Awesome stairs, I'll be using them on every home I make..that is, if I can get them into my game. I downloaded all 6 stair files and placed them in the downloads folder in a folder called "build". I extracted all six files and followed the instructions in the readme. I placed the specific text for each set of stairs at the bottom of the modularstairs file in the C drive and updated the buildTipindex from 8 to 14 (I hadn't downloaded any other stairs). I went into the game and saw that the large stairs were not there (the ones where you can go up to another floor in a house) but the smaller stairs were...like the one's you'd use for a deck or something. Are there only supposed to be the smaller stairs or have I done something wrong?

I'm having problems installing them. In my Sims 2 Folder the sub-folders are labelled Cameras, Collections, Config, Downloads, HTTPCache, Logs, LotCatalog, Movies, Music, Neighborhoods, Projects, SavedSims, SC4Terrains, Storytelling, Teleport, Temp, and Thumbnails. None of these folders have sections for Res-Catalog-Scripts either. What's gone wrong?

You haven't followed the file path correctly, check the ReadMe file and follow the file path I've given you.

It says I should have a sub-folder called TSData, which I can't seem to find.

That's because you're not following the correct file path. Do you know what a file path is?

The file path is:

C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 \TSData\Res\Catalog\Scripts\modularstairs.txt

I can't be more clear than that, and that's exactly how it's listed in the README file.

I apparently do not know what a file path is.

Hi Dany, can you make me a picture of what you are talking about? Just post it in this thread and I'll be able to help you.

Okay, (I didn't believe it was possible to be more confused WITH a picture)

What I think you're saying is you can't build from floor B to floor C?

If so, then that's probably because the gap between the two floors isn't correct. That is something you have to figure out depending on the height difference. It's usually about 4 spaces I think, but it can be more or less. At any rate, it isn't a problem with the stairs, so much as it's a problem with the way you're building the levels. Try spacing your floor C a little closer or farther away from the floor B level.

PS: Next time you want to make a picture, you can just hit "c" key in-game to take a snapshot of your set.

Error of prononciation and Image.... Maybe
What I wanted to say it was how to make of the staircase has stages. The first stage has 4 steps and the second has 7 of them. Truths staircases have some I believe 13 but it is an example.
Can you help me.
Thank you.

Thank you for the stairs. I was getting tired of the ones in my game. What a refreshing change. Thanks for sharing.

Perfect! I built a replica of my in-laws' house but wasn't able to add the basement, since their basement stairs run directly beneath the stairs up to the second floor, something which isn't possible to do with the regular TS2 staircases. Now I can finish it!

I was just wondering if this works with University, I didnt want to go through changing everything and have it not work. Cause knowing me, I would never be able to fix it again if it didn't work lol.

Yes, they all work with or without University.

Like, oh, 90% of Western houses? No kidding, eh?

Love these stairs for this exact reason. Plus, being connecting stairs, Sims don't bicker over them, so I don't need elaborate double staircases in otherwise average houses. This is the most NORMAL housing that I've been able to create.

Love these stairs. Repeated for emphasis.
