Ohh and employee badge. I'm not evil... Just overly curious as to what sims will look like when I mix Sim A with ugly Sim B... That's not evil, right?

calisims 16th Oct 2012 2:00 AM

Nah, that's not evil. Fiendish, maybe, but not evil.

Edit: Or how about diabolical?

Kittens! 16th Oct 2012 4:36 AM

I think I might start this soon.

Kittens! 16th Oct 2012 4:45 AM

If a sim is not the chosen heir, they must be moved out of the household (kicked out or moved to a new house) within 24 sim hours of aging up to young adult.

Do you have to do that?

NutsAndDolts 16th Oct 2012 4:53 AM

Yes. ='( We call the kids who grew up in the house but were not the heir "spares".

Spares have to leave unless they're staying around as part of a special family structure roll (such as single parent with help... the help could be one of the spares, if you want).

Kittens! 16th Oct 2012 5:01 AM

to bad but, okay that is fine.

sjdavis1024 16th Oct 2012 5:38 AM

I've got a question. About to start this again.

Would the instant baby function of MC be a legal way to add a child to a single male's family?

Rolled single Sim for founding generation and I'm toying with 2 different storylines. One would require the instant baby function. One requires moving the mother in but I have to take into consideration my gourmet roll for this line and try to get a mother with a low cooking level favorite food.

Edit: Ignore the question. I answered it myself. Misread the rules on what males can do in regards to getting their spawn from their mothers. Now, I just have to figure out which plot I want to do XD

I'd prefer fiendish... May mean cruel, unpleasent or devilish... But has a nicer air about it. All sugar and spice then BAM have a kid with uggo.

I'm totally going to put a fiendish Dr. Teal in my story, you know.

This I want to see!
And Teal, I certainly hope you're going to post pics of the horrorspawns?

teal_moonshine 16th Oct 2012 2:48 PM

Will always post pics of the truly horrible. I'm fiendish geneticist after all. I'm just waiting for Amy Bull and the wonderful Juan Darer's child to age up to toddler so I can CAS to see it...

calisims 16th Oct 2012 2:53 PM

I can't wait for the freakshow, Teal.

I actually was in need in need of a fiendish MorcuCorp geneticist, so I'm glad you took the job. =D

Although not TERRIBLE, she's not exactly the prettiest girl on the block (her twin brother isn't bad)

Child of Amy Bull and Marc Brandt, Angel Bull.

Edit: And I cloned Juan Darer for generations more fun!!

calisims 16th Oct 2012 3:27 PM

I dunno, teal, cloning Juan Darer kind of pushes you into the evil zone....I hope you laughed maniacally when you pushed the clone button.

In my Twinbrook, Amy Bull had a daughter named Malia Bull. I thought it was hilarious that the game managed to accidentally continue the pun from Amy Bull (amiable) to her daughter Malia (malleable).

I had a small chuckle, yes.

And my game isn't as awesome as yours in the naming stakes.

Ok, so I don't think I needed to clone Juan.. His son, Edwardo, with Amy Bull kinda looks him anyway... WOO.

ShakespearesSunshyne 16th Oct 2012 4:04 PM

I'm going to have nightmares about the above. Yikes! Though I'm sure he has a fantastic personality. O_o

NutsAndDolts 16th Oct 2012 4:39 PM

Aw, he's kind of cute.

calisims 16th Oct 2012 4:46 PM

That is some chin!

teal_moonshine 16th Oct 2012 4:51 PM

His nose is also somewhat hook like as well and the chin is not only wide, but kinda jutts out beyond his lips in profile. Love it.

calisims 16th Oct 2012 5:51 PM

LOL, it would probably take a lot of maneuvering to try to kiss him. Assuming anyone would be so inclined...

ashaw814 16th Oct 2012 8:30 PM

Angel looks relatively normal...not super attractive, but like a regular person. Edwardo, on the other hand....*shudder* That chin!!

ginj 16th Oct 2012 10:13 PM

I dunno...Edwardo's not that bad but I certainly wouldn't want to tangle with Angel!

BTW, there's a new Corcorans chapter up for your perusal at http://ginj-corcoranstory.blogspot.com

AJH 16th Oct 2012 10:26 PM

I have a new chapter:- http://clemetislegacy.blogspot.co.u...eventy-one.html

Generation 4 has now fully taken over (last chapter was kind of transitional) so I have updated the family page and various other details.

Edit to add I've also uploaded Dory & Dyan for anyone who wants them

misslaheela 17th Oct 2012 12:52 AM

Bahaha! I love Edwardo! I never have any luck spawning evil- or diabolical-looking babies from their evil- or diabolical-looking parents. I purposely created Rufus Overlord to look like a maniacal evil Overlord. I was expecting him to have some babies that shared his crazy arched eyebrows, his huge nose, and his beady red eyes. And somehow ALL the kids he popped out were beautiful. I was almost disappointed.

Now Midnight's mixed with Jakkson, and the third generation is even more beautiful than the second. This wasn't exactly how I pictured my evil Overlord family, but it'll work, I guess.

Should be an update tonight, to prepare for another stretch where I probably won't be able to update until Saturday. Plenty of homework this week, and focused classes Thursday, Friday, and Saturday (focused classes are classes I only take three weekends out of the whole semester, but I sit in class for about 4-8 hours a day). I'm pretty excited to get started on Gen 3.

ReyaD 17th Oct 2012 1:21 AM

I think it'll be a few days before my next update even though I'm still trying to get it out some time tomorrow. Life just got crazy all of a sudden and I'm hosting a contest here on MTS so my legacy took quite a hit.

Oh who am I kidding? I'll still be posting soon.

teal_moonshine 17th Oct 2012 2:36 AM

Would it be wrong to purposely make some super ugly people and set them loose in Twinbrook?

ReyaD 17th Oct 2012 2:41 AM

Yes Teal. Yes it would be.

So I'm saying you should def do that.

teal_moonshine 17th Oct 2012 3:02 AM

I shall show you their beautiful faces when I get in game. I like ugly sims. It's like a passive ugly legacy thing.

Nirar22 17th Oct 2012 5:40 AM

@teal-- Neither Angel or Edwardo look too terribly ugly to me. When I picture ugly it is more like this: Matlilda "The" Hun Some pretty ugly sims there! lol (You don't have to register to see that link.) Edwardo looks like he would make a great alien. It'll be interesting to see the results of your breeding experiments! I can't wait! Fugly sims are like a car crash---you just can't help but look----

I have another update: Chapter 27: Birthdays

A bunch of cuties! Lots of birthdays, and I was uninspired on a title, lol. My game is a lot farther ahead than my story, I am trying to play catch up with the story. I'm also pretty sure I know who my next heir will be.

teal_moonshine 17th Oct 2012 6:07 AM

Yeah, the sims I'll be injecting into Twinbrook will be more like Matlilda "The" Hun... And if they breed with sims like Edwardo and the Bayless', it should make for some less than attractive sims.

misslaheela 17th Oct 2012 7:00 AM

Guess what? It's time for another chapter of the Overlord legacy!
Chapter Twenty-Four - The Tender Trap

Lots of drama in the previous chapters. Time to revert back to some humor.
Almost at Generation Three! Only a couple more chapters at this point. :D

Elle Moche, Sia Hasslich, Ivon Nekrasivy and Tao Kole. They aren't TOO bad really, but seeing as Sia and Tao are already an item, they may mix to form something bad. Either way, it's an injection of ugly compared to a lot of sims.

calisims 17th Oct 2012 4:43 PM

Brannon Legacy update, 10.17:

Chapter 18: Dungeons and Dragons

Nirar22 17th Oct 2012 5:30 PM

@Teal--- mixing those genetics is sure to produce a lot of ugly. lol Though I have to say, I really like how Sia looks, she looks like a Brownie/Sprite to me. Or, what I picture a Brownie/Sprite could look like. If Sia and Tao have kids, I hope you post a pic. That would be an *interesting* looking sim!

NutsAndDolts 17th Oct 2012 6:15 PM

I have a new chapter as well: http://archers3.blogspot.com/2012/1...bject-8-92.html

Warning: violence.

Catching up to all the weird-sim talk and this one made laugh! (love the Malia Bull) I think making ugly sims is fun IF you're not trying for a decent legacy heir haha. Unless you just want to go for the ugliest, silliest, funniest story possible and that's definitely fun too. I was thinking of doing an alien type legacy this way later when Seasons comes out.

Also, Juan Darer is quite possibly the most amazing ZOMBIE sim I have currently running in my Zombie Apocalypse Challenge test-town of Twinbrook.

Here he is assisting another zombie in attacking a poor chinese tourist in a combined effort zombification heist:

PS: Teal: I like your crazy colorful freaks!

PSS: I am going back and catching up on everyone's legacy blogs over the next few days, but I'm slipping further behind again. The holidays are soon approaching and my just graduated son has arrived and needs a lot of help getting started on his new job, plus everyone's been sick so I have not had ANY Sims time this week

If its your very first generation, you can actually start them out in your household from Day 1 as CAS created additions to the family. So if you rolled a couple, you can create the spouse to start the household out for Gen. 1, or a sibling/friend/etc. as the "help" ... you don't have to go out and 'find' them from your town unless you want to do it that way.

ShakespearesSunshyne 18th Oct 2012 12:28 AM

I'm starting using the final member of the family I was playing in my Nothing is Free Challenge, so no CAS, unless I go in and CAS a sim and just merge them into the household. I was only wondering because it looks like my heir is going to have some (read: a lot of) infidelity if "couple" starts right off the bat. I'd really rather not break too many hearts along the way if I can help it. And then the question would trickle down to subsequent rolls for the following generations. example: For a Step-Children roll, should child and spouse be moved in the day the heir turns YA or just before the next heir gets to the... you get it now.

Buckley 18th Oct 2012 12:48 AM

When you roll couple, you need to have your heir paired up with someone before the first child is born. So as soon as the first baby is born, there has to be a romantic partner living in the house with your Sim. It doesn't have to be the same partner always, but there needs to be one in the active family. So no, you don't have to move in the partner on the day your heir ages to YA.

calisims 18th Oct 2012 12:50 AM

The spouse/partner does not have to be moved in right away, but they do have to be moved for the birth/adoption of the first child.

Ok Gen 2: Gracie Kent

Single
4 Kids
Fortune Teller - Genuine
Awesome
Half-siblings

First pic is Gracie, I was proud... Gracie has had her first child, to Tay, in game, but I won't show you his pic until all kids have been born.

ANYWAY, some genetic wins and fails (I let you decide what winning is)

2nd pic is daughter of Jeffrey Castor and Chase Bayless
3rd is Alfred Bayless, son of Zo Wheloff and Tay Bayless
4th is Dara Nekrasivy, daughter of Elle Moche and Ivon Nekrasivy

calisims 18th Oct 2012 1:53 AM

Alfred Bayless wins the universe.

ReyaD 18th Oct 2012 2:00 AM

I wonder if Alfred could fly with ears like that...

The Castor-Bayless daughter is actually sort of pretty. O_o I would not think twice about letting her breed with my family if she was the right age.

Dara will give me nightmares.

Envie42 18th Oct 2012 2:25 AM

Alfred rocks my socks off too - but his Dad Tay has him beat hands down for the ears and long face / nose.

I like the Castor/Bayless pairing, she's got a long pretty face that looks elegant.

Dara ... I'm with ReyaD, not so great. Her nose is getting worse considering the Mother's.

Have y'all ever got completely stuck on a chapter during mid teens when you've got a looong way to go before they're getting close to YA and all the excitement of becoming the heir and starting a new roll? I'm so bored with my first gen right now and can't think of anything interesting to write about the founders. I've got to build / buy the required nature lot for the "Living Green" requirement and have the simoleons for it and know what I want to make (a campground by the falls) but I'm so uninspired. It feels like a boring stretch for my heir because she's not terribly romantically inclined the direction she's headed so the typical teen romance chapter just isn't coming forward. Ugh.

ReyaD 18th Oct 2012 2:29 AM

I have a problem. A lot of my save games got glitched last night and when I found one to play from I open up to Gem and Fawn talking. Fawn backs up and out pop wings! Wtf...

To those who play in Moonlight Falls, does Fawn get wings in your game? Cause I just don't even... Dammit game! I'm going to have to remove her wings but they're so green and pretty...

My game is trolling me.

I believe this might be twallan's SP attempting to meet whatever % of occults you set it for (default is 50%). YES I had this happen at the very start. I played the family of witches (the big one like from Harry Potter living in that big rambly weird house) and two of the kids were not witches. That's fine, the Mom wasn't a witch either... but then suddenly one aged up to teen and became a witch, and the other when he hit YA. So I believe occult population may be re-calculating at aging up but I can't verify this 100% without going over and combing through recent posts on twallan's chatterbox forum which I haven't had time to do in a couple of weeks now.

Edit: You could just roll with it... poor Gem becomes a human, and Fawn gets her dream (or maybe its not?) to finally be like all the others in her family.

I kinda had a daydream of the two of them just being ordinary humans though.

I frequently get stuck on chapters; that's when I just gameplay and take a lot of random screenshots in hopes that the chapter will plot itself. Or, if I know where I want to go with it, gameplay and nudge those Simmies in the right direction. So yes, I know of which you speak.

misslaheela 18th Oct 2012 3:00 AM

@Envie, yeah, that's why I lowered my lifespan to Medium. It leaves a lot less time for the next generation to be teenagers (or any other stage), so things can flow easier for me. I find that it leaves me just enough time to elaborate on my story, but not get bored with it.

@Cece, I do get weird glitches. Fawn's never sprouted wings on me, but I've had random people disappear. Like when Phantom met Dalia. He was talking to her, just about to ask her sign, and BLIP! She just disappears.
However, she did return to the same salon and on her own initiated a romantic interaction. I've never seen Phantom so delighted in his life.

I hope you get the game worked out though. I don't want a glitched game to ruin your story

Good idea; I'm going to do the same thing - especially since I'm going to start with vampires. This is for story reasons; I hope to have my first chapter up tonight.

Also, thanks for another awesome chapter of an awesome legacy that inspired me to make my legacy Sims (at least my first 2 generations) evil as well!

misslaheela 18th Oct 2012 5:30 AM

Oh boy. Vampires. Love all their characteristics and abilities, hate their lifespans. A normal lifespan is a little too long for a human in my game - I give you major props for using vampires. I couldn't ever do it. :P

And thanks. You can thank my first roll for that. No way could I ditch an Emperor of Evil and a Super Spy being married to each other.
If you ever read the "Things that made you go 'WTF are you doing'" thread on the regular Sims 3 discussion board, MinghamSmith posts some awesome photos of his superbly evil family too, the Scumthorpes. You should definitely check those pics out too, because they are just hilarious. Luckily for me, Mingham and I have been talking and we could potentially have a Scumthorpe/Overlord collab in the future...

Agree with this so much.

Yet, I can't help but be drawn to the vampire kid in one of my households when two of his siblings are imaginary friends.

ReyaD 18th Oct 2012 7:04 AM

I absolutely adore my vampires, but I think I've made that pretty clear already. It's physically hurting me to remove Gem's vampirism, but I want my heirs to live "normal" lives, and I can't see him wanting to turn his future wife into a vampire.

Anyway, update.

6.2 - Missing You http://sarisimsrandomlegacy.blogspo...issing-you.html

A letter, from Trinity to her big brother while he's away.

Nirar22 18th Oct 2012 8:48 AM

@Reya-- I added wings to Fawn in my game, she looked like she needed them. lol I've never had them actually added by the game though! *Gremlins*---they lurk in every computer---ready at any moment to wreak havoc---

Alfred Bayless wins!

@Envie---maybe you could go for the atypical romance story then. Some dating woes? Give her some sort of mystery to solve? Maybe her mother needs to come for a visit! I dunno---when I run into that trouble---I throw a huge monkey wrench in and see what happens, lol My poor sims, they never know what hits them!

Another update: Chapter 28: The Book Opens

Thanks for this suggestion Nirar, this is exactly what I'm going to do! I played through quite a few days in Isabel's teens yesterday and got some good material. Like misslaheela said, I just kept snapping screenshots hoping something interesting would pop up and it did. Enough that I can finally write a good filler chapter that will be interesting. As those of you know who are reading, Isabel's somewhat of an awkward teen since she didn't make a lot of friends (geniuses have that problem) as a child and hasn't experienced any sort of typical growing-up peer drama, so yeah - time for a little growing pains before surviving to young adult soooon!

I finally got some time to play and hope to get a chapter up tonight. I am also desperate to catch up on yours and everyone's GREAT stories. I'm loving them all so much, but have not had time to make comments, just reading the missed chapters. I'll comment soon! I am absolutely in love with quite a few of the regular stories going on right now. They are all so different and the characters are becoming so real! Yay!

PSDuckie 18th Oct 2012 10:11 PM

Blogging a legacy is harder than it looks! It's also lots of fun. I wasn't able to get the first chapter finished last night but I'll keep working on it until it's finished.

calisims 18th Oct 2012 10:23 PM

Ugh, I just sent Elliot to one of his steady gigs...somehow copies of his fire hoop and balancing ball got stuck on the stage there, and the game wouldn't allow him to either set up his stage or use the set up still there. So, I tried deleting the objects on the stage, and guess what...it deleted the objects from his inventory as well, and there's no way to get back objects you earn in careers.
I've done too much stuff since my last save to go back, so Elliot will stuck performing without them. I hate SHT careers. After this, I'm scratching them off my career list 4eva.
/end rant

ReyaD 18th Oct 2012 10:31 PM

*Offers Melissa sympathy hugs*

When Melody reached lvl 7 of the singing career she suddenly got glitched and wouldn't be allowed to try out for gigs or preform any where! Luckily by that point they didn't need her income but dammit that was annoying.

NutsAndDolts 18th Oct 2012 10:32 PM

Man, that seriously sucks. =( I haven't played Acrobat yet, but I'm assuming those two items are very important.

If I end up with a SHT career, I'd be re-rolling for other reasons. Namely, it makes no sense for a rising star to be in what looks like a very quiet town.

Though I'd also consider moving them. But not within the first few generations.

/end ramble

calisims 18th Oct 2012 10:39 PM

Yeah, those are the biggest part of the show. Without them, you just have contortion, 4 mimes, 3 juggles and fire baton, most of which are available to even low level acrobats. If he starts getting sucky reviews because he's not doing the big acts, or worse, less money for gigs, I will be severely upset.
He's the big money maker this generation, and he's funding the luxury/expansionist goal. So I'd prefer not giving up his job.

leriety 18th Oct 2012 11:05 PM

Just finished reinstalling the game, I'll probably do something tomorrow it's late now.

misslaheela 19th Oct 2012 12:21 AM

Okay. When I read SHT, I don't think Showtime. I automatically pronounce it in my head. Then I laugh about all the talk of SHT careers...

Anyway. I digress. Looking forward to seeing your first chapter, Duckie. You'll get the hang of it as you go along. I only really started getting into the swing of things on Generation Two. Hopefully I should have a chapter up on Saturday, depends on how much work my focus class needs.

NutsAndDolts 19th Oct 2012 12:36 AM

Yes... sometimes I think there are more than just 3 SHT careers.... ;D

misslaheela 19th Oct 2012 12:44 AM

Not to mention lots of SHT traits, and just SHT townies in general...

Okay, I need to stop. Shoo. :P

teal_moonshine 19th Oct 2012 1:10 AM

My acrobat lost the fire hoop thing once, then after I had exited the game, it had returned... But I also didn't delete it. Apparently, if you MC his career level down, then back up again (in order) you get them back.

ReyaD 19th Oct 2012 1:51 AM

Thats really really helpful Teal, thanks!

Also: Turns out I'm getting a new computer for my birthday on the 2nd! Hopefully my mom will agree to make sure its Sims 3 compatible and I'll be able to really abuse the seasons EP.

calisims 19th Oct 2012 2:09 AM

Thanks, teal, I'll try that with the MC to see if I can get his SHT props back.

Congrats, Cece!

Ok, so I have all 4 kids. 1: Magnus, son of Tay Bayless 2: Charlotte, daughter of Notzo Curious 3: Jasper, son of Parker Prudence and 4: Iris, daughter of Sinbad Rotter. All of them are townies, so no purposely built uglies :D.

Technically, Charlotte is supposed to be heir, but I'm thinking of changing it for some variety. I'm nervous that they're starting to look vanilla.

AND spawn of Chase Bayless and a werewolf I made.

Buckley 19th Oct 2012 10:17 AM

Oh teal, Charlotte is so cute! Actually, all of them are very interesting and unique. The girls are my favorites though.

Edit: However, if we were voting on your next heir, I'd definitely choose Iris. She's lovely.

teal_moonshine 19th Oct 2012 10:55 AM

Technically, I rolled the heir, to save you all from me going "DO IT!!" but, I think Charlotte looks too similar to previous generations. Although, I do intend to try and breed more uglies into the family, so that may not even be a factor. Confusion.

leriety 19th Oct 2012 12:16 PM

maybe I shouldn't have patched up to 1.39 if I only had 1.38 before, it won't open my savegame...

calisims 19th Oct 2012 1:39 PM

teal, Ii think Iris is pretty too, but I see what you mean about looking like previous generations. Jasper's got interesting features while still looking human.

teal_moonshine 19th Oct 2012 1:47 PM

Yeah, and ultimitely, Jasper has semi-ok genetics behind him, Magnus has the potential to produce some really bad children... I think Jasper just has a curvy forward chin, but I can't remember.

calisims 19th Oct 2012 1:51 PM

I'm loading my legacy game right now, and on the loading screen family portrait, I'm looking at 5 toddlers. I have 5 toddlers waiting for me. What was I thinking?

You weren't?

calisims 19th Oct 2012 2:02 PM

LOL, I think I was trying to make heir selection easier by having them close in age. But, 5 toddlers *headdesk*. At least Kyle is aging up today, so soon it will just be 4.

That Bayless werewolf is somehow less threatening than you'd expect a were to look. It's hard to take a werewolf with and Alfred E. Neuman head seriously. Poor guy, lol.

leriety 19th Oct 2012 2:05 PM

If I unistall and reinstall the basegame will it lose the connection to the expansions? I can't remove a patch so I have to unistall the game

teal_moonshine 19th Oct 2012 2:27 PM

I think if you uninstall the game, you have to reinstall everything. But I don't know for certain.

And Bayless/Werewolf would be the laughing stock of the were community... I love my dorky town.

ShakespearesSunshyne 19th Oct 2012 4:26 PM

@leriety- If you uninstall the basegame it *should* uninstall everything- all expansions- all store downloaded content-all patches. I would recommend that you move anything you want to keep to your desktop first and only put it back in once you have reinstalled everything-even patches.
When you go to re-install though, you're most likely going to have to re-patch each expansion as you install them.
Here - http://simswiki.info/wiki.php?title...efore_You_Begin - is a useful link to getting the patches for each individual expansion as you go, and just has some good tips for getting your game back up to speed again. If you look at the top, there is a box titled "TS3 Patching by category. Under it is all the subjects under patching to make sure it doesn't do a nasty little number on your game again, including a section on uninstalling.
I've had to do this several times and found this article extremely helpful for getting it all in correctly.
Good luck getting your game back! That can be a real booger, and a time-sink too.

leriety 19th Oct 2012 5:43 PM

I already have downloaded the patches, my mistake was to update too much, and my downloads are safe on a separate hard drive. I had just finished re-installing everything...

Skyegal19 19th Oct 2012 6:34 PM

do we have to do misc fun

calisims 19th Oct 2012 6:43 PM

Skyegal, the Misc fun rolls are part of the 'mandatory' rules. However, as with any challenge, if you want to tweak the rules to your own liking and not roll for that category, that's up to you.

Ooh, I like Iris' looks

Nirar22 19th Oct 2012 7:47 PM

@Teal---I like the color of Iris hair!

@Cali---I am sure you were thinking 5 toddlers sounded like a fun household. lol I love playing a chaotic household! Though I do have a fairly short baby/toddler age. Once they learn their skills, there is really not much for them to do, poor kids. I miss Sims2 toddler interactions, when they could ask for attention from the adults, eat the pet food, etc. etc. lol

@leriety--- before you go to all the trouble of reinstalling you could try the Superpatcher first.

Copied from the NRaas Wiki:
A lot of problems in the game seem to be related to the game not being patched correctly.

This is a standalone program, in other words, you can download and just run it, and it will indiscriminately patch any game file.
It works for any patch level you have, any language, and any distribution (except for Steam -- needs checking!!).
The downside of that is that it requires you to download a file over 1GB in size.
It may be that the Super Patch tells you your game is already up-to-date, in that case it offers you a choice to "Patch Anyway".
Selecting that choice is highly recommended, it bypasses the cursory checks and makes sure every file indeed IS up to date after running.

For PCs it can be found here: SuperPatcher for PCs

For Macs it can be found here: SuperPatcher for Macs

Cali (Melissa, I think I read your name was?) - May grace and peace and strength fall upon you. Five toddlers? The Sim Deity would lose her mind.

NutsAndDolts 19th Oct 2012 8:23 PM

I had five toddlers once. They were the exact same age, except for the first one, which was only one day older.

Even between three adults to care for them, there was some passing out from exhaustion going on.

ReyaD 19th Oct 2012 8:45 PM

I've also had five toddlers, all of them born on the same day but I had three adults + a teenager + a butler who loved kids. So I got pretty lucky. Just Briar in a constant bad mood which worked for the story.

Buckley 19th Oct 2012 8:57 PM

I've played Sims since the seventh grade (and I'm 22 now...) and I've *never* had to deal with five kids before, let alone five toddlers! I think I would pull my hair out in frustration! Good luck Melissa!

Becky, I remember your five kids well. Poor Mittens. She didn't have a very peaceful retirement, lol.

calisims 19th Oct 2012 9:39 PM

I've been learning that Sims with the Dislikes Children trait teach toddler skills more slowly than normal (the opposite of family oriented, who teach faster). I've been trying to respect Shelly's trait and only have her interact with her kids as much as she wants, and she rolled wishes to teach both Delaney and Cassidy to talk. I've also noticed the relationship gain with her toddlers is slower.
I did catch her trying to autonomously interact with one of Farrell's twins once, but he doesn't want her anywhere near his kids, lol, so I stopped that

Skyegal19 19th Oct 2012 9:43 PM

I have started a New Challenge and a New Blog.
Chapter 1 is here

I'm actually really glad I rolled Deadbeat Parents for Midnight's generation, because I typically get obsessive about teaching the toddlers all their skills, and I could focus so much more on the story aspect and get my toddler/child Amaranth to do other things because she didn't have to be obsessed with skill-gaining and homework. I don't even mind not being able to pick her traits, since I normally just randomize them anyway.

calisims 19th Oct 2012 11:27 PM

Fo toddlers, I like to teach them to walk and talk and potty, but I avoid forcing them to skill on toys or books, which is why I don't really like either the Perfect Children or Deadbeat Parents roll; one is too much, the other not enough. I've always preferred leaving the toddlers alone to do whatever they want. I especially loved the toddler mat and bottomless bottle mods for TS2; when they could put themselves to bed and feed themselves, they needed almost no interaction from the adults at all. My toddlers were totally free range.
LOL, you can probably tell I'm not mommy material.
