For those of you having problems with pets not breeding above the normal 6 limit, try following the instructions in these comments for editing your "userStartup.cheat" file. Although it may seem unrelated, once I created the cheat file with the right values it started letting me breed my pets past 6!

I can exceed the limit of moving sims in, but now it only shows 9 icons when it's a family of 10...

Hey! Interested in getting this mod, but hesitant since I'll be using UC. Any updates? Cheers!

I have a problem, that popped up recently. I can't move a sim in, from neighborhood view or just by asking them. The game tells me that households can't be larger than 8 sims. Keeping that in mind, I have a pet and was able to adopt a little kitten, so I have now 8 sims and two pets. I'm playing TS2 UC.

For those having trouble adding more Sims to their families when there are already 8+, why not try adding this to your userStartup.cheat?

uintProp maxTotalSims 50
uintProp maxTotalHumans 35
uintProp maxTotalPets 15

I have no idea if it works. Just an idea I found when browsing.

To those unsure about the "Userstartup.cheat" you should read this. The userstartup.cheat is a file with the file extension as .CHEAT, a sims 2 file made specifically for the sims 2. Userstartup.cheat is NOT a .txt file. If you create a .txt file and add the code required for merging in the Nhood to it, saving it and leaving it as a .txt file in the /config you will not be able to merge families in the Nhood. Here is the correct thing to do:

- Create a .txt file within /config and open the .txt file
- add the following lines of code:

uintProp maxTotalSims 50
uintProp maxTotalHumans 35
uintProp maxTotalPets 15

- go to file, save as
- the "save as type" change it to "all files"
- name the file userstartup.cheat

you should now have a .CHEAT file in your config file, keep in mind this works with any other cheats you need as default. Merging families in the Nhood now works.

I have Sims 2 Ultimate Collection installed and this mod does not work. I have 8 sims in a family and the "try for baby" option is not there to make a 9th family member. Tried the userstartup.cheat, nothing. does anybody know how to get this to work with Ultimate Collection??

Edit: never mind I just realised the woman was too old to have any more (they have 8 kids so i guess it is working haha!)

I came back to this thread just now, but if you are wondering what to do here then listen to this as this also applies to UT2004. Games during this era run on 2 GB of ram and only 2, they are limited to two. If you have ever played UT2004, you may know an error that displays "Ran out of virtual memory" when your game crashes. The sims 2 also has a similar error to this (if I remember correctly). I have also noticed that when you reach a certain family member limit with this mod, the sims 2 crashes to desktop. So here is how you fix both errors:

Credits to Jassa: http://digitalperversion.net/garden...p?topic=21931.0)

- Download CFF explorer
- Ensure that you back up your sims 2.exe file. If you are using the ultimate collection, which I predict you are, this is located in:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection\Fun with Pets\SP9\TSBin

The .exe file is "Sims2EP9.exe"

if you are not using the ultimate the collection, find your sims 2 shortcut and right click it, then click "properties". It will show a bar that says "target" and next to "target" is the .exe file we are looking for, click on "open file location" and your .exe file will be highlighted.

So now we know where the .exe file is, excellent. Now let's get it to run on more than 2 GB of ram

- open CFF explorer
- click on file, then open
- browse to your sims2.exe file (Since I am using the ultimate collection, I need to find Sims2EP9.exe)
- now that it is open, click on File Header at the left, find Characteristics at the right, and click the Click here blue button.
- Tick App can handle >2GB address space.
- click OK
- Save by clicking the disk icon or going to 'File -> Save.
- Overwrite the file when it asks you to.

Then simply do this:

http://simswiki.info/wiki.php?title...Prevention/TS3W

this article is for the sims 3 but is also for what we are doing here, but when you look for your .exe, find your sims2.exe file and add it to the data execution prevention tab

For UT2004, simply do all the above with your UT2004.exe file which is located in Unreal Tournament 2004/System

Restart you computer, the sims 2 should now work a bit better with less lag and UT2004 should stop giving you the "ran out of virtual memory" error! Hope this helps. I am going to make a video on this soon since people are curious to know how to fix these errors

Hello, please can someone explain me how to put this mod to work? I tried to move a couple to a lot already used by eight other sims, but it doesn´t let me. It says too many people and lot in red whole thing.
Does it need a cheat? Do I have to do anything else first? Please, help would be appreciated .
My game is up to AL/Mansions&Garden, and yes, I made sure to download Numenor's update.

It sounds like you may need a userstartup.cheat, if you scroll up on this comment board you'll find one of my posts explaining how to make that file in order for the mod to work. I also made a post addressing an issue where the game crashes at a certain number of sims which is also important to fix

Hello! Thanks for the answer, but I already found a way around it. I used the cheat of "Add neighbour to family" and it works, even with sims from the neighbourhood box.

I used this mod in University (with the Ultimate Collection) and I sent a Sim to class and they never came back. Is that just a University problem or will the problem happen when I said someone to work in a normal neighborhood? Thanks.

This worked great, until I installed a shorter pregnancy mod. Turns out, this mod and the shorter pregnancy mod are basically the same thing. Oops!

Thanks for the good times The Sims and The Sims Community. After 18 years, it is time for me to move on to something more purposeful.
