This is a new mesh, and means that it's a brand new self contained object that usually does not require a specific Expansion pack (although this is possible depending on the type). It may have Recolours hosted on MTS - check below the description for more information.

I really-really wanted a glassy door for kitchens, patios, balconies and such. I thought EA's "Mags' Door" would be great if it lost the stencil. But it is solid and has nothing to do with glass and my attempts to replace the middle part failed. So I did it the hard way. I cloned another door, that had glass, and replaced the whole mesh instead. This meant that a lot of new problems sprung up, like with the normals and messing up the boneassignments, I'm such an amateur at this... I placed wooden parts in the middle, and finally managed to make it work okay, I hope it will work for you.
Because it is cloned from a metal door, the defaults you will find with it will be metal, so you have to apply a wooden texture to it yourself. Choose horizontal textures, they look better for this door (I had to rotate the texturemap to fit the clone's map.)
Known issues: There are some odd shadowed parts that are visible in sunlight. It's because of the normals, I tried fixing them, this is the best I could do.
This door can be found in the catalog right next to "Mags' Door", it costs 270§.
Let me know if you have any problems with it.

Don't forget to Thank the creator after downloading! Use the Thanks button located above the screenshots above.
Quick Guide:

1. Click the file listed on the Files tab to download the file to your computer.
2. Extract the zip, rar, or 7z file. Now you will have either a .package or a .sims3pack file.

For Package files:

1. Cut and paste the file into your Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Mods\Packages folder. If you do not already have this folder, you should read the full guide to Package files first: Sims 3:Installing Package Fileswiki, so you can make sure your game is fully patched and you have the correct Resource.cfg file.
2. Run the game, and find your content where the creator said it would be (build mode, buy mode, Create-a-Sim, etc.).

For Sims3Pack files:

1. Cut and paste it into your Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Downloads folder. If you do not have this folder yet, it is recommended that you open the game and then close it again so that this folder will be automatically created. Then you can place the .sims3pack into your Downloads folder.
2. Load the game's Launcher, and click on the Downloads tab. Find the item in the list and tick the box beside it. Then press the Install button below the list.
3. Wait for the installer to load, and it will install the content to the game. You will get a message letting you know when it's done.
4. Run the game, and find your content where the creator said it would be (build mode, buy mode, Create-a-Sim, etc.).

Extracting from RAR, ZIP, or 7z: You will need a special program for this. For Windows, we recommend 7-Zip and for Mac OSX, we recommend Keka. Both are free and safe to use.

I love this door and downloaded it immediately, unfortunetly it doesn't show up in my game.I installed it the same way I do all my other downloads, all of which show up, but this one doesnt. I tried downloading and installing it again, thinking that maybe somehow I messed up in installing it, but when I went to install it it says that it's already there.

*What* says that? Are you using the Install Helper Monkey? That should install it properly I guess. I have no idea what could go wrong.
Are you really sure it doesn't show up? It should appear next to the "Mags' Door" (Build Mode/Doors), with an ugly gray metallic texture.

Not sure if this is opportune to post, but I made a fix for the missing light; it's available here.

Default Nice work
This is cool.. Its the closes thing to what I been hunting the web for. I was wondering can this be made with a round arch like curve at the top instead of a square? Like taking the long Colonial window and making it into a door. or just taking the top shape of the Colonial window and adding it to your door?

P.S. please dont think me rude for asking I just really would like a door such as this but I have not seen it anywhere and I was not sure It could be done.

I like this door, except for one thing; the texturing. If I want my doorframe white, but the color of the door red, this doesn't work out so well. Or if I want the interior to be one color, but the exterior another, this also doesn't work. The first channel recolors one side of the frame and the horizontal slats, while the fourth channel recolors one side of the door and the vertical slats. EA's doors with 4 channels works slightly differently: 2 channels color the frame, 2 color the door, including any slats. (I took a picture to explain a little better). I used the same color and same areas of the door to show what I mean. I think the channels for each side of the interior part of the door should color that side of the slats as well. I don't mind using the door if I want one that is all the same color inside and out, but otherwise I have to go without it, which makes me sad because it really is lovely.

Does this door suffer from the windows-crash-the-game issue from updating to 1.17?
