Heh, I'm actually in the process of using the Sims 3 music tracks to create 2 music careers. I don't think a Concert Pianist or Symphony Conductor need to work as a roadie. In fact, it's probably not good for a concert pianist to be doing a job that involves carrying lots of heavy objects. |

@lientebollemeis already ported a lot of the TS3 careers : https://simfileshare.net/folder/101340/ |

That's cool, but I'm creating 10 different levels for each instead of sharing the first few, plus including the career outfit fixes I've already done in my game |
While having some fun in a Discord server by telling stories while replacing 'my pet' with 'my roommate,' I realized that telling stories while replacing 'my Sim' with 'my roommate' would also be great.
"My roommate got out of bed to scream about being tired then passed out on the floor." |

"My roommate looked to the sky and waved their arms complaining about needing to go to the toilet, but instead of going to the toilet they just complained and eventually pee'd themselves." Like this? |
"Two copies of my roommate came home from the store. One of them kissed her husband, and the other got pissed at him for cheating. Then they got into a fight in the living room."
|
"My roommate put some toaster pastries in the oven, then went to work, and the whole kitchen burned down."
This actually happened to a FOAF (friend of a friend), but it was pizza, not toaster pastries. And it happened yesterday in my game as well. |

I'm building a business lot on a corner lot and I'm lazy so I only want to use LotAdjustor once to shrink it. I kept getting confused about the sidewalk width with the road, so I made a fake road and sidewalk for reference.
Also: Just because I can doesn't mean I should : |
In real life, one of my hobbies is exercise and I am currently logging about 40 miles a week running and walking. It's good, but sometimes it's a grind. Par for the course. But this week I had a small epiphany, and imagined I had a progress bar. It really helps!

There're so many custom neighborhoods out there that I'd love to try. Not sure if I'd rather play a twisted version of a default hood or maybe get a completely original one or try a sort of uberhood... And I always end up playoing in my beloved Pleasantview lol

I have never tried to make a sim based on a real person, but, boy, am I tempted today to try!
A man who was not even supposed to walk after an knee injury and it looked as if his knee would have to be amputated. But a donated hamstring tendon (his father's) implant changed everything. In 2021, he was the World Rugby Player of the Year. This year, he did it again. And I think he will make a very cute sim |

For me it's the other way around, since I tried the custom neighborhoods, I'm unable to play the maxis, I played them so much during my adolescence that they already bore me. Customs give me the surprise factor and different ways to explore the game. The bad thing is that I am so focused on finishing the update of what I have published once and for all, that I have not been able to seriously test anything that has been released lately. -.- And incredible things have come out in recent years. |

Male gardeners are blind apparently?

They look like custom plants. Are you sure that they need trimming?

Random thought and slight ramble. Don't mind me! you don't need to read. Writing it out so I can re-look at it later.
Sometimes issues with the game can really throw your head out. So, I know a particular problem is mod related, but I don't know why it is doing it. The propose > move in interaction is completely borked, in a really strange way. The actual code between the modded code for 0x7F859641, 0x0000101F is basically identical to that in the fun with pets objects package, I even tried another mod that alters this specific resource to try to 'override it', the mod functioned, did it's thing, but the same issue occurred. (Move-in Assets Fixed and Improved) The actual issue? Every single time generic sims call (add to family) is called by that social interaction it appears the family id is set incorrectly somehow, and the sim is both partly added to family (becomes controllable) but also given their own unique family id (according to SimPE). I've tried altering it to specify the id by my family, and by literal zero and verified it is used correctly. In any case the social interaction will always do this, make them selectable but then put them in a new unique family id as if -1 had been set. (So, when you save and come back to the lot, they are 'lost to the void'). Here's the fun part though! The regular debug interaction "add neighbour to family" works perfectly, no issues. Despite the fact the actual family adding part. It will only do this when adopting strays or proposing to move in. In any other sitch it works just fine. So for now, I've just set propose > move in to call the debug function instead until I figure it out. What the fudgecake man? I will investigate more later, and go over these notes. |
I've realised that today is Thanksgiving in the U.S.A. so my Sims and I would like to wish all American Simmers and Sims a very Happy Thanksgiving Holiday!
In Veronaville we'll be celebrating Thanksgiving on Saturday as it will be the twelfth anniversary of Andrew and his mum Gloria arriving here and buying the little house at the end of Chorus Court. That will be twelve whole years without a single death in the neighbourhood (or indeed in any of my other neighbourhoods). That's considerably better than the poor Pilgrim Fathers managed. Everyone who's been with us on the journey is still with us. I think that's something really worth celebrating and giving thanks for! |

Lime Seared Prawns, Anyone?
How do you fancy cooking for yourself a dish that your Sims can eat, when dining out at their best restaurants? I've found on YouTube a recipe for cooking lime seared prawns. The recipe suggests adding broccoli to the prawns, which is probably a good idea as there's a lot of empty space on the plate when our Sims eat it -- they only get a tiny bit of salad (possibly rocket?) with their prawns!
I'm afraid I won't be trying out the recipe myself. I've been vegetarian for forty years now. And, even before I became vegetarian, I've always hated the smell and taste of all seafood! |
