Mootilda, thank you for giving us that part of you that wanted to help, that wanted to make everyone's game more enjoyable. You were truly remarkable in your talent, generous in spirit and wonderfully kind.

Shine on, friend.

I never paid much attention to many things here, but this is the first thing that popped up. I just came on here to post condolences to her friends and family and hope they see this who thread made out to her. Even helping people on game modding, and doing what she loved, seems to have made her a memorable person who seems like she would of been amazing to meet. :,( I hope the family of her and her friends see this thread and know how much people loved her and will miss her. As I've said I never got the chance to meet her, but from here I can see she was great <3 :,( R.i.p Miss Mootilda ♥

Sweetlithium 9th Sep 2014 5:29 AM

oh, well this is a sad turn of events..good bye mootilda.. We all miss you

Charity 9th Sep 2014 5:36 AM

I don't tend to check the front page, so I only just found out about this after noticing a post about it on Back Alley Sims.

This is terrible news! I didn't even know that she was ill. I use a heap of her stuff, especially the Hood Checker and Clean Installer. I remember her helping me to understand the Hood Checker error messages when I was getting a ton of them. I also remember that just about every thread involving problems doing or understanding stuff had a post from her in it trying to help. Now just clicking the thanks button seems insufficient for all the stuff that she gave us. So, thank you Mootilda, for everything that you have done!

I just finished looking around various sim sites that I frequent and it's amazing to see how many have tributes to her and how many people knew her. Back Alley Sims, Simbology, Affinity Sims, Plumbbob Keep, Insimenator, MATY. MTS just won't seem like MTS without her; it's like someone removed part of the site permanently.

My condolences to her family and friends and I hope that wherever she is she can take all her sims with her (with all bugs fixed) and still look down on the crazy stuff we do here from time to time!

SGT.Lightning 9th Sep 2014 6:28 AM

Too soon. Rest in peace, Mootilda!

broke54 9th Sep 2014 7:10 AM

I love her work and will miss her wisdom. May God's blessings be showered upon her family, friends, and all who loved her as they mourn her passing. This is indeed a terrible loss for the Sim's community.

VembaSims 9th Sep 2014 8:31 AM

I didnt know her but this is very sad, rest in peace

McAlli 9th Sep 2014 8:34 AM

I have not logged on for a long time. I decided to log on today because Sims4 is out. I have belonged to Mod the Sims since several months after its inception. Those of us who have been here for a long time are almost like family. Mootilda's passing came as a deep shock to me. She was talented, creativity, funny, and just an all round terrific person. I shall miss her. I regret that I have not signed on for a long time and that I did not get to speak with her for a long time. God bless you Mootilda, May God welcome you into his loving arms.

Another Simmer, who has left the world forever. It is sad. This year, many Simmer are already gone . My sincere condolences to the family and her friends.

bunnyash8900 9th Sep 2014 3:56 PM

How Sad! She's resting in a better place now <:')

GnatGoSplat 9th Sep 2014 4:31 PM

I'm quite shocked and deeply saddened to hear this news. Mootilda's been a fixture here for as long as I've been a member. I didn't know her beyond her screen name, avatar, and forum posts, but we've both participated in several threads in the off-topic area and have directly replied to each other in several of them. I never knew of her health problems, and knowing that now gives me more insight into some of the things she's said. I now think of her words, and am in awe at how brave and strong she was. I'm truly thankful to have had the opportunity to get to know her, if even in the tiniest way, in the OT area of the forum.

My deepest condolences to Quatchi, her family, and friends.

lil bag2 9th Sep 2014 5:39 PM

Although I've downloaded a ton of mods and objects over the years, I am a long time lurker and seldom post, but I will always remember smiling whenever I spotted Mootilda's little cow avatar in a post. My warmest condolences and thoughts for her family and friends.

I have not had the privilege to interact with Mootilda very often during my time here at MTS. However, when I need help or information and lurk through old threads, I can see just how helpful, kind, and knowledgeable Mootilda is. I regret not being able to work with her, and I especially regret missing this news post when it first came out. The Sims' modding community will certainly miss Mootilda for her excellent contributions.

Now who will take over development of the Clean Installer and HoodChecker?

YesPlease 10th Sep 2014 12:12 AM

Oh, how incredibly sad! I never had the pleasure of knowing her personally on the forums, but her insight, knowledge, and contributions will be deeply missed. My heartfelt condolences to her family and friends.

May she rest in peace. She will be missed.

budwinys 10th Sep 2014 1:42 AM

I read this the day it was posted, and I still cannot find the words I would like to say. I use her mods pretty regularly- especially the hood checker, and it'll be strange to think that she's gone. My condolences to her family. We never spoke directly, but her kindness and helpfulness always showed through her posts. We love you, Mootilda.

Agerian 10th Sep 2014 2:13 AM

I've just joined, I'm sorry to hear of this community's loss.

nikel23 10th Sep 2014 4:49 AM

This is so shocking and saddening! I knew Mootilda was very kind and helpful with the community. She and her work will never be forgotten.

MsScribble 10th Sep 2014 8:39 AM

This is horrible, I'm so sad for her.

maxon 10th Sep 2014 1:32 PM

I had no idea she was so ill - well, I guess few of us did. Poor Moo - what a helpful and kind person she was. I will miss seeing her posts though I will go on using her great tools - so useful. She deserves all the sim sites tributes - every one. So nice to see people paying their respects the community over.

I hope, Delphy, you will pass on our respects and love to her family if you get the chance.

Edit: just seen this:

I can't say enough good things about my wife. This outpouring of support from everyone has made me cry. I knew how many people she has touched over the years but to see it like this is overwhelming. I loved her dearly, and like everyone else here I will miss her.

Thank you so much for coming here to post - I'm glad the community has touched you in paying their respects. I wish you the best with whatever the future holds.

How terrible! I haven't been on the board in a while. I hope she is at peace and my symapthies to all. Sad news.

Ceano 11th Sep 2014 8:43 AM

I wish I could give you many more years. I wish I could erase away all of your tears.
I want to take away all of your pain. I want to give you sunshine in the rain.
You did attract like a magnet beautiful things. You did sparkle and shine like a diamond ring.
You did light up a room when you walked in. If someone did feel sad you did make them grin.
You did know right from wrong. You was the melody from a beautiful love song.
You was a breath of fresh air on a hot summer's night. When there was darkness you did turn on the light.
Please know how many lives you have touch. These words are my present. You are loved so much.

I rarely post, but I'm a semi-active reader of the forums here. Mootilda was always one of the most helpful people around, and she seemed really nice. It's such a shame that this happened. My thoughts/prayers go out to her family.

One of my favorite creators here as well.. Sending my thoughts and prayers to her family. Rest in peace, Mootilda.

BTRlover2211 12th Sep 2014 1:19 AM

Oh my god. I never did know her, as I only got sims 3 finally and made an account here since I'd looked up mods for the game a few times before randomly after seeing videos with really cool CC, but she's probably talking to my grandma, my great aunt, and my step-dad right now, who all had cancer as well.

I'm looking in to learning to make CC and mod, and I would have love to learn from her.

GirlaPH 12th Sep 2014 1:21 AM

As a sim player, and a full time lurker of Mod The Sims, may she rest in peace.

Sad news. She was so full of knowledge about programming and I could not play the game without her hoodchecker and lot adjuster.

Prayers and condolences to her family.

Quatchi 12th Sep 2014 8:14 AM

I'd like to thank everyone again for all the kind words, thoughts and prayers. I asked Mootilda's family to read through this wonderful thread. Its very hard to explain to non gamer / non programmers what it is that Mootilda has been doing, and usually we got very confused looks when we tried to explain it to her family. But now I think they understand. What she was doing was helping people and making people happy. Moo's sister had a very similar reaction to me upon reading this, she was overwhelmed by your kindness and by the knowledge of how much she will be missed.

leslieme 12th Sep 2014 9:08 AM

My heartfelt condolences to her family, she will indeed be missed.<3

My utmost condolences to her loved ones.

AliceSacco 12th Sep 2014 8:58 PM

Is a sad new. Her useful creations, like the hood replace, are those that comes to my mind first when I hear that name.

carlfatal 12th Sep 2014 9:10 PM

So sad to hear. I only knew her here as a friendly helpful member and a great programmer too.
Rest in peace, Mootilda!

Mendota 12th Sep 2014 9:19 PM

I am happy that her suffering is at an end. My best wishes for her family, I know what it is like to lose a love one to cancer. Sims 2 is my favorite and she added so much to the experience and was so kind and generous with her time. Rest in peace Mootilda... You will be missed.

mirjampenning 12th Sep 2014 10:14 PM

I didn't know her either. I only saw posts of her sometimes on this site.
Cancer is a terrible decease and nobody should suffer from it, let alone die, but unfortunately that's life.
I feel for her family and wish them all the strength they need.
Rest in peace, Mootilda.

Cap74 12th Sep 2014 11:19 PM

Oh gosh, I've been very busy with 'real life' and haven't had the chance to keep up with the MTS news as I'd like to, so I've only just heard about this. I'm really heartbroken, she was one of my favourite creators and such a nice person. RIP, Mootilda.

Nymphetamine 12th Sep 2014 11:41 PM

That's extremely sad. She was always very helpful, and pointed me in the right direction a few times. Will be terribly missed in the community. Heart felt condolences to family and friends.

Rest in peace

Foxfire Inferno 13th Sep 2014 7:38 PM

Damn. From all the years that I've been around the MTS community, I always remembered Mootilda as being one of the most helpful members our community ever had.
The Sims2Pack Clean Installer still remains as one of the most indispensable tools that ever owner of The Sims 2 MUST have and I still find myself using it when I go back to playing TS2 and installing even more CC and it's because of Mootilda that it carried on as long as it did. She was always friendly and willing to help people figure out any problem that they had with their games or mods.
I can't believe she's gone.

Mootilda, may you finally have the peace that you so rightfully deserve.
You will be missed.

PacMani 13th Sep 2014 7:40 PM

Oh no... why Mootilda? :-(
Because, you know, even though I'm not an active Sims 2 modder or gamer, not even an insider, I got to talk with Mootilda back in 2011 when she greatly and very nicely helped me restoring a disappeared lot I loved much (http://simpeforum.ambertation.de/forum/viewpost/31420). It was amazing how fast she appeared on the SimPE forum to help me there, and she really knuckled down to get my lot back.
She was one-of-a-kind, such a nice person.

I'm really sad now... Dear Mootilda, rest in peace, and thank you one last time for your great help, I will never forget you.

ThatRusher 13th Sep 2014 10:52 PM

Oh my god this is so awful! I loved her mods, they were so great. She was an amazing person too. I hate cancer with a burning passion, it takes away too many great people in this world. Condolences to her friends and family members.

KatKaleen 14th Sep 2014 12:59 AM

I did not know her personally, but I was impressed by her influence and skill in the community. While I am usually a silent creeper, this is the time where I must say: May angels carry you on a stream of flower petals straight to heaven.
The source code for most of my programs is available in the download thread. If I am inactive on ModTheSims for a year, or if I die, you may take over development and support of any of my programs without my permission, but the program must remain free of cost and you must keep the source code in the public domain.
She knew it. At least she expected it.
Oh boy, I'm crying. My best wishes to her friends and family.

nicefunfungirl 14th Sep 2014 1:37 PM

Oh no......I'm new here,Well not technically i just haven't posted. But she seems as though she was an outstanding long-term member. (e,r,1,2,and 3 don't work,I used the On-Screen Keyboard. I can't post anymore,It takes alot..

I wanted to suggest something similar. Some sort of honor spot/virtual statue somewhere on this site? She has done a lot for the Sims 2 community in various ways which benefitted a lot of Sims 2 'lovers'. It seems appropriate to me.

Prince Avalanche 16th Sep 2014 12:37 AM

You will be miss very dearly and my condolences to her family.

zoozeegirl 17th Sep 2014 12:36 PM

Mootilda - so sad to see you go - you gave so much to all that needed help - big or small.

You gave us the hoodchecker - I use it every day. You have helped me when I was lost
in a problem with my sims. You were there always for everyone.
I am though happy that your hurt is gone and I am sure you are in a good place now with
no hurt only goodness which you of all people deserve.

Rest in Peace my dear friend.
