41. Stefan Salvatore CAS sim from the Salvatore founding family, started as a teen Second son of Giovanni and Carmela Salvatore, brother to Damian (No, they're not vampires, I was just trying to come up with names :D) The Salvatores opened Sal's South Street, the first of chain of Sal's family restaurants, but Stefan was a knowledge sim and had no interest in running a restaurant. His family had no money for university, so at adulthood he joined the military, and after his initial tour of duty, he decided to use the skills he learned in the military to join the medicine career. He moved to an apartment downtown, married this downtownie named Audrey in my game. They moved to another bigger apartment (a 3-story brownstone on Vandersaux Boulevard) and had 2 children- Vera and David. The kids got into private school and both later attended university. It's been awhile and he's dead now so I can't check easily, but I think he maxed out at Medical Researcher before retirement. He and Audrey eventually moved to Bluewater Senior Living. Vera became an architect and has 2 daughters, David is a dancer, has 6 kids and runs a ballet school. Audrey outlived him by about 10 days unfortunately, but he died peacefully of old age and his grave is located at the Fort Bluewater War Memorial, where all former military career sims have the option to be buried. |

Hayes Montgomery. Daughter of Wyatt and Briella Montgomery. Older brother Bridger, younger sister Brooks. Currently a child. I picked out the name when I was hoping she'd be a boy, then realized I was committed to the name even though she was born a girl, and kept it. She's a 4th Generation Montgomery and a 6th generation Salvatore (her great-grandfather was Damian Salvatore, Stefan's brother). They live on Valley Road in Lakeview Hills, in the same house her father grew up in. Her father was a legacy at private school, so she and Bridger attend. She is in David Salvatore's Monday ballet class and her closest friend is cousin Michael Montgomery (#667). So far, nothing to indicate she's evil. |
Is your numbering sequence from SimPE or your own design?

123. Jovan Watson. Son of Alvin Curtin (this downtownie) and Nevaeh Watson. He has a twin sister named Jahzara and his older siblings are also twins- Lavina and Alvin. He's currently an elder and he's a 3rd generation Watson. Nevaeh was a romance sim who had 2 sets of twins with Alvin as a teen mom. Alvin joined the military to send child support to the kids, but they neither of them had any interest in continuing their romantic relationship. Nevaeh had 1 more son, Antoine, but never married. After Alvin left the military, he married fellow soldier Brittany and had 4 more children, so Jovan has a total of 8 siblings. Jovan grew up in an apartment with his grandmother, mother, and siblings. He moved out right at adulthood after Jahzara had twins, moved downtown to a tiny apartment and started in the criminal career. He got fired on an unlucky chance card and decided to reassess his life. I noticed he had a high interest in animals, so he joined the Animal Control NPC career. He then met single mom Valeria Martinez and moved in with her and her son Jackson (fathered, then abandoned by his brother Alvin Watson). They ended up moving back to Lakeview Hills to have a quieter lifestyle and after Jackson moved out, they had 2 children of their own- Brantley and Taisia. Valeria got that "Not get married before becoming an elder" fear so they decided to have a quick wedding in the park next to town hall with their children in attendance before she aged up. Fun Fact: Jovan's older brother Alvin founded a cult and has 13 children with 6 different women |

Own design, from my spreadsheet. After the CAS families, it's just birth order. |
Does anyone ever think about how the "RnB" station was the only station from the base game that never got additional songs throughout the EPs?
|
Nope, because I immediately started adding R&B from my own music library. I have no idea whatever which stations were expanded later, or that any ever were.

I love R&B, if you have some recommendations that have ambient vibes and a romantic touch, that would be great. ![]() |
I'm afraid I'm not that sophisticated musically; it's just a bunch of the usual and some soul mixed in because Aretha didn't seem to fit the other stations.

I'm not very sophisticated with musical genres either, it's often difficult for me to differentiate genres, but I'm quite guided by the vibes. |

This is my goal as well for my own hood, though I am in generation 5 and I can feel my game start to struggle ![]() |
The urge to play TS2 is strong but I don't want to fix the files cos its far too much work for 1 evening of simming
![]() Also you know how sims sometimes are like "what's this?" when you buy something new? I think that's a real people thing, cos sometimes I spot something random and reall am like huh, what's this? ![]() |

PLAYABLES IN VERONAVILLE Elder 7 Adult 85 Teen 71 Child 28 Toddler 2 Baby 2 TOTAL 195 The differences to Inspiredzone's neighbourhood are all too obvious. There are few Elders because I've never yet let an adult age up to an Elder -- I don't want to be reminded of Time's wingèd chariot hurrying near. (I'm an Elder myself.) Four of the seven Elders are Maxis Sims, one is d_dgjdhh's Milburn Pennybags from Monopoly Game Town, and two are CAS Sims. Procreation plays only a very small part in my game, hence the paucity of babies and toddlers. The two toddlers are Garrett and Gabriella Newson, whom I.ve been playing (as toddlers) since November 2014. The two babies are actually quite recent born-in-game Sims! There are no YAs because there is - (as yet) no university attached to Veronaville. But there are a lot of teens, simply because I enjoy playing teens. Quite a few of them live independently. One reason why I can play with so few Sims (compared to Inspiredzone) is that I make very little distinction between playables and townies. All my townies are full citizens with the same constitutional rights as playables. I think the main differences between playables and townies are (1) townies don't age, and (2) townies can't become pregnant. Well in my game (1) doesn't matter because I usually play with Aging off, and, since, as you can see, pregnancies are rare in my game, (2) isn't really an issue either. If there is a strong story reason for a townie to become pregnant, I'll simply make her playable (it will be a "her" -- I don't do male pregnancy), like I did with Avril Hutchins, who has now married Consort Capp, and had his baby. (Such is the pace of my game that it Avril was a playable for some ten real years before she had Consort's baby -- by which time she had nearly forgotten why she wanted to have his child!) Anyway, since townies are so important in my game, I thought I'd do a similar census for them: TOWNIES IN VERONAVILLE Elder 10 Adult 101 Teen 49 Child 33 TOTAL 193 So, between playables and townies, I have nearly 400 Sims taking part in the life of Veronaville, with lots of friendships between playables and townies. And, with a lot of Romance Sims amongst them, friendships sometimes go further! ![]() When doing these surveys I noticed that there were 5 playable Sims in the Family Bin. Two of these are Tybalt and his young wife Lexie, who are there while I get Number 7 Chorus Court (next door to Andrew and his family) ready for them. But the other three were Sims straight out of CAS. Two of them are a small family comprising a Romance father and his teenage daughter (Popularity). After playing them briefly, I have decided to keep them playable. The fifth Bin Sim is a single adult female (also Popularity) I've decided to make her a townie. That will make 194 playables and 194 townies! Well, I do like to play roughly equal numbers of playables and townies! |
Custom food is the worst regarding OBJD limit, but I want my sims tasting various food, not just same old thing forever.

Wow, you have a lot of townies. But then I have the no townie spawning hacks, so I have no idea how many naturally spawn. I'm also surprised that you have so many adults. From your stories I'd have imagined Veronaville as 75% teens lol.

What makes custom food so bad? |

Simple. I've downloaded and installed so many custom food and I try not to install more of them. |

I meant how does it affect the OBJD limit? |
Quote: Originally posted by Charity
No need to overthink. Maybe I'm misremembering about OBJD, but when you have to(sic) many CCs, the game starts to crash if you pick any object. For me, since I have installed so many food items, I had to uninstall some of them to make it stop. |

I thought that you were saying that food was specifically bad (I may also have a lot of food CC). Fortunately my comp seems to be able to handle it so far. |
I thought the issue with CC food is that it's hard to remove from game because your sims can pick it as their favorite food and you'd have to edit all those sims to remove that. I've never bothered with CC food because I didn't want to give Future Me a project.

Usually I'm so focused on achieving some goal that I play on speed 2, and I forget how relaxing it can be just to play on speed 1, go through an ordinary day just watching and not trying to accomplish anything in particular. Self-care.

Yeah. That's why all mine goes through my testing neighbourhood and I make sure that I really want it/it has no bugs first. Really, my testing neighbourhood should have exploded in a BFBVFS by now, as I don't bother doing anything to preserve it. XD |
There's also some memories associated with food, such as 'learned to make $subject'. Memory Commander has an option to mass-delete invalid references to deleted foods (though I don't think it removes it from the SWAF history).
