This is a new mesh, and means that it's a brand new self contained object that usually does not require a specific Expansion pack (although this is possible depending on the type). It may have Recolours hosted on MTS - check below the description for more information.
After many requests to make a piano after the release of my modular pipe organ, I've finally gotten around to making one.

There's not too much that needs to be said about it, but if the baby grand included in Late Night isn't grand enough for you, this is a full size concert piano. It is playable if you have the Late Night version and decorative if the have the base game version. It is 2x4 in size. There are three recolourable areas, the exterior, the seat, and the interior of the piano's shell. For those more musically savvy, the piano is a Bösendorfer Imperial 290 Grand Piano.

The object is found under entertainment-hobbies/skills or misc décor

Feel free to redistribute this object with lots, but please give credit.

Update 10-26
2 versions now available
Now compatible with Late Night
this adds the ability to play the piano

If you are downloading for Late Night, please download "Bosie Late Night"

If you don't have Late Night, you can still get the decorative version. Download "Bosie Base Game"

Both versions have a new added stencil that forces shine on the primary texture (so that wood textures will shine). Select it from the list of preset styles to use.

Polygon Counts:
Poly Count: 3768

Additional Credits:
Milkshape
TSR Workshop
Bösendorfer (for overlay textures)

You must have the expansion or stuff packs listed below installed to use this custom content. Please see the post text for any exceptions.

Sims 3

This is a multi-part download:

If you have any pack from the base game through Ambitions, download "Bosie Base Game"

If you have Late Night, download "Bosie Late Night"

Don't forget to Thank the creator after downloading! Use the Thanks button located above the screenshots above.
Quick Guide:

1. Click the file listed on the Files tab to download the file to your computer.
2. Extract the zip, rar, or 7z file. Now you will have either a .package or a .sims3pack file.

For Package files:

1. Cut and paste the file into your Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Mods\Packages folder. If you do not already have this folder, you should read the full guide to Package files first: Sims 3:Installing Package Fileswiki, so you can make sure your game is fully patched and you have the correct Resource.cfg file.
2. Run the game, and find your content where the creator said it would be (build mode, buy mode, Create-a-Sim, etc.).

For Sims3Pack files:

1. Cut and paste it into your Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Downloads folder. If you do not have this folder yet, it is recommended that you open the game and then close it again so that this folder will be automatically created. Then you can place the .sims3pack into your Downloads folder.
2. Load the game's Launcher, and click on the Downloads tab. Find the item in the list and tick the box beside it. Then press the Install button below the list.
3. Wait for the installer to load, and it will install the content to the game. You will get a message letting you know when it's done.
4. Run the game, and find your content where the creator said it would be (build mode, buy mode, Create-a-Sim, etc.).

Extracting from RAR, ZIP, or 7z: You will need a special program for this. For Windows, we recommend 7-Zip and for Mac OSX, we recommend Keka. Both are free and safe to use.

Default have a request
This is really nice and thanks so much. Can't wait to try it out. I have a request though. Is there anyway you might be able to make a square grand piano? We have a Steinway square grand in our living room from the 1850's-1870's. The patent on it is 1859. Its really gorgeous made of rosewood with carved tapered legs. I actually tried modding one for the sims 2 in milkshape once but my teenage daughter decided the computer needed 'cleaning' and so all my milkshape projects went out with the trash. I am no expert at modding so I really don't think it would have worked in the game very well. I would so love to see one of you guys make one.

Beautiful piano and I like the fact that they won't be always playing it when I don't want them to. Looks beautiful but isn't a constant annoyance. Perfect. Thanks so much, I'll be using it in all of my mansions. :-)

No. It will be simply a decorative object if you download the base game version. I made it an option so people without LN could still have a decorative piano if they wanted.

Fantastic work, I missed instruments after switching from S2 to S3. I'm not sure if it's even doable, but is there any way to make it playable by children? I have a virtuoso child, and I am sure she would love to be able to play. :D

I love your piano and organ. They're both very beautiful. If you're open to taking requests and suggestions It would be wonderful if you could make something like an old fashioned fortepiano. Stylish, but smaller? Something that one could put in a study or parlor.

Either way: I love this piano and I'm getting it for late night, and thank you so much.

This piano didn't work, as soon as I put it in the game it just showed up as a big block of wood. I was disappointed and hope this is fixed soon.
