Well, a silo is a grain storage building, not a residence, so - clearly, the Monty side of the river has had its population devastated recently (hence all those big empty houses) and no longer has enough farms to support a silo. So whoever moves in is repurposing it, possibly squatting because they know they can get away with it there where they couldn't in any of the big empty ones.

How do you define anime style hair? I have heaps of long hair for males that I wouldn't consider anime. |

I'd say something like this, where it really doesn't fit a casual sims 2 aesthetic (for me at least). Although I wish more anime men wore hair like this because in the animations themselves they're way too rare. Anything else goes! ![]() |
I loved those meshes, they could look good in maxis match game with deedee colors

I'm personally quite picky on custom hairs I use. They have to pass a certain criteria. Because of my general nit-picking, I often have very little custom hairs.
1) They must be animated. 2) They must have MM, or similar textures. 3) They must not have major clipping issues, nor seams. 4) They look acceptable in all gameplay, not just for screen archery. 4t2 hairs do not meet any of the criteria. 3t2 hairs do not typically meet 1st and 3rd criteria. And these conversions are mostly what people create nowadays. I'd love to see people make MM hairs from scratch with proper animations. |

The outfit I was wanting converted for Elders is this skittlessimsās 4t2 SP10 Shorts Low Ripped with sneakers for females (adult and teen) here and for males (adult and teen) here. I know they're not exactly elegant, but when everybody else (teens and up) can wear them, I fear my Elders are going to feel left out! Andrew has already bought one, and is wearing it, paired with a Maxis casual jacket top, as his new everyday outfit. I'll post pictures soon. I'm wondering if, instead of making it for me, you might help me to make it myself. I feel that, after 12 years Simming, I really ought to be able to do this sort of age conversion myself. I have dome age conversions, but so far I've only done ones that don't involve any meshing. The only ones I've shared are the teen to adult loincloths I shared on Plumbbob Keep, but I don't think there'd be much interest in the other ones I've done (mostly barely-there shorts and briefs using a nude mesh). If I could do proper age conversions (including meshing) I might be a more useful member of this community. |

I also like it better with animation, but unfortunately it seems that they are a minority. So that's one thing I overlooked. The emo meshes like the one Misaki put on are a classic, even though they don't have animation, they were really cool. I still remember a hairstyle with short bangs that I loved, it had a long and short version, and I used to imagine that my sim wore extensions. xD |

Elders and adults are the same height, so the only thing you need to do for separates conversions is to match the waist with an elder top. Do you have Milkshape or Blender? |
That's so beautiful Charity, I'm genuinely touched by the scale of this!!! I hope that in my lifetime I will also one day contribute a lot of work or passion into something I love, to leave it for others to enjoy forever.
Also I see a hairstyle that finally allows me to make long awaited Gust from My Time At Portia that I wanted to carry over into my game, I'm really happi |

I suggest starting on small projects then working your way toward more complex mods and content. I like to place streetlights at regular intervals and sometimes trees along side the road to make the lots seem more integrated. Sometimes I put a narrow lot that is unusable for this purpose. I delete the mailbox, payphone and trashcan from it. There isn't a hood object for other type of streetlights than the basic one. I'm not sure what lot zone is the best to make that lot visible on the map but not selectable.
https://i.imgur.com/WpNbpPv.png Most outdoor lights work poorly though except the tri-branch green park light for the rich people. It looks like 3x metal halide 150 watts. Windows from a house make more magic light. |
I wish there was a way to have a never-occupied lot still render deep snow in build/buy mode... several of my projects are places that for one reason or another should always be covered in snow, and it's so much harder to predict whether it's gonna look right or not when I'm stuck building it all with green grass or gray stone on the ground!

No idea if season changes is possible in buy mode, but if you're stuck with other options, maybe this one could help a bit? (I know it's not the same, but at least it's a rouch idea of where the snow goes) https://modthesims.info/d/313164/pl...-mud-slime.html I've been using variants of "cheaty snow" a lot recently. Much quicker than waiting for it to actually snow ingame (or possible pink-flashing related to snow), and I can arrange it the way I want. Plus, there's no annoying snow dust on everything ![]() Not optimal (no snow playing/snow interaction), but it can also be quite useful. |

These violent delights have violent ends I've never been one for Veronaville, but I do find it interesting how much of a rip-off of Romeo & Juliet it is. ![]() ...And that's probably why I always liked Pleasantview and Strangetown more. They have more creative liberties than Veronaville does. Though the neighborhood of Pleasantview does take a bit of inspiration from The Fair Penitent and Greek mythology, but just it seems more 'free flowing' in its form than Veronaville. I'm not sure of what inspiration(s) Strangetown takes other than that the town is inspired by Roswell, New Mexico and the infamous alien story of the 1940s. |
(Stares at Pleasantview till my eyes water.) I don't see a single trace of Quixote or Greek myth in Pleasantview. It's a 20th century American soap opera, full stop. My mom used to watch antics exactly like this on her "stories" while she was ironing. If your Pleasantview has Quixote and the gods in it, you brought it there, as you are fully entitled to do.
Strangetown is Cold War era science fiction and 90s conspiracy culture with a dozen layers of irony on top. |

Not really. I didn't bring Greek mythology there. Maxis did. The love story between Don Lothario and Cassandra Goth can be understood as a reinterpretation of a Greek mythological tale. It's easier to me if I just refer to an old post on MTS I made about it.

Not really. I live in rural Nevada. While Strangetown may take some inspiration in its story from area 51, its primary inspiration is Roswell New Mexico and it is evident by the red desert terrain textures it uses in the vanilla game. Geographically speaking, Nevada doesn't have red sand, that's found more southern in the deserts of New Mexico and Arizona. The upcoming BETA 3 of my neighborhood 'Plot of Land' is more akin to what you find in rural Nevada, as it is heavily inspired by my IRL town as well as some elements from other rural Nevada towns I've been to. |
I do feel Spanish and Italian references in Pleasantview, especially with the Calientes, although it is clearly more focused on the United States, but I don't know, for me in the sims all continents are connected. And I see a little bit of that attempt to connect both cultures since they really have a connection. Plus, the most over-the-top soap operas come from South America, and Don and the Calientes really have that hot, tanned look all their own. XD I find what you say about Don Quijote very interesting, where have you noticed it? Brandy's stereotype is very American but also very identifiable to other cultures. xDD

Cassandra's good ending is usually ditching Don and there's nothing anywhere about prophecies. We all bring out own readings to these games. Strangetown has exactly as much Greek myth (Circe) in it as Pleasantview does, married to Norse myth (with Loki), but there's not an atom of Greek or Norse in the storyline.
As a creator, I promise you: a creator doesn't have to put something in, in order for the audience to find it. |
