This is a new mesh, and means that it's a brand new self contained object that usually does not require a specific Expansion pack (although this is possible depending on the type). It may have Recolours hosted on MTS - check below the description for more information.
This is a featured upload! It showcases the best talent and creativity available on MTS and in the community.
NOTICE: I believe that with the assistance of Lethe_s this object has NOW BEEN FIXED. (Thanks once again Lethe_s)

**If you have the previous buggy object you MUST delete it from your downloads before replacing with the new fixed version**

Calidan_Audio_BardTrioV02.package **DELETE THIS**

REQUEST: If you download - or redownload this object, could you please leave feedback confirming that this object now works for you (If you are so inclined) or if you still experience problems - Thanks.

I have tested this object in TS2 (orig) and UNI EP and it now functions fine in both and while I am fairly certain it should work fine now with all EPs, if someone with NL could test and post their result it would be appreciated.

Greetings and welcome once more to Calidan's fantasy workshop.

Presenting for your enjoyment and medieval/fantasy pleasure the enchanted bard trio. Carved from sacred wood and charmed with magical essence, this hand carved trio brings their musical skills and abilities into any castle or court.

Designed with the same goals as my crystal ball and television, this replacement to the 'modern' stereo is perfectly at home in any medieval or fantasy setting.

Model Info:
Faces: 3782
Vertices: 2191
Two tile placement

Zip Contents:
Calidan_Audio_BardTrioV02b.package **FIXED VERSION**

Simply copy into your Downloads and enjoy

Catelog Location:
Electronics->Audio - Slightly more expensive than the large stereo.

Additional Info:
Features animated strings on the mandolin when in operation (you have to get rather close to see it though). I have not modified or tested this object regarding 'repair', so it could break just like any other stereo and I have not made it recolorable - so sorry all you are stuck with my wood textures

I created the bards using milkshape, based on my own artists model/figure.

EDIT: Thanks to Little_Tx_Mama for all the help and pointers on poly reduction etc. THIS is the final result of what I've been working on

All my objects use unique GUIDs

Well at first I wasn't sure if I should comment on this, as I must admit you had me rather confused as to your meaning. With that said all I can say is ..

'Thank You' I'm glad you gained some enjoyment from it.

Regardless of if you 'enjoy' it in the game, or just find it amusing and it gives you a laugh then it was a success in my opinion

'THE MOVIE' pc game? I have never heard of such a thing until just now *wanders off to google* hmm - can't find anything there, can you provide a link?

This is an original creation (well at least as far as I knew) as I decided on the concept and talk about it with wife for several days before starting the project.

or to put it more accurately, I got tired of her complaining that there was no 'stereo' item she could put into her Medieval Neighborhood

Anyway I glad you like it all the same thanks.

Yes it was sad about the crashes caused by the first version. Since the fixed version posted 19/12 I have yet not heard any reports of it crashing. If you are experiencing problems, please re-read the original post and make sure you have removed the old version.

This is really neat! I'm just wondering how you came up with the idea?! I've never seen or thought of anything like this. Great job! Happy Holidays to everyone as well, whatever it is you're celebrating! :baloons:

Well as stated in my last post, my wife plays and is building a nice medieval neighborhood. Often I hear her complaining that 'this doesnt suit' or 'that doesnt look right' in the setting of her lots etc. so it got me thinking about what was used to provide music in that era. Easy - bards or other muso's.

Now, creating 'real' looking musicians was just out of the question (not that you couldn't do it but we have the sims themselves for the 'real' part) and while browsing the catalog I noticed the statue maniquinn. As I actually have one of those I dug it out and decided to use it to model the bards from, as the one ingame is rather small and very distorted (mesh wise).

I decided on a trio primarily to keep the package size down, and it fit nice with the 2 tile placement of the original stereo, and rather than just have them stand there static I decided to add some 'life' into them in their instrument use and pose - the above package is the result.

End of Design History Lesson for today
