Albie Laroque
[o_o Sorry it took so long. I’m slow and my internet keeps cutting on and off.]
"That's the very same thing that has been running through my mind since I met him. Granted, I've really only just met him, so I can't quite say we're friends, per say. I mean, I would say we're friends, but who knows what he'd say. We're quite different, aren't we?" Lila asked Albie frankly, wrinkling her nose. "I mean, I've heard J.D.'s reputation. You would think he'd hate someone like me," she shrugged, letting her words fall. "I don't quite get it myself." “Well, you know,” Albie shrugged. “They say opposites attract. I always thought it was an idiotic idea, but who knows, maybe it’s right?” Talking with this Lila girl was nice, it helped him avert his thoughts from his stupid mother to something a little more intriguing. A new look of mischief was chasing across his eyes, and he lowered his voice, “Maybe you’ll be the next hit couple.” He gave a little smirk, and then gestured to Lila’s completed paper. “Here, let me take that for you.” Without waiting for her response, Albie scooped Lila’s papers up as well as his own and laid them before the teacher who was clacking away at his computer. It was shortly after this that the bell rang, signifying the end of class. Albie returned to his desk and gathered together his belongings, and looked up with a vague surprise to see Lila still hovering beside him. He tossed his bag over his shoulder and together they left the room, making nonchalant small talk as they went. Albie could have sworn that he felt J.D. watching, and the thought made him shudder a little. He certainly seemed to be the jealous type, and he doubt he cared whether or not the victim was in fact innocent of the appointed crime. Lila stopped by her locker then, and began to spin the dail. Albie sensed that he should probably move along, so he opened his mouth to say his goodbyes, when abruptly a low, raspy voice snarled behind him, "Take a hike.” He had his back to the other boy, and he froze, swiveling his head slowly to look back at the boy with a mixed look of surprise and revulsion. He could feel a part of his sugary sweet shell crumbling off. Albie drew himself to full height, although this did little good, he was still somewhere a foot shorter than J.D. and probably scrawnier than him, too. He locked his luminescent gray eyes with those of the troublemaker’s and died a little inside. Albie struggled to keep himself composed, and he calmly said, “I’m sorry?” |
((no rush!! ))
"Well, you know, they say opposites attract. I always thought it was an idiotic idea, but who knows, maybe it’s right? Maybe you’ll be the next hit couple. Here, let me take that for you.” Lila's cheeks suddenly flushed with color and her eyes widened, taken aback by Albie's statement. "Wh-what? That's just ridiculous, we barely, I mean we've only...A-Albie wait!" she stammered, trying to prevent the boy from taking her paper before she could deny his point. Suddenly, her typically well-spoken tongue had contorted into a twisted knot that no longer knew how to produce any words in any human language. 'For god's sakes Lila, he was just joking,' she chided herself, shaking her head and hoping the blood had drained from her cheeks. The bell rang mercifully and she collected her things, waiting for Albie's return. Fortunately, Albie shifted the subject elsewhere and spoke mildly to her as they made their way down the hallway, pausing at her locker to get her books for the next period. She turned away from him a moment, opening her bag to retrieve a few folders, and suddenly felt the presence of a figure much larger than herself beside her. "Take a hike," the figure hissed, their voice rumbling gruffly towards Albie. Lila didn't dare raise her gaze to see who it was threatening him, and her eyes lit with panic as they settled on Albie's sage gray orbs. "I'm sorry?" Albie managed to reply with Gandhi-like calm. It was then that Lila sense something familiar about the figure, the sheer size and overwhelming presence; the confidence. She slowly tilted her neck back to gaze directly into the eyes of a fiercely warrior-esque J.D.. "J.D.?" she said slowly, blinking several times as her mind came to the understanding that it was him who had threatened Albie. "What's...going on?" |
J.D., Albie & Lila
(((ooc: *lol* Yeah, J.D. is quite charming. Not.
![]() Up close Albie didn't look quite as scrawny as he had seemed from the other side of the classroom. He was still skinny, and J.D. would (in his own opinion) break him like a twig if he got the idea to try and take J.D. on, but it would take an ounce more strength than J.D. had first thought. But that was all; an ounce. He saw the smaller boy freeze, and then straighten his back as he turned, looking at J.D. with surprise and distaste. As if pulling himself to his full height would do him any good; like it would accomplish anything other than feeding J.D.'s aggression. J.D. smirked at the boy's attempt to grow a backbone, and arrogantly cocked his head back. Through narrow slits his eyes were challenging Albie, showing him exactly what he was thinking; 'Go on. One little reason is all I need.' But that reason wouldn't present itself. At least not yet. "I'm sorry?" Albie simply said. He sounded calm, but J.D. saw in his eyes that he wasn't feeling quite as confident. But with J.D. there were only two ways; either you showed your fear of him, or, like most jocks, you were stupid enough to not back down, and ended up going home with a bloody nose. The preps, however, had a tendency to make the smarter choice, either because they were more clever than the jocks, or simply because they were cowards. Either way, J.D. usually allowed them to live. But now this one... This one was a different matter. J.D. would never in his life admit it, but this one had actually managed to make him jealous. Which, when it came down to it, only added fuel to the fire. "J.D.?" Lila's voice reached him, and caused him to glance over at her. She'd seemed afraid at first, but now the expression on her face looked more like that of confusion. "What's... going on?" she asked hesitantly. But J.D. was too busy staring down Albie to reply. "You heard me", he said to the dark-haired boy, sticking his chin out a bit, and his voice dripping with loathing. "Now scram." |
Albie Laroque
The gears were whirling loudly, and clicking into the groves of one another and trying, desperately, to get the machine to come to a conclusion. Albie was thinking, persistent to figure out how to handle the darkening situation. He knew it would be a rather unwise—no, highly foolish, decision to face J.D. down at the moment. Looking into J.D.’s eyes, he could see his gears turning as well, and he could make out the arrogance that was rising like a tide in those narrowed slits. Albie’s blood boiled at this look, how many times had he seen it before? How many times?
His gaze changed, and a new look overcame him. The dormant fire that had settled inside him was burning, consuming his every thought and threatened to melt away his mask he’d so carefully, so meticulously crafted when he transferred to Brooklake. Then what would become of him if that happened? Somewhere far away, beyond the intense stares of fire and ice, above the sound of the gears whirling, Lila called J.D.’s name. J.D.’s unyielding gaze immediately slid from the battlefield, and he looked upon Lila. “What’s going on?” he could hear Lila ask with a cautious tone, and it was in those fragile moments that the gears proceeded to fall together in a great procession, and everything clicked. Albie’s mouth dropped into a dainty little ‘O’, and he looked up at J.D. with a newfound understanding, and the fire subsided and died, and he smiled. He barely saw the hatred burning in J.D.’s eyes when his gaze found Albie’s once again, and it was as if he’d never heard him tell him to get going. He knew how to turn the tables, but he was going to have to be careful about it. “You shouldn’t let jealousy control you like that,” he grinned and twisted a lock of hair around his finger. His head cocked to the side, and his smile twisted into a fox’s cunning smirk. “I’m not interested in Lila like that, if that’s why you’re so concerned.” Inside he was a little worried, perhaps he would be hit? He hadn’t gotten mixed up in a fight in a long time… and although he could usually take guys twice his size, he didn't know if he could handle J.D. He was an unfamiliar opponent, supposedly the most powerful young man in the school. No, Albie didn't think he could take him, especially not now. Mentally he braced himself, but he remained physically relaxed. He didn’t think J.D. would do anything too extreme in front of Lila, so long as he didn’t push the wrong buttons. Albie hoped against hope that he hadn’t pushed too far. |
J.D., Albie & Lila
Seeing the smile appear and widening on Albie's lips caused an expression of skepticism to dart across J.D.'s face. What was that dimwit smiling at? Just what the hell did he think there was to smile about?
But no sooner had the thought entered his mind before Albie answered his unspoken question; "You shouldn’t let jealousy control you like that," he said, hitting the nail right on the head, and causing J.D. to blink out of sheer surprise. "I’m not interested in Lila like that, if that’s why you’re so concerned.” The remark had indeed stunned J.D., but only for a few moments. Like always when he felt cornered, anger shot through his body and his eyes burned with hatred. After all, J.D. wasn't the hardest person to provoke. Quite the opposite. He was ready to attack, just like a trapped animal, but for some reason Lila's presence held him back. "Me, jealous of what?" he spat, his voice overflowing with contempt. "You?" He inched closer, seeking to get Albie to back down, this time threatening him with his entire appearance rather than just his eyes. Much like he'd done with Lila during the first couple of minutes of yesterday's encounter. He was visioning himself wiping that disgusting smirk from Albie's face, and sending the smaller boy flying backwards by punching him right in the face, or even just burying his fist in his gut. It usually didn't take J.D. long to respond to those impulses, but this time, he settled for the satisfaction of just knowing that he could beat Albie to a pulp if he wanted to. "Why don't you just scamper off to the rest of your puppet friends, like a good little prep?" he sneered. "I'm sure one of them is in dire need of some *sskissing, and we don't want you to miss that opportunity, now do we?" |
Normally, Lila would have burst out into a mile-wide smile in this kind of discussion. The fact that someone would even suggest someone experiencing feelings of jealousy on her behalf was somewhat unheard of, and greatly flattering. Her cheeks would have flushed the same crimson hue they had in the classroom only minutes ago when Albie had spoke of the very matter, but instead, her face was oddly pale, devoid of it's usual rosy warmth. She was worried for the two boys, and felt completely helpless.
Momentarily she marveled at Albie's physical and mental fortitude--managing to stand straight and face a raging J.D.. It was no easy task. It took courage, and she couldn't name many students in the school who would willingly go up against J.D. "Me, jealous of what?" The venom in J.D.'s voice surprised Lila. There was a viciousness, an intensity she hadn't encountered in him yet. This was perhaps the side of him from which he drew his reputation. "You?" The word shot from his tongue like a single deadly dagger. Lila stood quietly behind the towering back of J.D. and watched weakly. Her mind whirred madly, trying to discern how to neutralize the situation. J.D.'s anger was escalating quickly, and she knew that she had nowhere near the physical prowess necessary to stop him. "Why don't you just scamper off to the rest of your puppet friends, like a good little prep? I'm sure one of them is in dire need of some *sskissing, and we don't want you to miss that opportunity, now do we?" J.D. was closing in on Albie, shortening the proximity that distanced the two boys. Lila took a step forward, hovering behind J.D. 'What the hell do I do?!' she screamed internally, her brain crashing against the inside of her scull, nearly beating itself to a pulp trying to think of a way to stop J.D. In an instant, she gave up and let her instinct take over. Her slender arm shot out quickly and she took ahold of J.D.'s hand, interlacing his fingers in her own. She tugged gently on him, as if a tacit call for him to move toward her and away from Albie. "J.D., please." she said softly, plaintively. "Albie's done nothing wrong. You're not like this," her head hung lowly, her expression crestfallen. Although his back was to her, she prayed that he would turn and look at her for only a moment--long enough to break the anger that had seemingly taken root in him so quickly. |

Dana Scherer: Reading Class
((OOC: Alright! I can't wait to get started.!))
Dana roamed the hallways, fiddling with a pencil in her hand, wondering about her hext big story she was going to write. Yes, she was a journalist, or at least striving to be. She had amazing talent in the writing field, stories, articles, whatever you could think of that had to do with a pencil and paper. Coming from another state, Dana wasn't familiar with her new surroundings. This was much different than private school, and probably much more interesting, with gossip and drama, which at the time, was exactly what she needed. A big juicy story to get her into the school paper. She took out a piece of paper with much needed information of what she was to do and where she was to go. Scanning over the list one more time, she finally stumbled upon her locker number. Looking to her left, she counted the lockers until she came up to her own. Opening it, she sat down her backpack, and lifted her books into her locker. She would design it with pretty photos and other things later. She then closed her locker, and put the lock on it, snapping it shut. "There," she said, dusting her pants off. "Now just where do I go?" She opened her folded paper once again, saw that her next clasee was reading, then quickly took off into the classroom. Knocking on the door, she stepped inside, hoping that she wouldn't need an introduction. Sadly, the teacher called over, and intoduced her to the class. As quickly as possible, she sat down in the second row, seeing as the first row was completely taken, and began to fiddle with her pencil once again. Dana caught a glimpse of everyone around the room. Hopefully she would find a story soon enough. |
Georgina Briggs
OOC: WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! A fellow paper person to talk to. I've been SO bloody bored it's not funny. :howdy:
Georgina turned around from her seat in the front row and looked the new girl over. "Dana Scherer right" she said, pushing her glasses up her nose "You're on my paper. I'm Georgina Briggs, the editor" |
Dana Scherer | Reading Class
"Dana Sherer right?" a voice said. "Your on my paper. I'm Georgina Briggs, the editor."
"Yes, that's me," she replied. "Nice to meet you Georgina." She extended her hand out to her, giving a smile as she did so. So she's the editor huh? she thought, raising her eyebrow. Just who I need to talk to. "So, what's going on at the school? Any juicy gossip I could dig up?" Dana wanted to please the editor as much as possible, but also get some info on what could help her write an article. "Who's on the school paper with you?" She paused, realizing that she was probably overloading Georgina with questions. "Sorry," she said, laughing a little. "Just want to get a feel of the place." If she wasn't careful, people could start to think she was nosy, and she was, but she didn't want to let anyone else know that. She turned to face the teacher, then quickly took out her book. As nice as Georgina was, she didn't want to get into trouble for talking too much. |
J.D., Albie & Lila
(((ooc: Well, since cherryp3 isn't responding, I'm going to, since I'll be away for the next 16-20 hours. Sorry so short. Started out fine and then got writer's block. *sigh*)))
Just as J.D. was about to grab Albie firmly by the collar of his shirt and shove him up against the lockers, in pursuit of seeing the usual fear in his opponent's eyes, Lila spoke, her voice cutting like a sword through his rage. "J.D., please", she said, and suddenly he felt her small hand in his, pulling gently, urging him to back away from Albie. "Albie's done nothing wrong. You're not like this." J.D.'s head snapped back, a look of sudden and complete confusion written on his face as he looked at her. It almost looked as if his jaw was about to drop. He couldn't believe it! He'd been prepared for her to tell him off, to yell at him. But he wasn't prepared for that tone in her voice, and add to that the sad expression on her face... He hadn't been prepared for that, and thus he had no response or defence against it. It knocked the wind out of him entirely. He felt completely flattened, and it all left him unable to do anything but simply stare at her for a few moments. "What...?", he finally said, one word spoken slowly as if he was unsure of wether or not what had just happened had been all in his imagination. |
Essa| New Guy| New Girl| Mayham a foot?
Chemistry class ended. Essa packed his things and waited for the throng of students to leave the class room, before he set out.
Thank God that’s over. Didn’t think I could stand it any minute longer. At least my last Chem. teacher made it fun, not this guy. As Essa began walking down the hallway to put his Chemistry books, he began reminiscing about life in Kuwait with his friends and how they’re doing right now. God knows, that if that teacher would have treated them like this back home he’d be fired with a one-way ticket out of the country. But I digress. “Damn it! How the Hell do these things work?” Essa said his he tried to unlock it for the billionth time. A lanky teenage boy approached him. “Here let me get that for you. What’s the combination number?” Essa stumbled as he said the numbers. “You okay?” The boy asked as he opened Essa’s locker. “Yeah I’m fine. Thanks for helping me out.” He raised his hand in greeting. “I’m Essa” “I’m Josh.” He said holding Essa’s hand…a little too long. The bell rang, signaling the next class was about to start. “Got to go, I have English class. See you later!” Essa waved as he ran to his next class. “This is our new student. She just transferred from out of state.” Essa heard his English teacher say. Luckily he was able to slip into class with out her knowing, and sit down. |

'We've got a few good people so far" said Georgina, sounding altogether bored with class "But I do try to avoid putting a bunch of mindless gossip in my paper. If you want to write that you'd better go somewhere else". Se smirked and turned back from Dana's desk to the front of the room.

"We've got a few good people so far," Georgina replied. "But I do try to avoid putting a bunch of mindless gossip in my paper. If you want to write that you'd better go somewhere else." She raised an eyebrow as Georgina smirked at her and turned to the front of the room.
"Maybe I will," Dana said. Georgina was the kind of person she liked to be around with, she had spunk, not afraid to say something. She knew that maybe they would clash at times, seeing as they both don't like putting up with other people's crap, but she didn't feel like arguing. Turning around, she saw a boy walk in late to class. Wonder why he showed up late, she thought, smiling towards him. Dana had never been late to class before, because of two reasons. 1) because she didn't want to get into trouble, and 2) she didn't have much reason to do so, she didn't usually make friends. The reason she didn't have many friends is because she usually managed to dig up dirt on them. To her, she had to find a story first, and make friends later. Didn't mean she couldn't make friends again though. She watched as he sat down, and extended a hand to him. "Dana," she said. |
((We're in english now; chem ended. Although it hasn't officially started yet; someone want to be the english prof?

Essa turned to the girl. “Hello! I’m Essa” He said cheerfully, as he placed his palm face down on his heart, and bowed his head. “So where are you from Essa?” Dana asked innocently “I’m from Kuwait. We just moved here.” “Why?” Dana asked, again. “Ms. Scherer, Mr. Mudaf I don’t know how things are done you’re you both come from but here at Brooklake High we do things a little differently. Don’t talk while I took! Understood?” Their teacher said sternly, eyeing them both. “Sorry.” The two teens replied sheepishly. “Good. I’ll let it slip this time.” She turned back to the class and continued her lecture. “Now as you all know…” My father is a diplomat and we were transferred here so that relationships between our two nations improve. Essa wrote on a part of his notebook, before tearing it apart and giving it to Dana under his desk. ((OoC: Feel free to ask me questions Supersim, and if wondering how my character would reply just pm me! ^_^ Also I thought Chem was over? English is my 2nd period...>_>)) |

((Oo Ok thank you so much schellikins))
Naomi heard the bell ring telling that they had to go to their next class. She was surprised to see that Jamison and her both had the same english class together too! Usually she never had any classes with her friends and she was surprised. They walked to the English classroom hand in hand. They made such a cute couple...Naomi couldn't deny that. She hoped that he would love her daughter when he met her. She hoped that Jamison would be there the day that she told her daughter that she wasn't her sister, in fact she was actually her mother. Minutes before the arrived at the class the bell ring, letting them know that they were late. Naomi didn't really care just as long as she was with Jamison. The only thing that worried her was the fact that he was an achiever...he might not like her bad habits of not doing homework or always being late to class. In her heart she deeply wanted him to accept her, but she knew that he may not like what she does. When the arrived to the class they both found seats next to eachother and sat down in them, with the teacher glaring at their tardiness. |
Dana Scherer | English Class
((OOC: Oh, I thought it was Reading Class, unless that's the same thing as English. I can be so stupid sometimes. Black-Barook-thanks for telling me. I may pm you sooner or later.))
Dana looked over when Essa pushed a note over onto her desk.My father was a diplomat and we were transferred here so that relationships between our two nations improve Interesting, she thought. Seems very complicated, she wrote in her notebook. I just moved here because of the great "atmosphere" my mom thought it would creat for me. She then teared the piece of paper out and passed it over to Essa. He seemed friendly, and very eager to tell her about his life. Would make a great story, Dana thought smiling a little. But no, I can't do that again, no, no, no. She blocked that thought out of her head and turned to the front of the room and wrote down the notes that were being written on the board. After writing what little was on the board, she looked at the clock, wondering when class would be over. Seeing as how she was amazing at english already, learning information that she already knew just seemed pointless. She knew she was being cocky and what not, but hey, she was good at it. Hearing the door open woke Dana from her thoughts, and she turned to see two kids come in the classroom hand in hand. She raised an eyebrow, and turned to the teacher who seemed very upset. She couldn't wait to find something great for her next story. |
Georgina Briggs
***OOC: I dunno what we're supposed to be doing in class, but I read this in English when i was in this grade so meh.***
Georgina watched as Essa and Dana passed notes back and forth. "Well" she thought, pulling out her copy of Macbeth and skimming through it "At least the people on my paper seem to be getting along. Less chance of a bunch of egos and drama queens clashing like last year". She smiled to herself as she came to her favourite part in the book, barely glancing at the two latecomers. |
Albie Laroque
[My apologies. :{ I had a horrid case of writer’s block, and couldn’t think of anything for Albie to say in response to that and then… I went out with some friends >_>’’. However, my internet is cutting on and off at the moment, so if I disappear for a while, I’m really sorry. :{]
“Me, jealous of what?” J.D. questioned, and the arrogance was leaving a fine trail of hatred and fury in its wake. “You?” A sneer twisted onto his lips as he drew in, and Albie stumbled backwards a few steps. J.D. continued mercilessly, “Why don't you just scamper off to the rest of your puppet friends, like a good little prep? I'm sure one of them is in dire need of some *sskissing, and we don't want you to miss that opportunity, now do we?” J.D. hovered ever closer, so much, in fact, that Albie could feel the heat of his breath. The smaller boy suddenly felt like a deer trapped in the headlights of an oncoming truck and his entire body froze. Why did J.D. intimidate him so? He wasn’t what one might call beefy, in fact he was somewhat lanky and he’d seen more ferocious looking people…but…he forced the truth into his mind. They were nothing more than puppets, with Albie occassionally pulling their strings with a sugary smile to get something that he wanted. But, it wasn’t as if they hadn’t used him on more than one occasion, after all it was what preps did. Were they friends? He would hardly call them that. But…if they weren’t his friends, then who was? The truth could be a terrible monster, and sometimes Albie liked hiding behind rose-colored glasses rather than facing reality. Albie gulped and was about to open his mouth to speak when Lila intervened. Her voice was so broken as she tugged on J.D.’s hand, and the earnesty in her tone caused Albie’s eyes to widen. Even J.D. seemed caught off guard when he caught sight of the melancholy in her eyes. Albie knew the entire thing was his fault. He’d known that J.D. was the jealous type, and he’d known they’d been talking. Yet he had insisted on playing with fire, and dragged Lila along with him. He’d put enough damage on their friendship as it was and, if he stayed, there was a chance something worse could happen. The small boy frowned and gave Lila a somber stare. “Lila, I-I’m sorry. I’ll go, I should have just left in the first place,” he produced a small, slightly dejected smile. “It was nice meeting you, and…whatever. Maybe I’ll see you around.” He was careful not to look at J.D. as he turned to leave. |
