This is a Maxis Recolour which means that it is a recolour of an item that already exists in your game. Please check the Expansion pack requirements to see which game pack it recolours.
Picked Upload! This is a picked upload! It showcases some of the best talent and creativity available on MTS and in the community.
Download includes eight different paintings on a 3x1 mesh (the "Pixel Still-Life No. 3" canvas from Late Night, but this is a full clone, so it is basegame compatible.) The painting is found in the "Decor -> Wall Hangings" section of the catalog, and is 2000 simoleons, just like the original. All of the paintings are fully re-CAStable with four channels, allowing you to customize the images to whatever color scheme/pattern you like:

Attached screenshots include all eight versions of the painting in different coloration examples including the RGBA mask, as well as two shots of the painintgs in a lot to give an idea of size.

Additional Credits:
Thanks to the creators of S3PE and S3OC and to Inge Jones for the Texture Tweaker update that allows addition of a fourth channel (yay!) All paintings were designed by me, using basic Photoshop brushes plus a couple of extras from brusheezy.com.

You must have the expansion or stuff packs listed below installed to use this custom content. Please see the post text for any exceptions.

Don't forget to Thank the creator after downloading! Use the Thanks button located above the screenshots above.
Quick Guide:

1. Click the file listed on the Files tab to download the file to your computer.
2. Extract the zip, rar, or 7z file. Now you will have either a .package or a .sims3pack file.

For Package files:

1. Cut and paste the file into your Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Mods\Packages folder. If you do not already have this folder, you should read the full guide to Package files first: Sims 3:Installing Package Fileswiki, so you can make sure your game is fully patched and you have the correct Resource.cfg file.
2. Run the game, and find your content where the creator said it would be (build mode, buy mode, Create-a-Sim, etc.).

For Sims3Pack files:

1. Cut and paste it into your Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Downloads folder. If you do not have this folder yet, it is recommended that you open the game and then close it again so that this folder will be automatically created. Then you can place the .sims3pack into your Downloads folder.
2. Load the game's Launcher, and click on the Downloads tab. Find the item in the list and tick the box beside it. Then press the Install button below the list.
3. Wait for the installer to load, and it will install the content to the game. You will get a message letting you know when it's done.
4. Run the game, and find your content where the creator said it would be (build mode, buy mode, Create-a-Sim, etc.).

Extracting from RAR, ZIP, or 7z: You will need a special program for this. For Windows, we recommend 7-Zip and for Mac OSX, we recommend Keka. Both are free and safe to use.

Beautiful! I've gotten rid of most of my CC but this is so versatile that it must be downloaded!

Question: Where did you get that ottoman from in the living room picture?

Thanks for the lovely comments. So glad everyone is finding these useful. I have fun making them, and then way too much fun playing with them in CAS.

First of all OMG YOUR USERNAME IS MY FAVORITE BAND. OK, done squeeing. The ottoman is the "Sopha Soft" coffee table in Showtime.

So awesome! I totally over use the "Pixel Still-Life" painting from Late Night because of its versatile size and style, and often want to use it multiple times on one lot (which would be ridiculous). Now I can use it to my heart's content without worrying about redundancy! Thank you for creating and sharing these wonderful, CASTable paintings!

These are great! Only trouble is that when I use em, I spend so much time playing with the painting that I never get to the Sims...

They will fit everywhere! And if they don't fit we can make them fit by using CASt :D. Very useful! Thank you!
