Is there anything I can do?

(I really like this object, this problem just makes me mad.)

I think this is not a problem of our coathook.
Please, try to delete the coathook from your Dowloads folder.
Then start the game and look at if the orginal maxis' dressers have the option.

That's a REALLY wonderful ccreation, because my game seems to be bugged in that place, I don't have the option to buy nor plan outerwear (please don't suggest to reinstall, it's not even a real problem).
Thanks again!

This was the first hack that I ever liked enough to try. But it made one of my lots impossible to get to; it would just keep loading without getting anywhere, until I had to force the game to stop. I took the hack out of the downloads folder and have tried to get into that lot, but it's still the same every time. Before I delete the whole lot, which makes me very sad, has anyone else experienced this?

No! Don't delete the lot!
Instead, read HERE: create an error log and post it here; I will hopefully help you understanding what is causing this endless loading.

Numenor - Thank you so much for your help. I went in and got the error log. After resetting the error I was able to go to the lot. I'll send you the log information in a pm.

I really love this, by far one of the most useful things I've downloaded in the game and think you are brilliant for making this!

I've been using this extensivly now for a couple days, in many lots. I have all EP'a and SP's. No problems at all. (hope I don't jinx me). This is an awesome object. Exactly what I was looking for. It even works with Windkeepers Uni Clothing Mod and the (oh sorry can't remember the creator) Mods that show the Maxis clothing from other EPS as outerwear. I love the fact you guys did it as a wall item so you can place it on the main floor and have it go well. Don't really know how it could be better.
You guys ROCK! Thanks!

I could be wrong but I think maybe the lack of plan outfit and change into outerwear is happening with Sims created before the EP was installed. I have this problem and it hasn't gone away taking the coat-hook out, but Sims from the new families that came with the EP seem to be able to change into their outerwear Ok.

I guess maybe its a Maxian bug!

Edit. No, the new-with-seasons families aren't working for me either, I think I may have assumed this erroneously thinking one of them came with a choice of outerwear, just re-checked the family and she didn't. Currently I'm finding that although they seem to be able to use the coat-hook to buy, the items aren't winding up in the dresser - there's no plan option available. I guess I'll have to create new Sims for each photo and just wait for winter and have them walk outside and hope they change for me

I have to say that one feature I particularly liked about the big green dresser is the fact Sims didn't need to walk up to it to use it, they would just change where ever they happened to be when the test outfit came up in the queue. I notice this isn't something you've incorporated into the coat-hook, it would be a great addition if you decide to do any updating to it! Its very handy for photos as you can leave them in the right place for the 'photoshoot' without having them wander off to change or moving the dresser out of shot in buy mode.

I had the PregandServoChangeAppearencePack hack from Squinge and I deleted it and now everything works fine. My apologies for not testing this first. But now I can fully enjoy your beautyful creation. JOY

This is fantastic! I have a quick question. I will try it and find out by testing but... I use christianluv's shop at home rack to remake- looks and clothing all my townies, downtownies, etc but it dosen't include outerwear. Can this one be used on those other sims when you select them (with insim?) Thanks for this!

I've examined again the code for the "Plan outfit" (the coat hook uses the standard Maxis code for this function); it states some conditions, for the interaction to appear in the menu:
- The lot must be residential (if it's a shop on a community lot, only the shop owner can plan outfit)
- The sim must not be a Servo
- If the sim is a pregnant female, she must be at most in the first trimester (i.e. pregnancy not showing, yet)
- The interacting sim must have some additional outerwear in his inventory (he must have bought some outerwear) -> the check for additional outerwear is hard-coded in the game, it's not a BHAV, so can't be modified: if the check returns negative, even if the sim *has* spare outerwear, it's a Maxian bug.

Note: the analysis above is based on the code from Seasons: older games use a different code, but since we are talking about outerwear, this analysis should be accurate.

The problem might then reside in the "Buy Clothings" code, and not in the Plan Outfit. We have to keep in mind that the "buy clothings" code has been designed to work on community lots, then the new clothings are added to the family inventory, and made available as soon as the sims go back home.

Please run this test (whose scope is to force the game to "register" the new clothings bought with the Coat Hook):
- Be sure to have a Maxis dresser or armoire somewhere on the lot (just to be sure)
- Buy some outerwear using the Coat Hook
- If the "Plan Outfit / Outerwear doesn't show up, call a taxi and bring the family to a community lot, and then go back home.

If this makes the "Plan Outfit / Outerwear" option appear, then it means that the problem is in the way the game "acknowledges" the new clothings.

As for the sims forced to walk to the dresser, actually is something that I have purposely added to the code: the original Maxis code (used by the green dresser) didn't have such an animation. I guess it's a matter of personal tastes: I didn't like how the sims could buy clothes without even walking to the green dresser (I had to move the camera to the dresser, in order to click on it, and I couldn't see the sim any more: I didn't like that).
