((Oh, there's no rush Cherry! We all have real lives, and we can't put this before that of course, haha. Don't fret about being able to post or not, because I completely understand internet being a pain. No worries! :] ))
How had things escalated so quickly? One moment, she had been lightheartedly laughing alongside Albie, the next the poor boy was cracking his shoulder bones against metal lockers to avoid being pummeled by J.D. Her head spun slightly, unable to cope with the rapid series of events that had occurred. She watched as J.D. finally turned to face her, awe-struck and silent. Lila watched him, waited for him to say something. His gaze was unsteady, and his mouth had slackened slightly, the tenseness in his features lessened. Perhaps he was coming out of his rage? "What?" He finally managed, eyes wide and unsure. Lila nodded weakly to him. "You don't have to do this. You don't have to be this way, J.D. You're not like this, you're not..." she murmured almost inaudibly, fighting with her own words. She couldn't tell him who she thought he was, because she barely knew him. For all she knew, this was how J.D. typically acted, and she had caught him on a good day. But she had to believe that wasn't true; she knew that she had seen some good in him. Brief as it might have been. She couldn't speak, because she didn't know what to say. Lila just wished that she could have prevented this whole debacle. Looking up again she saw Albie stirring, providing her with a somber glance before speaking. “Lila, I-I’m sorry. I’ll go, I should have just left in the first place. It was nice meeting you, and…whatever. Maybe I’ll see you around.” Lila's lips parted, frantically searching for the words she desperately needed to utter. What words could right this situation? None. "A-Albie, no! It's not you're fault, please. Wait--" but before she could finish her sentence to call him back, Albie had turned and started off down the hallway, brushing past the two of them quietly. Lila stood there for a moment, her back to J.D., head angled at the nearest doorway. Words escaped her; she suddenly felt very guilty, for causing such a scene. Her breathing was still slightly sporadic, disturbed by the adrenaline that had rushed through her veins. Distantly she could hear the bell ringing, calling the stragglers to class. "Come on," she murmured softly, not moving. "Let's get to class before we're late." |
J.D. & Lila
(((ooc: cherryp3, no worries. Didn't mean to rush you.
![]() "You don't have to do this." Lila seemed to struggle to speak, forcing the words out of her mouth. "You don't have to be this way, J.D. You're not like this, you're not..." Her voice trailed off, leaving J.D. to wonder just what the heck it was that he wasn't. He wasn't like "this"? What did that mean? He'd always been told this was exactly what he was; a bad seed, a troublemaker, a jail sentence waiting to happen. He'd heard it for so long that he'd stopped caring. And now here Lila was, telling him he wasn't like this. Why? "Lila, I-I’m sorry... I’ll go, I should have just left in the first place." Albie's voice cut through J.D.'s confusion, and made him once again turn his eyes to the dark-haired boy. He'd forgotten Albie even existed. Until now. Eyeing him through narrowing slits once again, J.D. saw the look on his face, saw that he seemed rattled, and he recalled seeing him stumble backwards just before Lila had interevened. So he was showing his fear, finally? Good. It was about time he realized J.D. wouldn't be challenged by a measly prep. Watching as Albie turned to scurry down the hallway, carefully avoiding to look at him, J.D. felt the familiar satisfaction of having won the battle, and marked his territory. Not that he considered Lila his territory exactly, but... He didn't really know what he considered her, but he knew he'd wanted to talk to her, and that was more important than Albie talking to her about his new pair of jeans or whatever, that were "like, OMG, so cool!" After this, however, Albie was free to talk to her all he wanted, because now he had shown that he was afraid of J.D., and so he wouldn't dare to make a move on Lila even if he wanted to. But J.D. had to wonder to himself... Why exactly was it that he was being so possessive about her? After all, he hardly knew her, he'd only met her the day before. But she'd been different. She hadn't treated him like scum. She hadn't even looked at him like she thought he was scum. Well, except for the first few minutes. Instead she'd stood up for him, when she didn't really have to. She'd touched him, when she didn't really have to. And she'd hugged him; something no one except his girlfriends had dared to do, and sometimes not even they had had the guts to put their arms around him without first being given the go-ahead. If trying to explain it to someone else, he'd probably call what he had done an attempt to rescue a human being from being turned into yet another Barbie doll, but he had never had a talent for lying to himself, so convincing himself of that simply didn't work. Maybe he should just face the possibility that she'd actually gotten to him? "A-Albie, no!" Yet again he was brought back to reality by Lila's voice, calling out after Albie, the little rat. "It's not you're fault, please. Wait--" But Albie had disappeared in the crowded hallway, and for a moment Lila just stood there, a few feet infront of J.D. and her back turned towards him. "Come on," she finally said in a low voice as the bell rang, but she didn't move. "Let's get to class before we're late." "I don't want to go to class," J.D. said firmly, folding his arms across his chest. "I want to talk." He probably sounded like a stubborn three year old, but he didn't care. He'd come over there to talk to her (well, partly), and so talk they would. |
"I don't want to go to class," J.D.'s voice was resolute, and almost as a show of his determination he crossed his arms before his broad chest. "I want to talk."
Her heart was still thudding manicly against the walls of her own chest. Lila wasn't entirely sure why; was it the fear from the past ten minutes? Or was it something else? Anger? Frustration? Or perhaps something else still. The only movement she made was raising a hand to her temple, allowing her eyes to close. She couldn't bear to look at J.D.--she didn't know how she would react. A fear grew in her that she would fall apart, or scream at him. The intensity of her emotions frightened her. "What?" she murmured curtly, cutting off her voice before it could crack. "Let's talk then." |
J.D. & Lila
"What?" Lila said, her voice sharp and edgy. "Let's talk then."
J.D. blinked with surprise. He hadn't expected her to comply without at least making a comment about being late. And he didn't like that short tone in her voice. Apparently his brusque intrusion on her and Albie's conversation had disrupted her playful and easy-going mindset from yesterday. Although he didn't understand why, he suddenly felt like a bull in a china shop. It hadn't been his intention to bring her down, to make her this disheartened. He almost felt guilty. But he hadn't had any choice, right? "Okay...", he said, wishing she'd turn around to look at him, and dreading it at the same time. The turn of events had almost made him forget what exactly it was that he wanted to talk to her about. During a few moments of silence he racked his brain, trying to think of his reasons for intruding. Then he remembered. "What happened yesterday?" he asked. "What was up with the..." He briefly fell silent again, searching for an appropriate word. "... running off like that?" he finally finished with a small, dejected gesture when he didn't find a better way to put it. |

((OOC: Pixie i'm a little confused about your post... Minutes before the arrived at the class the bell ring, letting them know that they were late. Naomi didn't really care just as long as she was with Jamison. The only thing that worried her was the fact that he was an achiever...he's a normie
![]() Jamison and Naomi walked in class together, a little late and the teacher seemed to be a little upset. "Here we go again..." he mumbled and rolled his eyes, thinking of Mr. Chandler. They sat down on seats next to each other and watched the teacher glaring at them. "Sorry!?" he just said and looked back at Naomi, with a smile. He was really excited about meeting her daughter after school and wondered what she would look or be like! |
"Okay..." J.D. managed slowly, allowing a silence to settle between them before continuing. "What happened yesterday? What was up with the..." he paused, as if searching for the appropriate way to express his thoughts. "... running off like that?" he gestured indistinctly, seemingly as unsure of himself as she was of herself.
Lila had been so distracted she had almost completely forgotten leaving him abruptly yesterday. How odd, that it felt so far off now. She remained silent a moment longer as she attempted to decide whether or not she wanted to discuss a personal matter with J.D. It was something she rarely mentioned to people, and she wasn't certain if now--of all times--would be the best time to start. Still, as she stared at the tile beneath her feet, she found herself unable to keep things from him, and her lips began to move before she could direct them on what to say. "My brother's...sick," she paused, checking her voice. Swallowing hard, she raised her head slightly to look at the ceiling while biting the inside of her lip. "He went to the hospital, so I had to be there," she cleared her throat and waved a hand through the air dismissively, as if it wasn't of importance. "I'm sorry I left so abruptly. The, uh, vice principal...he didn't give you any trouble, right?" |
((The one part where it says "that the were late for class"...it's supposed to be a they o_o. Oops...I totaly didn't notice that he was a normie...StyleQueen told me that he was an achiever....My bad))
The teacher didn't seem to like the fact that they were holding hands and were late to class. She looked at them as if they were just stripping right infront of everybody. The look just said "How could you two? Be late for my class! Oh I never!" Naomi was used to seeing this look by now, it was a common stuckup teacher look. The only good thing is, is that the teachers here weren't as stubborn as the teachers back in the subburbs. They didn't really even care if the students learned or not...they were just happy to get their paycheck (which was larger then a regular teachers paycheck) and buy a bunch of crap with it. But from time to time they would act like they cared, but they seemed as if they were part of the stuckup crowd and would say stupid things like "I'm getting payed to teach you...so you better pay attention." Didn't they know that we didn't have to be listening for them to get payed? Naomi shook the thoughs out of her mind and took a seat next to Jamison. "I don't think this teacher is going to be the sweetest cookie in the cookie jar...What do you think?" She smiled at him the looked up at the teacher writing something on the board, but to Naomi it just looked like chicken stratch....this woman just couldn't write! |

"You're kidding me right Essa" said Georgina, turning around in her desk "You're writing for my paper and you don't know who Shakespeare is? He's one of the most famous and talented writers of all time. And Macbeth happens to be my favourite play of his".

J.D. & Lila - Hallway/Lockers
"My brother's... sick."
Those words had J.D. instantly regretting he'd asked. It was obviously an even more delicate matter than he had expected. So delicate, in fact, that he didn't know quite how to handle it. He wasn't really the sensitive, comforting type, he was used to being blunt and unyielding, sometimes harsh even. "He went to the hospital", Lila continued before he'd managed to find something to say. "So I had to be there." She waved her hand slightly, her back still turned. "I'm sorry I left so abruptly. The, uh, vice principal... he didn't give you any trouble, right?" J.D. hesitated. It seemed she wanted to leave the subject of her sick brother. That much he could actually grasp. But he still wanted to say something, let her know that it wasn't something he'd just shrug his shoulders at. That he wasn't cold. "Uh... Yeah...", he started, unsure of how to work a comment about her brother into the conversation. "He let me go." He paused, struggling to find those words he rarely used. "Thanks...", he finally managed. "For... You know... Saving my *ss and all." Another moment of hesitation, and then he carefully added; "And... Sorry 'bout your brother. I didn't... I mean... I... You know..." With a sigh he silenced himself. The words simply escaped him, so he was probably better off shutting up now, before he came across as a complete neanderthal. |

Now Dana had the chance to roll her eyes. Bragging much? she thought to herself and continued to jot down notes from the board. One more comment like that and her ego could be the size of France. She could tell Georgina was not going to be easy to get along with. She was about to tell Georgina to shove it, but she was her editor after all. If I become her enemy I could get kicked off the paper, she thought. Besides, she probably had some good in her, well... maybe deep down inside she had some, I mean really deep. Sighing she looked over a Essa, and hoped he didn't become too upset by the comment that was made. She smiled at him and whispered, "Don't mind her, she didn't mean any harm by it." At least that's what Dana believed, she probably didn't say it to make him upset. She then smiled at Georgina and then turned back to the board. Yawning slightly, she realized how boring this class was. When would they do something exciting? |

J.D. & Lila - Hallway/Lockers
((ooc: thanks for the understanding, Atropa! Everything worked out fine, thankfully, so I'm back! ))
"Uh... Yeah...he let me go," J.D. managed to murmur, the words somewhat dragging from his lips. Lila felt the tension from the last few minutes easing out of her slightly. Hearing the more relaxed (albeit it a bit unsteady) tone of J.D.'s voice helped to slow the pace of her racing heart, and steadied her breathing. Her hand fell to her side and she opened her eyes, peering about the now empty hallway as J.D. spoke again. "Thanks..." the word caught her off guard, so she spun around quickly, her thick waves of chestnut hair whipping about behind her like a silk curtain. It was the first time she had looked him in the eye for the past half hour, and she felt herself freeze for a moment. "For... You know... Saving my *ss and all." The second phrase had finally registered, and a small and delicate smile creased her lips. "I think you can take care of yourself, J.D. I doubt I really did much good, but I was happy to at least try to save your *ss. The man was being completely unfair. I couldn't stand by and watch him treat you like that without at least trying." After a moment of silence, J.D. carefully and delicately added, "And... Sorry 'bout your brother. I didn't... I mean... I... You know..." Her smile grew slightly, and it was apparent that Lila was rapidly attempting to brush away her own worries. 'Now isn't the time,' she whispered to herself, 'To burden him with your baggage. He barely knows you, stop spilling your worries.' A deep sigh slid through her mouth and she brushed a few strands of hair from her emerald eyes. "Forget it. Thank you, but please, it's nothing you should apologize for." She gave him a nod and a soft smile before taking a step toward him and brushing a few of his bangs from his intense eyes. "You know, I think I've heard you say 'thanks' and 'sorry' to me more in these past two days than the total number of words you've ever said to me before." She grinned and added, "And by the way-- you're a bit schizophrenic or manic depressive or something, you know. Honestly." |
J.D. & Lila
(((ooc: Glad to hear it!
![]() When Lila spun around and looked at him, J.D. could only look her in the eye for a few moments. He usually had no problem with staring down people. Heck, he'd just done it with Albie. But this situation was completely different. He felt awkward, having just treaded onto unfamiliar ground. But he didn't want to stare at the ground, so instead he glanced around the hallway. After all, he didn't want to come across as a sissy. It was bad enough that he felt like one. "I think you can take care of yourself, J.D.", Lila said. "I doubt I really did much good, but I was happy to at least try to save your *ss. The man was being completely unfair. I couldn't stand by and watch him treat you like that without at least trying." J.D. looked up, able to look at her again after hearing her first sentence. A small, ironic smiled curled the corner of his mouth, but he said nothing. She had saved his behind, and she knew it. Even if she pretended not to. There was no way the vice principal would've believed him alone. "Forget it", she then continued as a reply to his comment about her brother. "Thank you, but please, it's nothing you should apologize for." And before he knew what was happening, she'd taken a step forward to brush a few strands of hair from his face. It was a move that took him completely off guard, and left him staring at her, almost as if in shock. No one did something like that. No one. They just didn't. His mother had once had a habit of doing it, as a loving gesture, but as he had gotten older, he had started dodging her attempts, sneering at her to leave him alone, to not touch him. And now Lila did it. And she'd hugged him. But the weirdest thing of all was... He didn't mind. "You know," she said with a soft smile. "I think I've heard you say 'thanks' and 'sorry' to me more in these past two days than the total number of words you've ever said to me before." Then the smile grew into a grin as she added: "And by the way-- you're a bit schizophrenic or manic depressive or something, you know. Honestly." At first she recieved a defensive glare. J.D. wasn't used to being under the microscope. Not like this. It left him feeling vulnerable. And he hated that feeling, with a passion. But as their eyes met, he realized she wasn't out to get him. She never was. He really should've learnt that by now. Another vague smile appeared on his lips. "And just what's that supposed to mean?" he inquired. |
Lila watched him evade her gaze and couldn't help but giggle. J.D. had one of the most intense stares she had ever witnessed, and yet at the moment he refused to direct it her way. Had she said something to upset him? She didn't think so. After she had gently brushed his hair from his eyes, she saw his elusive eyes finally meet hers--sporting a most shocked and surprised glint. This only made her smile widen even more.
Having half-jokingly poked fun at him with her accusation of his might-be mental imbalance, Lila watched J.D.'s face flit into a defensive stare. She mentally flinched, worried that she had pushed him too much. They had, afterall, just skimmed by a serious altercation only moments ago, and who was to say that J.D. had really calmed down yet? Her eyes fell momentarily and she glanced back up, darting towards J.D.'s. This time, however, his eyes were there to meet hers and were accompanied by a vague smile. "And just what's that supposed to mean?" J.D. inquired and Lila quirked a brow. A pang of relief shot through her as she realized that he wasn't angry. "I think you know what I mean, J.D." she said with a smirk. "One minute, you're Mr. Bad*ss, the next you're apologizing and acting like an eight year old. You're not as tough as you think you are, I think. And what's your problem with Albie anyway?" as soon as she had let the last sentence slip by, she found herself swallowing. Perhaps that was still a sore subject? She didn't want to just ignore the fact that he had nearly mauled Albie, but maybe now wasn't the best time. Quickly recovering, she flashed him a sly smirk. "If I didn't know any better," Lila tilted her head to the side inquisitively, "I'd say you were jealous." |
"I think you know what I mean, J.D." Lila said, a smirk playing on her lips. "One minute, you're Mr. Bad*ss, the next you're apologizing and acting like an eight year old. You're not as tough as you think you are, I think."
Now that was a label J.D. couldn't take. "An eight year old?!" he almost bellowed in protest, clearly frowning. But only for a moment. Although unmistakably offended, he still couldn't suppress a smile from spreading on his lips. Granted, he probably didn't come across as the nicest and most laidback kind of guy, but he did have a sense of humour and self-irony. And it seemed Lila was already an expert at triggering it. "And what's your problem with Albie anyway?" Lila continued. She'd barely finished the sentence before a look of dread shadowed her features. But just as quickly as it had appeared, it was gone, and replaced by a shrewd smirk. "If I didn't know any better," she added, tilting her head to the side, "I'd say you were jealous." J.D. simply looked at her for a few seconds, slightly taken aback by her boldness to corner him like this. But he wasn't left speechless for long. In a flash his usual brassy composure was restored. "What if I was?" he challenged, cocking his head and raising his chin slightly in an arrogant motion. |
J.D. and Lila/Hallway&Lockers
"An eight year old?!" J.D. nearly roared in objection, returning to his more typical brash emotional state. Lila laughed outrightly at his offended expression, crossing her arms over her chest and mock-glowering at him. She threw her head sideways, rolling her eyes dramatically, and drawled in the deepest voice she could muster:
"I'm J.D., and I'll kick your *ss, but then I'll feel bad about it because despite popular belief, I do have a heart and conscience under this cold exterior," She held the rouse a moment longer but then burst out into a child-like giggle, the tension from the rest of the morning easing out of her like a balloon slowly deflating. Glancing up at J.D., Lila recognized the shock registered on his face. The jealousy comment, she thought, had reached him. Even she had been slightly surprised by her audacity; she was just far too comfortable with him-- but because of that, she was never sure if her comments would incite his wrath or not. After a moment J.D. regained his normal tough-as-nails exterior, but eyed her with a raised chin and bold gaze. "So what if I was?" This time, it was Lila who was taken aback, completely unexpecting of his response. She had been anticipating a grumbled, 'Psh! Hardly!' or some other stammered denial, but he had caught her entirely off guard instead. The surprise had appeared in her expression, but she quickly brushed it away, resolved to hold her own against J.D. She could be just as bold as he was, Lila told herself. "Well," she began, her gaze unfaltering, "I would say that you shouldn't have been. And if you really were jealous," Lila took another step towards him, having to tilt her head up slightly to be able to look into the eyes of the boy who towered over her. "Then you really are like an eight year old." She grinned, quirking a brow as if challenging him. |
J.D. & Lila - Lockers/Hallway
"I'm J.D., and I'll kick your *ss," Lila drawled, causing yet another frown on J.D.'s part. "But then I'll feel bad about it because despite popular belief, I do have a heart and conscience under this cold exterior."
J.D. shot her a glare, this time his eyes almost devoid of the previous glint of humour. She was starting to go too far, and was having too much fun at his expense. Still, he couldn't bring himself to intimidate her again. "I'll kick your *ss, if you don't watch it", he growled however. "Don't think I won't." He had to do something to try and keep his dignity. Or at least what was left of it. Though seeing the surprise on her face as he called her on the jealousy comment, satisfied him enough to allow the other comment to slide. It was good to know he wasn't the only one to feel like he was out on a limb. But Lila quickly recovered, stepping closer and gazing up at him with a slight grin. "Well," she said in reply to his dare. "I would say that you shouldn't have been. And if you really were jealous, then you really are like an eight year old." J.D. scowled slightly. That was not at all what he had wanted to hear. How could he possibly give an honest reply now, without totally loosing his pride and dignity? He'd never admit to jealousy, not if he'd end up labelling himself "an eight year old" in the process. But looking down into her eyes, and the challenge written on her face, gave him an idea. He'd show her. Stepping that close to him could indeed be perceived as a challenge. But it could also be perceived as an invitation. He decided he'd act on the latter. Without saying a word he slowly leant down, just a little bit, his face inching closer to her. His gaze locked with hers, and she could feel his warm breath against her skin. His lips started coming closer, as if he was going to kiss her. But just shy of his lips touching hers, he turned his head slightly to the left, his lips ending up brushing against her ear instead. "Lucky for me I wasn't then," he breathed. And with that he pulled back and squared his shoulder, only to then move past her, towards the classroom. "Let's go", he said, without even giving her a glance. "I've got one week in detention to look forward to. I can live without another." (((ooc: Don't take it the wrong way. He's not trying to be mean, really. He just wants to get back at her for not giving him the reaction he wanted. *lol*))) |
((ooc: haha, no way! I thought it was a perfect reaction for his character. He's absolutely hilarious. xD ))
"I'll kick your *ss, if you don't watch it," J.D. growled fiercely after her slight mocking. "Don't think I won't." Lila dropped her hands and shrugged her shoulders, as if a tacit way of saying 'Fine, fine. I'll back off.' Although she noted the new intensity in his eyes, she still felt somewhat sure that the kindness he was so reluctant to admit would prevent him from really lashing out at her. At least not yet. "Oh, I would never think that. Even if you do have a heart," she gave him a softer smile, less full of jest and entirely earnest, "You could still probably snap me in half." Lila glanced at her watch, realizing just how much of class they were missing. In the two days she had known J.D., she had already skipped class twice. Silence settled over the two of them as there was no one else in the hallway to disturb them, and he scowled at her momentarily after hearing her response. Was it that harsh? She had merely meant that he was being possessive of things that he liked, as small children do. 'Well,' she supposed, 'calling him a child wasn't exactly flattering. I mean, would you want someone to tell you that you're acting childish? It's not exactly a compliment...' Lila had become so wrapped up in her own thoughts that she hadn't been entirely aware of J.D.'s sudden close proximity to her face. It took every ounce of self-control in her small frame not to flinch and yelp out when she realized just how close the tall boy had moved to her. There was no masking her shock this time, as her eyes widened enormously and her lips parted slightly--desperately trying to form the words that her brain now no longer knew how to produce. Her breath had caught in her throat, her lungs seizing in surprise. How much closer would he come? What was he going to do? J.D.'s lips were incredibly close to her own now, hovering just above them. In a swift moment, however, they breezed past her lips and instead grazed her ear where she heard him breathe, "Lucky for me I wasn't then." J.D. pulled away easily and brushed past her, in the direction of the classroom. For the first time in what felt like an hour, Lila's lungs finally began to function again, releasing the air that had constricted earlier and allowing her to quietly suck in a new breath. Her whole body slackened, and she buried her face in her free hand, masking the smile that threatened to break free without reason. Lips moving in a silent exasperated groan, Lila pressed them firmly together and bit the inside of her cheek. In one brilliant move, he had shut her up and entirely crushed her challenge. Checkmate, J.D. "Let's go," he said continuing towards the door. "I've got one week in detention to look forward to. I can live without another." "Unbelievable," she muttered under her breath, rolling her eyes and slowly trailing behind him. "Dammit J.D.!" she called after him, jogging to catch up to his long strides. Lila's gaze flicked around the hallway, searching for any signs of administration. "And what? You're just going to waltz into class a half hour or so late, with no good excuse, and they won't give you detention?" Lila asked J.D., pausing and crossing her arms. "We need an alibi." |
J.D. & Lila - Hallway
Walking towards the classroom, his back turned to Lila, a satisfied smile emerged on J.D.'s lips. Lila's expression had been priceless, and it had left him undeniably pleased with himself. He got her good with that one.
Not that the thought to actually kiss her hadn't occured to him. It had been his first impulse. But he doubted she would've accepted it. The timing was all wrong. She probably would've ended up slapping him. 'But', J.D. thought and his grin widened, 'It would've been worth it'. "Unbelievable," he heard Lila mutter behind him, before she called out to him: "Dammit J.D.!" Wiping away his self satisfied grin, he turned around and looked at her, an almost angelic expression on his face. "What?" he said innocently as she caught up with him. Though ultimately he failed at hiding his grin. He couldn't keep the corner of his mouth from curling slightly. "And what?" Lila said, looking around, as if searching for something. "You're just going to waltz into class a half hour or so late, with no good excuse, and they won't give you detention?" She crossed her arms, look at him, and added; "We need an alibi". J.D. grinned, and picked up his pace, just to spite her. "Didn't say I couldn't take more time in detention," he said, glancing at her over his shoulder. "Just said I couldn't take another week in detention. I'll get two days, max." He stopped suddenly, and waited for her to catch up with him again. "As for you", he added and looked at her with a shrug. "Just blame me. I stole your cell phone, locked you in the bathroom, gave you wrong directions, whatever. They'll swallow it, hook, line and sinker." It was his fault that she was late, after all, and he didn't want her to get in trouble because of him. And so with that, he was on his way yet again. (((ooc: Psst. Where IS everyone?))) |
((we must be thread killers. >_> Come on everyone! I would RP the teacher to get the classroom stuff going, but I'm not even in there yet. xD Everyone come baaaacckkk!! ))
Lila was caught off guard once again when J.D. pivoted suddenly to face her. "What?" he asked coyly, in reference to her mumble apparently. His expression was innocent as could be, but the corners of his mouth curved ever-so-slightly into a subtle grin that gave him away. If she didn't know him, however, she would have thought at that instant that he had no evil streak in him-- such an innocent face. 'Cheeky little...' she thought silently, leaning back to keep her face distant from his own. "N-nothing." she muttered curtly, somewhat worried that he had heard her. Making a mental note to monitor the level of her voice around him in the future, she groaned rather loudly when he began walking even faster toward the classroom. "Didn't say I couldn't take more time in detention, just said I couldn't take another week in detention. I'll get two days, max." Lila was speed-walking to keep up with him, eyes boring into his back. "Well, aren't you the expert on punishment," she said with a roll of her eyes before continuing. "I had no idea I was becoming close to Al Capone--" her sentence was cut short when she walked face first into J.D.'s back when he had stopped suddenly, stumbling back a step with a yelp of surprise. "As for you, just blame me. I stole your cell phone, locked you in the bathroom, gave you wrong directions, whatever. They'll swallow it, hook, line and sinker." "That hardly seems fair, I mean--" but before Lila could finish, J.D. was off again, walking too fast for Lila to keep up. She threw her hands in the air in exasperation and stormed after him. "Would you make up your mind on a pace here? I'm going to go into cardiac arrest soon," she breathed, arriving next to him by the door. "Look. There has to be a better way so that we both won't get in trouble." With a fierce nod she sighed and ran her fingers through her hair. Suddenly, a look of satistfaction crossed her features and she extended a slender arm to him. "Pinch me." |
