"There were also some recipes that didn't work so I couldn't add them. If anybody is willing to help me figure them out, I'll list them down below"

Did you check if those recipes tunings have the utility_info POWER added? If so, deleting that might help.

Hello, thank you! They all do, I changed it to disabled, but I'll test deleting it. Although the problem seems to be with the cooking process - the ones that don't work sims will start preparing and will stop when it's time to take it to stove, or they will put it on the stove and stop. The game's recipes mention a lot of off-the-grid specific tuning (I hope i'm using the right terms) and I tried doing the same thing for all of them but it works for some and for others it doesn't, even if they are prepared in very similar ways.

Thank you so, so much for this! I've been checking every once in a while to see if someone makes a mod for more off-the-grid foods ever since Eco Living came along because I use the trait for historical households rather than for eco/green living lifestyle and it's never made a lot of sense to me that they'd limit the amount of available foods so drastically. This is exactly the kind of mod I've needed, thank you once again!
Now if someone could make saunas off-the-grid compatible then my 19th century estonian farmhouse would be complete.

Thank you. This solves so many problems for me. After all if you have a wooden stove, you should be able to cook and bake!

Haven't tried this yet, but thank you for making it! I'm a bit dumb with these things, so could I ask--does anyone know it this would conflict with the "move cakes to baking" mod? Also, is these a mod that SPECIFICALLY let's you BAKE off the grid, cause that's really what I'm looking for (baking bread has existed forever, you do not not electricity for it lol)

I have not seen that mod, but it is possible. It will conflict with anything that overrides the same tuning listed in the description.

This mod only covers some base game recipes for now (all listed in the description). I want to make it available for GTWs baking recipes and Season's honey cake. The thing about baking is that I could either add them to the already cluttered 'Cook Off-The-Grid' interaction, or add a new baking interaction to the stove, but I'd have to add it to every stove separately overriding their tuning, or... make it a script mod, which is something that I'd have to learn how to do when I have more time...

If you're playing with a historical save, however, you can check out LittlBowBub's Ye Olde Cookbook mod, it's really amazing! It has a lot of new recipes, including its own bread and cheese.

My sims aren't proceeding to cook the recipe after preparing it. I'm not seeing any tuning/compatibility issues either (ACCORDING TO BETTER EXCEPTIONS). Is it possible that it might need an update?

Hii sorry for taking so long to reply. Does this happen to all recipes or a specific one? Which stove are you using?

Apple Pie isn't able to be cooked off-the-grid still, for some reason. It doesn't appear in the list.

Hi, sorry for the long wait, I seem to have somehow deleted the recipe *facepalm*
Anyway it should be there now, thank you for noticing!

When I try bake a cake, they prepare it but don't put it into a pan in the oven.
Also when I try to do the "Crown Roast" (the image for this is just a blue square btw), they get the meat package from the fridge, then it resets and the meat falls on the floor. If I pick it up, they start to prepare it, but once it goes into the oven, it can't be completed, and I have to throw away what's in there....
I'm just using the standard base-game off-the-grid oven.

Hello, I'm sorry you've encountered those problems, but thank you for telling me about them.

About the Crown Roast, I thought it was a base game recipe because the wiki lists it as so, but it turns out it's actually from the free holiday pack. That's why it appears as a blue square for you. I'll update the pack requirements to say that this mod requires the holiday pack as well. I missed it in my previous testing because I forgot to disable it, I apologize for your trouble. I'd recommend getting this pack though, it's free.

As for the cakes, it seems to be a similar issue. My guess is that the "phaseSimple_Food_BakingPan_Cake_OTG" that it references is actually a pack-specific file and I had no idea until now. Again I must have missed this in my testing, I apologize. However I think I can solve this easily by doing the same thing I did for the chocolate cake, which I have just tested and it seems to work as intended. I'll try to fix the cakes by tomorrow or the day after as I'm very busy with real life work, and then I'll take the chance to test all the recipes with just the base game again.

Thank you so much for the feedback!

Hii fixed the cakes and got the Crown Roast in a separate file! If you find any other problems please let me know ^^

Ooh, this is so cool. I should definitely download it and test it out, on my next OTG/SL build. I also found it quite interesting how the baking interactions seem to be so much more complicated to mod than just cooking... I really wish the TS4 team would consider this a bug and fix it. Not being able to bake bread without electricity is so silly.

Anyway, thank you for all your hard work!

I don't think the Sims team understands what off-the-grid means. 100 years ago, there was no grid, yet people seemed to be able to cook whatever they wanted. Thanks!
