This is a Maxis Recolour which means that it is a recolour of an item that already exists in your game. Please check the Expansion pack requirements to see which game pack it recolours.
This is a featured upload! It showcases the best talent and creativity available on MTS and in the community.
Running out of places to put your stuff? Bookshelves shouldn't be just for books. So I cleared off the Back2School Bookshelf and added 15 slots.

This is not a functioning bookcase, so it doesn't produce books and such. This is now a functioning bookcase. Each shelf has 3 slots; left, middle, and right.

It can be found in Surfaces/Storage and cost 200. Comes in four colors Comes in original bookshelf presets.

Updated 7-8-12:
  • updated to 1.34
  • is now a functioning bookcase

Updated 5-27-10:
  • Edited RSLT to allow larger items
  • allows the use of objects with interactions
  • fixed catalog description

Don't forget to Thank the creator after downloading! Use the Thanks button located above the screenshots above.
Quick Guide:

1. Click the file listed on the Files tab to download the file to your computer.
2. Extract the zip, rar, or 7z file. Now you will have either a .package or a .sims3pack file.

For Package files:

1. Cut and paste the file into your Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Mods\Packages folder. If you do not already have this folder, you should read the full guide to Package files first: Sims 3:Installing Package Fileswiki, so you can make sure your game is fully patched and you have the correct Resource.cfg file.
2. Run the game, and find your content where the creator said it would be (build mode, buy mode, Create-a-Sim, etc.).

For Sims3Pack files:

1. Cut and paste it into your Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Downloads folder. If you do not have this folder yet, it is recommended that you open the game and then close it again so that this folder will be automatically created. Then you can place the .sims3pack into your Downloads folder.
2. Load the game's Launcher, and click on the Downloads tab. Find the item in the list and tick the box beside it. Then press the Install button below the list.
3. Wait for the installer to load, and it will install the content to the game. You will get a message letting you know when it's done.
4. Run the game, and find your content where the creator said it would be (build mode, buy mode, Create-a-Sim, etc.).

Extracting from RAR, ZIP, or 7z: You will need a special program for this. For Windows, we recommend 7-Zip and for Mac OSX, we recommend Keka. Both are free and safe to use.

Thank you so much for this! It would be great if it could also be used as a bookshelf. But it is cool that it matches the one that is a real bookshelf. Great idea to make this!

Anyone else tempted to try the bookshelf-on-a-bookshelf idea? :D

Thanks a lot for this! Soooooo much better than placing gems and small relics on a big fancy display. I hope you make some more shelves like this too!

It looks good. It tastes like nothing on earth.

Issues: Some things that shouldn't fit on a shelf WILL fit on these. For example, the whole bookshelf can be placed on another bookshelf.

Sounds more like a feature than an issue to me.

Good stuff, thankya.

I'm so glad you made this. Finally, more options for personalization (if that's a word).

I love this! I was really looking for something functional to put stuff on, especially for my smaller homes.

This deserves to be featured!
