. Once I get apartment life, I will be able to build more realistic town homes and condos.

I've also decided to re-do the exterior of this Tudor house to give it a less boring appearance.

Finally, here is a Georgian mansion I have been working on. It doesn't look like much, but I love this architectural style as it is easier to make than most homes in the Sims 2.

Juhhmi, your creations are EPIC!! I was looking at some of your stuff on Deviant Art and you, my friend, have a gift at this simulated architectural thing! Good job!!

juhhmi 23rd Jun 2012 8:28 PM

Thank you very much, SiliconAI! Architecture was indeed one of my career options but I chose astronomy.

It's been quite quiet so I decided to post a house I made to test my Art Nouveau wall set. Works well in my opinion.

The main house of the historical Sunnyside Farm:

It used to be inhabited by the Cambridge Family back when Tailor Bay was first founded, but now it's deserted. Maybe a nice young couple will move in and get it going again...otherwise the land will be sold to SimCity and a nice new shopping mall will be built there...

Just finished making a new rural Irish Bungalow called Sharwikeen. Thinking of uploading it here on MTS.

Juhhmi, I LOVE your house, I've always wanted to build something like that! Too bad I'm not into architectural stuff like my mom is.

At any rate, I'm working on a custom college, and here is the student center. I put more time into this than usual, and I was using the Club set.

Exterior--has basketball, Myshuno, and outdoor chess:

Ground floor. Has the study room, music room, bathrooms, and cafeteria:

Second floor. Huge open area (on purpose). College students can relax, watch TV, hustle pool, play darts...Ever get the impression that I SPOIL my Sims sometimes?

juhhmi 28th Jul 2012 3:01 PM

AlexandraSpears, thank you! The skills grow when practiced and I'm not yet on the top level. I've always drawn houses and I still remember my awkward building experiments in the Sims 1... You could ask tips from your mother if you want to get better and she can help. One advice for your nice building: you can use the cheat roofSlopeAngle to make the roof a bit less dominant. Some trees and grass terrain would add nice greenness to the lot.

Ella_in_wonderland, great versatile farm! The main building looks nicely rustic!

Guysim1993, the bungalow looks very cosy and has an amazing garden!

Warmheart Hall

Large Baroque mansion inspired by Blenheim Palace. The manor has a courtyard, grand staircase, great hall, dining room, servants' area, swimming pool in the basement, two small bedrooms, private wing for a two-storied master bedroom, gallery leading to a two-storied library, three large rooms for various activities, roof terraces...

Ella_in_wonderland, that building looks very interesting, and the garden is so lush and diverse! Is it a small chapel?

Thanks! Yeah, it's a little chapel converted into a home.
