Does this work off the grid?

It's a decor item, like the original. It doesn't have any work to do. If you for some reason experience problems placing the decor item off the grid, let me know.

Is there any way to make this a working typewriter? Like - use some of the animations from the computer for it - only maybe only make the writing and comedy menu items activate and like - have it be one that can work on lots that have the "off the grid" trait - but still working rather than decor? Otherwise for decor its great - I'd jus' really love to see it as working as given its mesh is literally from the game I feel like it matches better than other "working typewriter" mods out there

I could create a version of the typewriter that uses the tuning of a computer, but it would be all the tuning, with all the computer's menus, as well as hand placement and moving an invisible mouse around. I'll give it some thought.

I gave it a go, the menus show up but don't work, and off the grid didn't work at all. Bit beyond my competence, I guess.
You have my permission to find a modder who can convert my original typewriter decor item to a computer -- as long as they credit me in the object's description for the mesh and texture.
