I just use the rabbit hole rugs and build a shell I like. I furnish it if I feel like it. But not everyone likes building so I hope you find a way to make that work, I am pretty sure it was in Nrass debug mod like Simsample mentioned that let's you fix the names on the rabbitholes.

I love to build! But I also like some of the rabbithole shells, so I like to approach everything on a case by case basis.

Another question for the knowledgeable- do the Showtime Live Venue shell objects (Los Sueños, Brotherhood of Fine Fellows Hall) have any sort of scripting/opportunities attached to them? Same with the Hoi Polloi Event Center.
I want to remove some to make way for other lots, but I want to make sure my sims can reach the top of the Showtime careers without them and aren't missing out on any sort of specific opportunities. |

Well, when it comes to the Brotherhood of Fine Fellows Shell, I haven't ever got any opportunities from it. I've also used its shell for my own clubs just fine. Same goes for the Los Sueños shell. Not sure about Hoi Polloi, though. |
Question for builders. I have been trying for a while now to get a short wall for the roof of the gym I'm working on working. The kind you have on a flat roof and need CFE to make.
I've got the making them part down. But the problem comes when I try to connect them to anything else. When I try to connect them to the rest of the building, the ends always distort even with CFE off. I can't get them to stay at their respective heights, the short wall always goes up about halfway to "connect" with the higher wall. If I don't have to connect it to anything, like the very top of a building, it works fine. It's only when I have to connect it to something else that's higher. I hope it's just something obvious that I'm missing. I've seen it work with the University gym, so I know it can be done. |

Hope that makes sense |

In this case, the big question is whether or not there are specific opportunities/gigs attached to the Hoi Polloi shell, or if I can just replicate its functions using just the Binder Clips Center + a more space-saving theater rabbithole. |

If there are any opportunities etc. attached to that shell, would those show up in the shell specific game files? With S3PE perhaps? Just a thought. |
Do I need an expensive gaming PC to run The Sims 3 smoothly? I'm planning on getting a desktop soon, and I'm really not sure what kind of budget I should be setting for myself.

If you only care about playing TS3 to its fullest potential without the computer being an issue, then I would suggest searching for older hardware released in 2012. However, that's not something you may find pre-built unless someone reputable was selling their old gaming computer if you are not into building your own. My first gaming desktop I built played TS3 well. Unfortunately, the motherboard died after about 6 years and because it's old I would have to go online to find a possible new replacement or an used one. Anyway, the computer specifications are: Win 7 64-Bit (You may want to go with 64-Bit just in case later down the line TS3 for PC does get a 64-Bit version.) 8 GB RAM (For now, TS3 doesn't need any more than this and has room for some multi-tasking, however, the developers say for the best performance you should close any other programs before running TS3. Depending on the computer, it may vary whether there will be any issues or not. If a 64-Bit version ever does come out then you can always upgrade later as long as the motherboard supports larger RAM capacity. I think some support up to 32 GB or more of RAM.) Intel Core i7 3770K @ 3.5 GHz (The minimal requirements state at least 2.4 GHz but if you want faster processing, routing, liveliness of simulation then the higher the GHz, the better. Or so that has been my experience coming from different computers and each one better than the last. If I had to guess recommended requirements then it would be 3.2 GHz or higher. Getting a CPU that's already overclocked may be a better option.) Geforce GTX 660 2 GB VRAM (This seemed more than efficient and I was quite happy with my build. Though because it's old ShadowPlay, a free recorder which comes with an updated driver, doesn't perform so well with TS3 and stutters and lags a bit. The more VRAM, the better to help with graphic intensive games. Now TS3 is not GPU intensive but mostly CPU intensive, however, some custom content just goes overboard with 4K, high poly counts, etc so be careful with that. While the GPU might handle it, TS3 game engine has a limit to what it can handle. Be responsible about what you put in your game if you choose to use mods/cc.) Edit: 1 TB HDD (The size of the HDD and/or SSD will depend on your storage needs. Before this system I came from 500 GB HDD gaming laptop and was near its limit with space to spare for other computer operations. So I decided to double that to have more storage because I store a lot of TS3 and it takes up a lot of space like screenshots, videos before I move it to the external HDD plus multiple TS3 game folders since I like to switch.) Edit: Full HD 1920 x 1080 @ 60 FPS monitor (Higher resolutions than this will make the U.I. smaller but the image clearer. If you get a monitor or already have one with higher resolutions then you can always try it out in TS3 options menu to see if you can accept that. Or change it back to whatever you are comfortable with. Also note: Higher resolutions may cause poor game performance depending on the computer configuration. So you may want to test it out to find the right settings for you. Currently, on the computer below the resolution I'm playing at is 2560 x 1440 @ 144 FPS. The higher the frames per second on a monitor, the more smoother a game's movement will look. 60 FPS is really good though and in case you may want to get or already have a monitor with a higher FPS, TS3 seems to pick up on that when you want to change it in the options menu. It will be greyed out in windowed mode though and the fps cannot be set unless through external programs.) Edit: Personally, I always find it extremely easy to test out a new computer with TS3 as is. No game altering mods at all is ideal because you can purely test your computer's capability with TS3 so you know the as is performance compared to when you start adding mods/cc. Then you can always better manage your game performance because you know how it's supposed to play and means some mods/cc is dragging your performance down. Of course, it is up to you whether you value quality performance vs poor performance. Edit: There are also YouTube videos/knowledgeable persons that are helpful when it comes to finding the right balance in performance. (Ambient Occlusion is not supported in TS3 and I would not recommend trying to force something a game does not support through external programs.) Tested: Graphics settings and how they affect performance https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DW2m14vzFM8 Here are a couple of websites I found useful when building my first desktop. Even if you are not building, this information is still useful to know once you get all the information about what's inside a pre-built computer. https://modthesims.info/wiki.php?ti...em_Requirements This is great for comparing CPU's, GPU's, etc to find out which is better in performance. Also, great for other kinds of information specific to what you may want to know. https://www.passmark.com/ For example: Comparing two CPU's or two GPU's to find out which is better suited to what you want your gameplay experience to be but also according to your budget. But again, TS3 is a game released in 2009 and continued through 2013. I suggested hardware from 2012 because The Sims Studio seems to have updated the new GPU's to the list for the game to recognize but not for 2013 and onwards, naturally. Though personally, I highly doubt the game recognizing your GPU matters in that sense and seems to be just there to have preset in-game options already set for you, but what does matter is the game is using the GPU by default and not an onboard integrated card from the CPU. As long as the connection, VGA or DVI or HDMI cable is in the right place concerning a desktop, the GPU should automatically become the default graphics device when plugged into where it is supposed to be...in the back of the video card, not the motherboard. Of course, it says this on the instructions of how to set up your new gaming desktop or so it does when I got my pre-built gaming desktop. The one I built I didn't know that, lol, but a quick search on the internet easily rectified my error. Now I know. Also, TS3 still does not recognize the RTX 2070 and I have zero issues and I don't ever plan to force it to recognize it either as I personally find it pointless as I can play just fine like I did on the other older systems that did recognize the GPU. So yeah, that's my experience and conclusion to that. https://www.cpubenchmark.net/compar...7-9700K/2vs3335 https://www.videocardbenchmark.net/...2070/2152vs4001 Here in this topic I link below you will see screenshots and videos from this specific computer mentioned above. This is for you to get an idea as a starting point. Anything better than this, should play TS3 just fine with all EP's/SP's/Store Content/Some mods...be careful of mods because a lot of it, just puts too much on the game engine. And the game engine is only a 32-Bit program already running mostly CPU intensive simulation. Plus, there's also a reason why high poly counts just ruin the games performance when it's just overkill. Some screenshots were from an older computer and because the resolution is less, you should be able to tell. Plus it took me how many years to finally use the better resolution options, lol. https://forums.thesims.com/en_us/di...0/my-s3-game/p3 Edit: There's also these videos which better represents how TS3 plays as is on the computer specs above. https://youtu.be/RecjZIs6N-E https://youtu.be/eGZxSsm5sUc ======== Here's the computer specifications that I play now and it's performance. Though Isla Paradiso is known to have issues so that's why there's freezing which I do fix in-game based on a Simmer's, BlueSpaarkle's guide, how to fix IP lag. Win 10 64-Bit 16 GB RAM Intel Core i7-9700K @ 3.6 GHz NVidia Geforce RTX 2070 8GB VRAM 1 TB NVMe SSD 1 TB HDD This build is overkill for TS3 and so I did not get it specifically for that game. It's for Cyberpunk 2077, Control and other real-time ray tracing games, etc. But I can confirm in my experience that TS3 plays just fine with this newer hardware thankfully. Not sure what's the big deal with some saying TS3 runs horrible on newer hardware...my guess its incompatible computer configurations. https://youtu.be/HUKUSsNOQ3c Edit: Here's another video, better recorded and in a different neighborhood. https://youtu.be/BtfrhN8rGpA One more thing. If you go for a pre-built gaming computer beware that not all of them are the same, as in, performance. It's always best to do a lot of research before purchasing. Look at a lot of reviews, know everything that is inside the computer and whether it's good for what you want or not. You cannot always trust the salesperson to tell you the truth so I suggest to do your homework. Okay actually one more thing, everything in the computer matters, not just the GPU and CPU if you really want the best performance out of a gaming computer. The motherboard matters, the RAM and speed matters, the fans/cooling/airflow system matters, the SSD/HDD and speed matters, etc. Sometimes I wonder about those who claim to have gaming computers but says TS3 runs poorly. Possibly could be bottlenecking. There are non gaming computers that run TS3 just fine, provided it has its limits, of course. So yes, I have come to the conclusion that TS3 is not the problem and runs extremely well with no mods for a mostly CPU intensive 32-bit program. By the way, the Isla Paradiso video has no mods except NRass NoCD. Just pure official TS3. Now that is how you know you got a good purchase. TS3 does not need mods to run and if it does...I wonder about that too. |
Suddenly there is a red glowing sparkle bit on various items in my sim's house. It was on a computer for a couple sim days and then on a living room chair (or maybe on the floor under it). I don't recall this ever happening before. The sparkle goes away eventually. Anybody know what it is?
|
@lucy: Pretty sure those are booby traps from Generations and/or Supernatural, set by children/teens/fairies. Pranks can be set up for sims in general or specific sims, and will not set off for the prankster.
Question: Has anyone thrown a gift-giving party on a community lot? My host family won't interact with the gift rug, other than to call guests to open presents. Surely that's not working as intended? |
@zoe22 Just chiming back in to say that that suggestion for my question about short walls worked great! Thanks so much for that. I thought I was about to lose my sanity trying to figure that one out lol.
|
Is there a way to make movement on various lots, such as houses, easier or less time consuming? It shouldn't take my sim an hour to come down for breakfast starting from when he gets out of bed.

I always make the stairways doublewidth, or if I'm using spiral staircases I prefer to have 2 of them in opposite corners of the house. Hallways are usually 3 spaces wide and also short! Bedrooms do not have to be bigger than 4X5 spaces unless they have other uses. EA likes to make houses with a lot of diagonal walls and weird crannies- if I use one of their houses I usually redo the interior walls to make straightforward spaces. I'm pretty sure that diagonal walls subtract navigable space on both sides. There's a lot of furniture placement combinations that are technically "legal," like the coffee table right in front of the couch, and they don't exactly necessarily cause route fail, but they might cause a sim to go out of their way to get places. So I like to leave open walking room on the way to everything a sim has to go to repeatedly. Also I usually do the public parts of a house-kitchen, living room, eating area- as a great room, open-plan sort of thing, though I tend to place the stairs and half-bath in a way to break up the floor and guide traffic. Keeping the furnishings rather simple might help, so you don't have a kitchen the size of a hotel's with twenty countertops all bedecked with small appliances between the stove and the refrigerator. I have also come to the conclusion that dishwashers are worse than sinks for routing and getting the work done. |
NRaas Relativity can also be used to make time (the sim clock) go a bit slower, so sims won't take as long to get places

Is there is a way/mods to micromanage autonomy of Zombies?
I wanted to make some playable zombies but do not like that they autonomously turn other sims into zombies. I disabled the lunar cycle because of this. I play the world similar TS2, going through every household time to time with NRAAS master controller instead of playing a single family, which I prefer more control over what happens in the town. Not sure if this can happen with Nraas SP, so I didn't make this a WCIF question. |

They are easier to place than stairs, take up less space, and are certainly a quicker way of getting from one floor to another. One of my castles has four storeys above ground and four dungeon levels below. Three of the towers have ladders going from the topmost level right down to the lowest. I click where I want my sim to go, he heads for the nearest ladder and... zip, he's down in an instant. |
Is there any way to age up Sims with aging off without having to remember to enable testing cheats all the time?
I keep aging off on a per town basis with NRaas. I just like playing a family as long as I want without having to worry about an actual age counter. However, I can't seem to be able to age them up with the birthday cake when I'm ready to. It always says "No one on your lot is able to age up" or something similar. Is it blocked from functioning if aging is turned off? |
I’d bet NRAAS master controller can do that somehow. But worst case scenario could take the sim into CAS with it and change their age?
|
(Debug mode) Testingcheatsenabled true - (click on sim) age up
along instant Nraas master controller -> Sim -> Immediate > age up I don't use aging off as I prefer shorter lifespans but I use these two when aging up sims, but I don't know if they work with aging off. Perhaps it's my specs, but testingcheats one tends to crash when aging up several sims at the same time. |

The store child care items (baby plat mat, baby swing, playpen, walkers, etc.) have high advertising. If you scatter them around lots, it seems NPC sims will use them fairly regularly. If you don't want to spend money in the item mall, Around the Sims has some really cute versions (like turning the playpen into a little ball pit). |
Not a stupid Sim thing per say but a stupid launcher thing... first it says "it's recommended to play with just a few packs at a time". So I make an adjustment. But then it says "save files may not work correctly if you don't use the right packs." Like... it just told me to remove packs? Apparently it wants me to play with JUST two or fewer packs... what's the deal here EA? You made all these packs... but then you say "oh actually, only play base game please. Because the other packs we had you shelve out money for is too intensive. So don't." I dunno... it just bugs me that it's "recommended" to just play with a few packs at a time.
Also... for some reason Bridgeport... that came with Late Night if I'm not mistaken, is disabled even if you have Late Night activated. You need additional packs for it to show up. For some reason... Apparently you need High Loft stuff for it to show up. Odd. Oh and can I say how annoying it's to have to download additional store neighborhoods via that old Sims 3 site? |

The best advice is to ignore it and check the box that says "stop telling me this nonsense" (or whatever it actually says). It's fine to run all packs if your system can handle it. And no, in most cases you cannot load a saved game that has already "seen" one of the Expansions without it present. The Stuff packs shouldn't matter and add no real overhead anyway, but substitutions for items used will be made if they do not load.

I have been away from Sims 3 for several months, so I don't remember how to fix stuff like this. One sim in my active couple is a virtuoso and spent most of the evening practicing guitar for his job. When he went to bed, his husband kept getting the "React to Noisy Sim" action in his queue and could not sleep in the same room. When I turned my sound up, I could still hear the guitar from when he was playing earlier. The radio was not on, and the sound seemed to be only around him.
How do I fix this so he doesn't keep waking up his husband? its a couple I made in CAS and put into Hidden Springs. |

The other way: Retreat to Edit Town, evict everyone in the household to the side of the map, copy the lot down to the bin, bulldoze the uninhabited one, replace it with a copy, and move everyone back in without having left the screen. Either way should fix the current problem. What's causing it, if it keeps recurring, may be more of a mystery. |

But when I try to only load Late Night on a fresh install/no CC, Bridgeport doesn't show up... I have to add HLS. But maybe that's because my base game is the Starter pack which contains base game, Late Night and High-Loft stuff pack? |

The game doesn't formally recognize any graphics cards on its own that were released to market after late 2013 as it went out of development just around then, in Jan 2014 (except for the new 64-bit Mac version which does recognize newer cards on Macs, but that one is a very different story). Not formally recognized doesn't mean the card isn't being used, it means it gets a usually inferior set of default settings in Game Options. Formal recognition can be obtained with some some relatively simple sgr file edits, but in most cases it doesn't really accomplish a lot. Much more important than this is getting the frame rate capped since TS3 has no functional built-in fps limiter and a GTX 1060 will run wild on frame rates if not tended to. |
Has anyone made ani's savvier seller mod work? I installed it and forced sims to visit the lot, but nobody would buy anything. I tried to open up a community lot instead, there was ONE person out of maybe 10 who looked at an item, but nobody bought anything

Use the Nvidia Control Panel to set up a profile for TS3.exe (for Patch 1.69) or TS3w.exe (with the "w" for 1.67). Arrange for Vertical Sync (On or Adaptive, whichever one works better), Triple Buffering On, and set the max frame rate explicitly to the refresh rate of your monitor or just under it. Most monitors are 60 Hz, so the goal becomes 60 fps or under. Some can run higher (75, 144, etc.). To see the frame rates you are actually getting in-game, Ctrl+Shift+C to bring up the cheats console and type fps on (enter). As you play and move the game camera around, the displayed frame rate should never exceed the refresh rate of your monitor, or at least not by very much. To make the display go away, cheats console again and type fps off (enter). If the Nvidia Control Panel settings are not enough to cap the frame rates, then we move on and add in another tool such as Nvidia Inspector or RivaTuner Stats Server (RTSS). I use RTSS myself because all of my cards are AMD and not Nvidia to begin with, and AMD's own control panel tools have never done the job for me. |

And then I loaded up the game and suddenly 3 extra sims! no thanks. I'm running Zerbu (obvs) and the full Nraas suite and I loathe the idea of randomly spawned Townies, each of my families were specifically created/chosen. Look for this code: <MinCoworkers>3</MinCoworkers> <MaxCoworkers>5</MaxCoworkers> There will be 2 instances of this code and you will need to edit Both of them. Coworkers are Sims in addition to your Sim. Therefore, if you want this career to only have 1 boss and 2 staff (one of which is your Sim) then you will want the MaxCoworkers to be 2. Replace the above code with this: <MinCoworkers>0</MinCoworkers> <MaxCoworkers>2</MaxCoworkers> Be sure to replace Both instances of the code. 4. Click File > Save, and close Notepad. 5. You will see a box that says, “Resource has been updated. Commit changes?” Click Yes. 6. You should save the new package with a new name so that you know it’s been edited. Click File > Save As and name it something like Architecture_Career_Simmortality_Edited.package The game seems to read files better when there are no spaces in the package name. 7. Put the package in your Mods folder as usual and be sure to delete your Cache Files (especially scriptCache.package) before starting the game. Have fun |
You star! Much thanks.

San Francisco styled world
4 Attachment(s)
Hi so I am building a San Francisco styled world and I'm missing a few key objects that could really bring the city to life and give it the charm it needs. Does anyone know of or have a Toll Booth like these images? Doesn't have to be active or a working object obviously just for decoration. I've attempted to make a mesh from a 3D model I found online but no luck. Anything similar will do as I have already wasted two full days on this single item
I am also seeking to find a skyline to have in the distance. So any city distant terrain that anyone knows about? I already have "Nukael_CityTerrain_Distant02.rar" but I am looking for something similar to the picture I uploaded so more crowded city vibe. I have found this image but cant seem to find the download link. I'm also looking for a trolley car or track for them! Really in need of the San Fran transportation. |

Sooo I want to make Cronor a home world with future traits a la this thread: https://modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=643041 But I have a couple questions about how this was done
What it seems I need to do to make a custom future is: rename the Cronor.world to Oasis Landing.world open in s3pe import the future world resource save and replace the original future world file with the new custom one So if I want a future homeworld like the thread do I still need to swap out the original Oasis Landing with the custom one? The thread mentions editing the future resource file from an 06 to an 02 to mark it as a city but... I'm not sure how to edit the resource? I get to the part where I import it but s3pe won't let me see any details about the resource or edit it at all. How do I edit this future resource file? I feel so silly lol |

I'm curious, because I may upgrade my monitor in the future but not specifically for TS3. However....
Does anyone have a 4k HDR 400/500/600/1000/1400 10 or 12 bpc (bits per component/color depth) monitor and knows if that helps with color banding and dithering with TS3 or are the results the same? I'm going to guess it may be the same according to the typical usage scenarios says "Applications need to be written with more than 8 bpc output, setting a higher value here will not improve the image of the application that does not support more than 8 bpc." I doubt TS3 supports more than 8 bpc, though I could be wrong. Also according to the typical usage scenarios says "Using higher output color depth can help you display colors with high quality, especially for smooth color transitions and gradients." |
Hi, knowledgeable TS3 Simmers! Being an incredibly stupid TS3 Simmer, I must ask some very basic questions of you. Like: is it possible to force specific dress codes for community lot visitors? Any mods or NRaas settings I'm unaware as of yet?

Could I moor the houseboat on a houseboat-moor on a residential lot? Or will this mess up my game? (Adding a houseboat moor..) Will a houseboat moor to the normal motorboat-moors? Or can I only use those walkway-moors that you build houseboats on? |

Thanks, MurderPrincessK! Downloaded and in use. Now onto the next stupid question. (I feel I should know this, but... Brain fail. ) Anyone knows if we can turn off that hiding of trees and hanging objects and various in-your-way stuff, like we could in TS2? My trees are disappearing if I get too close and I don't like it. A mod possibly, or a hidden option somewhere? |

"fadeobjects off" cheat prevents that. Using the "tab" camera by pressing tab on your keyboard also prevents objects from fading. |

I downloaded Kuree's save cleaner but...when I go to run it, I get the error message that "the given key was not in the dictionary." I can't copy-paste from the error message, so I hope I manually copy this correctly:
atSystem.Collections.Generic.Dictionary2.,get_item (TKeykey) atSims3.RegistryKey.TSCC_get_Sims3MyDocFolder () atSave_Cleaner.Form1.Form1_Load(Object sender, EventArgs e) Is this telling me that it can't find my serial numbers for my game? It gives me the option to quit or to continue. Continuing results in a choice of no saves to clean. The Simlogical support page for this mod is, of course, long gone. Thus I am not sure that I have installed it correctly, or in the correct place. I know there are MTS neighbors who use this mod, I wonder if anybody around here knows it well enough to tell me what to do? |

Thank you so much, that's exactly it. I must have missed that information before (to be fair the link I found earlier only had v2, didn't mention v1). Found v1, downloaded & extracted it, & it seems to be working.
Edit: like for v1 is here,: https://mega.nz/file/rZME1ZKa#UMNPO...v7Gocr9ANKWb9G8 It's not entirely obvious to find currently. |
Does sims 3 have any rules for how deep folders should/shouldn't go?
|
Quote: Originally posted by CASnarl
That depends, which folders did you have in mind? If you mean in the Mods folder, the standard Resource, cfg file allows for nesting 5 layers deep. That can be increased, but it's not recommended to do so because it can add some delay to the files being read if the nesting gets too carried away. Or did you mean something else? |

About pets and cars...
You know how you can sit a Sim in a car with their pets and go somewhere, but can't do the same when going back home? Now, is that what it should be (bad design), or am I doing something wrong? ETA: Also, why aren't my Sim's ghost friends (residents of Midnight Hollow) listed in her relationship panel? They are residents and playable Sims just like any other supernatural. They have a visitable house. |
Is it just me or is Aurora Skies really laggy? Bad Routing? Is there a fixed world version out there I'm not finding?
|
Quote: Originally posted by MurderPrincessK
There should be one here that fixed that, as well as the snow as well: https://potato-ballad-sims.tumblr.c...-was-one-of-the However, it uses a decrappified Aurora Skies as a base, so you may have to reinstall with a decrappified version of the world first. |
Thanks, I skipped over that thinking it was just a snow fix, which I don't care about as I tend to turn off seasons. Reading comprehension, well, actually reading it at all would have been a good idea.

When creating fuller figured female sims, how do I prevent her face from also becoming fuller? I've got sliders that adjust the waist, hips and bust but facial sliders are for micro adjustments when I just don't want her face to change.

I downloaded a lot that came with two gravestones. Is it safe to put in my game? I ran it through CUSTARD, but nothing "extra" came up. Thanks in advance!

Can you move clubs, and lounges to Sunset Valley? If you can, how?

Or you could build your own or find some custom ones to download and install from safe places to download like here at MTS. Or you could load up a world that already has whatever you want and add the existing lots to the community lots bin to place in other worlds, again in Edit Town. |
What is the file name of Arezzo Bathroom Cabinets?

Do premade homeless townies and NPC sims have random traits?
I've played with townies lots and lots of times, as well as NPCs (service and role sims) and as far as I can remember they've always had the same traits. Playing Twinbrook right now and there's a whole bunch of them with traits I've never seen on those specific sims before.. Questioning my own sanity right now. |
Quote: Originally posted by Woolysmurf
Some do and some don't (either that or we are both going slightly mad together). I think maybe when the NPCs were made some were only were given a few traits and then some sort of flag for 'fill in the rest with random traits' was added but that's just a guess. |

Well, either way at least I'm not alone then. All service sims seem to stay static and until now I thought homeless townies did the same as over the last 10+ years I've had no variation that I can remember in the Twinbrookians. Not as familiar with other worlds' townies. Oh well. As long as nothing's wrong with my save it's all gravy. |
Is there a restriction on the "Oh My Ghost" opportunity that stops you from bringing back people who have been dead for quite a while? I got the opportunity but it won't allow me to use it on my sims little brother who drowned as a child. In all these years I don't think I've ever bothered to try it out before as I, in general, find the concept of ghost stupid, but yeah I love me some fantasy, go figure.

is there a way to get sims to look straight ahead at camera?

My sim is in the ghosthunter profession and received a medal. There's one in the inventory to place on the wall, but the message said there was one to wear, too. I looked in CAS, but don't see it. All the posts I can find about it are from 10 years ago and mention using a cheat to unlock it. Is that still the case, or am I looking in the wrong place?

Anybody have suggestions for good quality screenshots on dark skinned sims

That's the exact thing that had me go looking for one several years back that I've used ever since. Gets rid of the horrible drift and feels much better to use. |

Sure do. https://brntwaffles.tumblr.com/post...-camera-mod-to/ - I recommend the "No Drift" version if you want to try it out. The changes aren't incredibly drastic to where it will be like whoa this is way different than what I'm used to. But you'll notice it the longer you play with it, especially with that annoying "sliding" from the drift that the camera has by default. Allows you to go much lower too. |
You're very welcome.

Can't figure out why sims won't show up at the neighborhood pool lot unless I invite them with Nrass.
Lot is set as a pool. It is summer. Lot has a pool, a play ground, picnic area, and outhouses. Playing in aurora skies and they showed up at the old original swimming pool lot, but I built a new more natural looking one and now I am flummoxed as to what is wrong with it. Yes, I did bulldoze the old pool so they aren't going there. Any ideas? |
I don't have any specific ideas, but have you seen this thread here: https://modthesims.info/t/613154
It contains several general tips about populating lots. If I remember correctly, I've once read that Aurora Skies in particular has too many community lots for the number of sims living there... perhaps the location of your new pool lot is just too far away from the center? |
Hmm, Okay I suppose that could be the problem, but at first I hadn't added any lots and they weren't showing up, but had been before changes. Then I added a hangout and a consignment store. People do show up at the hangout. Weird.
Its actually closer to town center than the old pool was. I went ahead and removed all but one of the beaches and changed the parks to small parks. Made sure all rabbitholes were set to no visitors allowed, most already were. I shall see if it has any effects. If not, maybe I'll make it a festival lot. |

I read all kinds of things and something confuses me: What is the difference between playable, townies and NPCs?
And if I want to install a skin that works as default and can be passed on which do I install? For example, Pleasantsims recommends this one but which one do I install? Are custom skins not geneticized and does geneticized mean what I think it means? They can be passed on? And what does townified mean? https://lilith-sims.tumblr.com/post...ey-skinblend-hi DOWNLOAD HONEY HONEY - CUSTOM DOWNLOAD HONEY HONEY - GENETICIZED AND TOWNIFIED DOWNLOAD HONEY HONEY - ALL DEFAULTS Thanks! |

Townies specifically refer to unplayable role Sims and such when people mention them most of the time, though some people do use it to refer to the premades. If referring to the Sims that come with a neighborhood or iconic Sims like the Goths, people usually just say premades. The link you posted is for a TS2 skin. TS3 skins don't work like that. You have default, which replaces the base skins wholly and you can only have one, or non-default which you can have as many of as you'd like. Geneticized in TS2 just means the skin was specifically made to be compatible with the genetics system and can be carried over to offspring. Same deal for eyes. |

After not having time to play for a long time, I am finally able to play again! I've started a new save with an old family from the bin. After setting up, building the house and importing NRaas settings I'm ready to start and the first thing I realize is that there are most options missing from the toy oven
The only options available are "Muffin" and "Cake", no flavors (wasn't there vanilla and blueberry for muffins?), no brownies or cookies My sim child has 3 cooking skill points now and still no change... Does anybody know of a mod that is messing with these options? I don't remember putting something new in the game, but it is more than 6 months without playing now, so who knows Thank you for any suggestions |
For people who play with Nraas mods (Sorry I dont like being member at several websites).
Its been a few months before I played so my memory is a bit messed up. I like to use Woohoo Near romance for story purposes, but I don't like how the SP hoo up random related sims.... like siblings. I was trying to match up two cousins (because my game has a pre-modern setting where I allow certain near romance relationships - cousins, nephews/nieces, step family etc---- but not full-blood siblings or parents), but with those settings on false, for some reason I only get "take romantic pictures" and yes Ive tried to reset the sims and removed cache. I tried to put Woohoo Near romance on true but disable automatic interactions, yet the game want to mate siblings in non-active households... Any ideas? |

Nevermind! Turns out, I didn't select Ambitions in the launcher and this is the expansion that brings us more baking goods variety for the toy oven I didn't know that and it is one of the few examples where expansion packs are related to each other. You learn something new everyday |

Are you using Nraas Story Progression? It's been a while since I used it, so I might be wrong, but there is an option in Woohooer called "Link to Story Progression" which is, by default, set to true. I think I had to set it to false. Otherwise, like you, I only got the option to "take romantic pictures". |
