Now, this is a real challenge and I am sorely tempted, but there is no way I would finish it properly. I will certainly download and play it and I will probably try to get to the Mortimer/Bella stage, but I can't guarantee even that. For me, the essential charm of TS2 is its utter unpredictability and while I always follow the essential premises when they are given, like in TS2 Pleasantview, I then proceed with the flow. The original Pleasantview results were different and often surprising every time I played it and, given the number of starting protagonists, they will be even more so in Pleasantview Plus. But - whatever happens, a great idea!

I didn't expect I'll start beginning of pleasantview again but this new version with extra sims and infant-friendly faces is really tempting 👀👀👀

Because Apartments
Wonderful! No houses? Great, I always rebuild them anyway. Lots of information about what children/grandchildren should be produced IF you want to get to the hood as we know it. I gave up trying to do some other "beginning of" hoods, because I WAS trying to get to the Smith family that exists when the original Strangetown begins, but got tired of the research required..Glab, Glam, Glarn Curious?
So thanks for this! Hope you will start a thread: What have you done with Pleasantview 4.3" . Or are going with "The new beginning of Pleasantview Plus"...there are so many versions!
Opps; was careless putting bin sims in apartments; will have to delete and re-download! And am having lots of problems figuring out family trees and who is in the same generation.
==============
Supposed to have no townies...But they showed up when I put the first family in a lot!
Because all of the 1st generation families move into a four-plex (apartment), and when babies are toddlers I move them into houses. I neglected to install mod that would keep townies from populating the empty apartment..fixed now, and those few former-apartment dwellers now are ignored by everyone and will still be irritating me when they are irritating the GRANDCHILDREN. I may have to find a way to send them somewhere.

This is such a great idea! Recover childhood memories by looking through Pleasantview memorabilia/family trees. :')
Just a question. I don't have The Sims 2 (Ultimate Collection). I have the Disco version (all). It will work?

None needed for the main hood and Open for Business for the sub-hood version.

I am tempted to play this one again.

I am also very tempted to have the newly born sims end up in a better world than the original one (It's my game, after all).

When I played my version I had them marry and bare the kids needed to bring it to what Pleasantview has but there all have so much money by then there is no way but to have a good life.

Goth's had over 2.5 mil in the bank and the Brokes had well over a mil in the bank by the time the 3rd child was born.
Yes Skip was still alive when I last played that hood a few years ago.

I started with the hood and moved in the first 5 families. Nothing of note happened yet, but I do find the ancestors interesting. Perhaps that is why I like the beginning hoods - they don't come around with problems that the player has not caused - and I could think up a number of problems for them along the way.

Having fun at this stage

I want to use a Pleasantview with all the houses, but I assume I still need to download this because you did something further than what I'd get if I downloaded carrit's sims right from the page and just moved those into a clean and empty Pleasantview. There's not recreations of all the houses, so I can't just use this, I need the houses that I can't get recreations of.

Here's an empty version of Pleasantview with all the original houses. https://modthesims.info/d/615468/cl...-templates.html

You can download the "subhood" version of this beginning of Pleasantview hood, add it as a subhood to the clean and empty Pleasantview, and later delete the empty beginning subhood. This will carry over all the ancestor sims from this beginning hood to your main Pleasantview hood.

That way, you'd have all the houses, as well as the ancestor sims in one neighborhood.

I was referring to yours. Thank you for making it, it's a good help. I am going to modify all the houses anyway with wallpaper, tiles, furniture, etc. from an older era. Some of the houses are still going to be rather modern looking, but I suppose I could just move the empty houses into the bin until I get to the modern Sims 2 era with all the ancestors and then put them back where they belong.

Wonderful! I'm just beginning generation 2; the babies of the first ancestors are now adults and having THEIR babies. For the first generation I put the 2 families whose children would marry into one house; I like playing big houses, and that also made it easy to get those first teenagers together. I plan on some disasters, more babies, and ancestors that show up on family trees with no other mention of them...well they have a life but not always business success and a family.

I just started playing this neighborhood a few days ago (including The New Beginning of Strangetown as a subhood) and I've been having a ton of fun! It's so interesting getting to know all these ancestors which you usually only get to see the tiny greyed out portraits of in the family tree!

However, with all the Sims included in this version, I'm a little surprised to find Robert Crumplebottom missing. To be fair, he was only mentioned in The Sims 1 a few times and never made a physical appearance. But while I'm not huge on The Sims 4, apparently he appeared there in the form of "Roberto Crinkletop". So I recreated him (best I could) and plan to let him and Agnes marry some time after Erik Darling's death, and then kill him off via falling satellite (probably the closest death type to his original "death by falling chandelier" mentioned in The Sims 1 Vacation)!

In any case, I greatly appreciate the effort this must have taken!
