Can I ask a few questions here, if so these are what I want to ask.
Is there any good place I can talk about my favorite family? Story progression and autonomy are two different things. Story progression is the way that EA simulates the town so that things actually happen to inactive sims. The problem is, EA's story progression is completely random, and pretty much sucks. If you want inactive sims to still have babies and whatever, but one family to be unaffected, you can use the God's Chosen People feature in AwesomeMod, which will flag a family so that they will not be candidates for story actions. They'll still age, though, unless you use the TS2-style aging feature also found in AwesomeMod. Or you can turn story progression off entirely, but your town will eventually die off if you do this. As for your second question, that's related to autonomy. Sims will still visit community lots without story progression on.

Also, about the "snubbing", the dictionary definition is "to treat with disdain or contempt, especially by ignoring." As far as I can tell, its when your sim just decides to ignore someone. I think it only shows up for teens, right? It makes sense that it'd be related to the whole rebellious/mood swings type theme in Gens. |
Do NOT use the snubbing option, it causes a stupid chain reaction (other friends teens will all end up snubbing your teen, It's just a matter of time!) and your teen will end up all alone with zero friends. x.X
The feature is pretty broken, you're supposed to be able to snub someone then be able to apologize/stop snubbing but the apologize never work. You have to select/play the other teen to actually "unsnub" your first teen, which is a pain if the snub chain reaction already happened and a dozen teens are all already snubbing your teen! Other teen will never autonomously snub your teen if you never do it. When you do it and they snub you you'll have a notification of it, like "so and so started snubbing your teen". The chain reaction is caused by the friends of the sim you are snubbing that will autonomously snub you, one every couple of hours. All snubbing automatically stops when all the involved teens become YA, however the relationships will be extremely low, down to almost enemies.*facepalm* In fact the only usefulness of it is for evil sims who love making enemies. What is baffling though is that ALL the teens will have wants to snub so and so - whatever their traits are - which is totally stupid. Not everyone is a biatch. ![]() |
A stupid question, but I'm wondering if .sims3pack files can install properly if I extract them to .package files instead of installing them through the launcher. I really hate the loading time they need to install the stuffs...

I usually depends on what is in the .sims3pack.
And as a side note, the more package files you have, the longer it takes for the game to load. |

Packages have to be "merged" to not slow the game.

Sorry if this was asked before. I always install my games in dutch and all my back-up saves are from the dutch installs. I'll be installing TS3 on my lappy and I'd like to d o so in English this time. Will my old dutch back-up saves work if I use AGS? And how would I go about having them work? Should I change the language to dutch first and them move my save files? I guess the easiest way would be to install the games in dutch and just use AGS to translate everything to English but I much prefer to have them installed in English and translate to dutch if needed. |
Do Imaginary Friends grow up with your sim through every life stage, or do they eventually get too old/"expire"? ;P Also, what happens when your sim dies? Does the IF die too?
This is, of course, for IFs who are still in doll form and haven't been made "real". |

With the punishment system added by generations, who is and is not able to punish teens and kids? The wiki seems to indicate its parents, but I think I've heard of adult siblings doing it. Is it any young adult or older in the active household?

Why are the instruments of a custom venue being stolen?
I put a stage and all four instruments in the lot so bands can play gigs, but every now and then a guitar or the drums vanish! I've actually found the drumming set inside one of my regular playable sims' inventory! I don't know if she paid for it out of the family funds or... well, you know, kleptoed it? Ok, is there any way to remove existing celebrities celebrity status? I have Twallans mod and set the number of celebs to 1/2 per neighborhood but there was apparently more than that already existing at the time. Virtually the whole neighborhood are 1/2 star celebs. Anyone know a workaround?

Is it safe to delete families from the main menu or is it a VBT, like it is in Sims 2? My menu's all cluttered cos I wanted to make all different families when I first got the game and I haven't played them since :x

Best Barn Arch
I feel really stupid for asking this, but I am having a difficult time and I don't think I should be. Pets Related, I am trying to build a new stable, but I Can Not use the "Best Barn Arch" (double arch). I have a long full 2-story wall with full terrain or floor covering, plenty of space, yet I cannot place the door/arch. The "Big Barn Arch" (single arch) works fine, I can place that no problem, but the "Best" never works unless I use moveObjects cheat, and I prefer to build w/o using that cheat. If anyone has come across this problem & found a solution, please help! Thanks

Lunar Lakes need EPs?
I have just the base game and Ambitions installed, base game updated to 1.33.2.025001, and I had just updated, so Ambitions shows updated to 4.0.87.015001. Game updates in the launcher shows that the game is up to date. Yet when I tried to install Lunar Lakes, it doesn't install, says I need to update. Does this world need EP's? I thought it was base game compatible.

Saved games not accessable after system restore
This problem is a couple of months old, but since I was here, thought I'd ask. Have a new windows 7 beast, but was having issues with my icons disappearing. Before I realized the issue was dual screens (analog and digital on the same monitor) I did system restore to get my icons back. The games that had been saved are still there, but says,"cannot load" because it may have been saved with another ep on the system. ...not... Seems like an update was undone during the restore, but it's been full updated since, and still they are not accessible.
Any tricks to get them back? Re-directing me somewhere is fine, I haven't found anything through searches. |

Anyway, on the sims forums I keep seeing people type "EA are ___". Shouldn't it be "EA is ____" ? It's bugging the hell out me. I always think of a corporation as a single entity. Sim related question: does anyone know which fog effects were used in this picture? http://simatography.webs.com/apps/p...otoid=144717183 There are about 100+ fog effects and I'm too lazy to go through all of them right now. I'm just wondering if anyone recognize them off-the-bat. |

Am I going mad or did the wall speaker from Late Night used to have three colour presets and be able to move up and down walls?
Since I've installed and fully patched Showtime the wall speaker only has one colour preset and cannot be moved up and down walls. Did it also used to be in the audio catalogue sort as I can now only find it in buydebug. |

When Showtime and the achievement system was launched, didn't EA say that they would release new achievements each week as well as EP specific ones?
Have they actually done this yet? In my game I only have 100 achievements to obtain; 50 Showtime and 50 base game. |
Someone please tell me how to get rid of the flaming pets that have suddenly emigrated into my town since I installed SHT and patch 1.33? All of a sudden every flaming household in town is adopting all these cats and dogs that have appeared out of nowhere. I have Awesome, MC and SP installed.

You know the gnomes that came with Pets to attract or repel strays and wildlife? When you set them to keep animals away, is the love heart supposed to change to a cross? I swear I saw screenshots of this somewhere but whenever I tell the gnomes to keep animals away their pose changes but the board image doesn't.

How do you 'quit' a stable gig in Showtime? Say, if you got a stable gig at the coffeehouse when you were level 4 and are now level 9 and not really interested in it.
On that matter, is there something you have to do to make said stable gigs actually happen after the original gig that turned into a stable one? |

Are helipads needed on community lots? I know you have to have one at the Sims home lot, but I was wondering if they should travel to a community lot if a helipad was needed there as well? I notice that when a sims is returning home home from work in a helicopter or while on vacation tour helipad is not needed for landing.. Thanks in advance for assistance.

You mean the time of day? It seems like they always grow up at different times for me. That could be issues with glitches/mods, though, because sometimes they que a birthday but keep dropping it, or freeze for a long time. I'm pretty sure its always been in the afternoon, though, around 6pm or after..
Once I had a sim who was supposed to age up on her last day of pregnancy, so I was expecting it to happen soon after the trip to the hospital... but she didn't age up until almost 3 days later o_o |
I'm pretty sure it's determined by what time they were born (so if a sim was born at 2 PM, they'll have their birthday at 2 PM), with pre-created sims growing up at midnight.
