Wow, this is simply amazing! I add it to my favourites even though I don't have BV.
PS: You should add the "surf on empty bookshelf" as a bonus.

ohh-wow-wow-wow, thanks for creating, but I have probs to play this mod.
Everything is in downloadsfolder, testing in an empty game, when I click at the active sim I can't find anything like "surf", just the normal German pie menu.
Tested it in an own made beach lot and in Twikki Island maxis beach lot.
What I am doing wrong?

Very cool! I shall try it out immediately and let you know if I have any issues :-) Awesome idea! I never even thought it would be possible to add surfing into the game, but now that you have I am very excited to try it out! Thanks for sharing! :-D

I was not expecting this many comments when I came back! Thank you for the kind words, everyone.

cheshirekat: I don't suppose a wooden recolor of the surfboard would work? Even then it may still be a stretch for medieval times. *shrugs*

MAB-2000: Surfers who Wipe Out intentionally return to the shore for a number of reasons. One of the most important reasons is the way the interaction must manage all that is happening "behind the scenes" which you cannot see. The interaction must do some preparation before it can start and it must do some things when the interaction is concluded. (This is related to my decision to disallow the "Surf" pie menu option from appearing while the Sim is currently swimming.) TS2 does not have moodlets. But if it did, I would say that the surfer would get an "Embarrassed" moodlet for the Wipe Out. They leave the ocean out of shame. I could not make them wash ashore as if swept up by the current, so instead they swim back. When I have more time, I can look again to see if there is anything I can do and how it might alter everything else. (This kind of change would likely involve more time than simply adjusting probabilities or fixing minor bugs.) Another important reason for surfers to leave the ocean after a Wipe Out is to provide an exit for non-selectable Sims to quit surfing. Otherwise, they would continue surfing until their motives became too low, which might take longer than you would like. I don't know why you are having trouble opening the surfboard with SimPE. I do not have any trouble opening it.

15pupmaus49: Does your Sim have a surfboard in their inventory? Are they a Servo? Are they Teen or older? Are they in the "showing" stages of pregnancy? Are they in a pool or already in the ocean? (The pie menu option does not appear if the Sim is currently swimming for technical/logistical reasons.)

layla1717: I suppose keep trying? Sometimes MTS has busy periods which put more strain on the servers.

Thanks again for all of the kind words, everyone. :lovestruc

I don't mind if you call me "MSD" or something for short.

Wow, I'm super impressed. Even if everything isn't perfect, the fact that you put in a new animation in the game that should have there in the first place is super cool. Thank you so much!

WOW! This is too awesome for words! Custom anims and everything! I got my hunk, Garmin, here surfin' for the first time! It's obvious he needs more practice tho, since he fell off his board only 2 seconds later. Will he be a pro if he builds his body skill?

This is so freakin' awesome, thanks again!

SparkleSim: Yes, the greater the Body Skill, the less frequently a Wipe Out occurs. *Is excited to see others' Sims surfing*

ETA: The Wipe Out probabilities are in spoiler tags for anyone who wants to know what the chances are. These chances can be edited in the BCONs. For example: if there was "X%" chance for a particular skill level and you want it to be "Y%", then change the Value on the line with the "X%" label to reflect the desired probability for that skill level. (Hint: You can refer to the Line number in the BCON for what skill level 0-10 goes with what probability.)

I don't mind if you call me "MSD" or something for short.

WOW.
This must have taken SO much work! I have to try it out. I play a fantasy/medivalish neighbourhood, but Terry Pratchett's Discworld has had Rock'n'Roll and football, so why not surfing?
