Picked Upload! This is a picked upload! It showcases some of the best talent and creativity available on MTS and in the community.
I started making this career about a month ago with the help of my husband who has been in the Army for 13 years. I was going to quit working on it when I saw the same career posted just a few days ago, but decided to go ahead with mine when I realized the other was just the regular sim military career with a few minor changes.

This career is complete with real job descriptions (sample below) of each rank along with CUSTOM CHANCE CARDS for EVERY level (sample below). My husband helped me with each chance card to get it as real as possible for the sim’s rank.

This career also contains the Real job titles of Enlisted Soldiers. The only exceptions are the ones of the same rank that I didn’t use (not used: E4 Corporal, E8 Master Sergeant and E9 Command Sergeant Major).

Level One $380 E1: Private (PVT)
Level Two $450 E2: Private (PV2)
Level Three $485 E3: Private First Class (PFC)
Level Four $540 E4: Specialist (SPC)
Level Five $670 E5: Sergeant (SGT)
Level Six $870 E6: Staff Sergeant (SSG)
Level Seven $1110 E7: Sergeant First Class (SFC)
Level Eight $1375 E8: First Sergeant (1SG)
Level Nine $1745 E9: Sergeant Major (SGM)
Level Ten $2105 Command Sergeant Major of the Army (SMA)

The Pay is based on an actual monthly base pay then divided by 3., although, actual base pay depends on the number of years one has been serving as well as rank, so the Sim Base pay is different than an actual soldiers.

All Level hours are Mon.-Fri. 7am-5pm because most places we have been they start PT (Physical Training) at 7 am, then formation before being released for the day typically falls around 5pm. Although , if you are related to or know someone in the Army, getting released at 5pm is always a dream.

All skills have been applied to this career as well and a sim will have to accomplish the following to reach the top of this career.

Cooking 2
Mechanical 10
Charisma 8
Body 10
Creativity 5
Logic 10
Cleaning 5

Friends 10

It is a tough career for your sims, but I tried to make it realistic.

*EP Ready *Uses military career icon *has been tested in 2 separate games on 2 computers
*DOES NOT overwrite any existing games . *No custom clothing or cars (all Maxis stuff)

If you are interested I do have a base game only version if this doesn‘t work in base game, just PM or leave comment and I will post as well.

Please be gentle, this is my 1st career. Hope you like it and enjoy.

Have a Great Day and Thanks for looking!!!

I was looking for a military career like you suggested where they have to leave for awhile. Just randomly too, because if I plan it, it's different than when it's out of the blue. Maybe you could add a different version?

I know that would be interesting to have that on the game, and I did experiment with that while making the career. But you can't do it. The way careers are set up, Sims have to come home for 1 or 2 hours within a 24 hour day. It is based on a day to day and 24 hours. The only thing I could suggest is, have the one that you want to deploy move out like I do in my game. That way they talk on the phone, they come home for R&R (invite them over). I just go back and forth on my game. Sorry I couldn't do more though.

I will play my sims today, then clean my house tomorrow...

Awesome, awesome, awesome! I've been in the Army for 5 years (I'm only an E4 though) and this is very realistic. I'm about to head out on my second deployment myself, and it's really fun to indulge in a Sim game, especially when you have a career like this to play!

Thank you!

Thanks for this great career senesi2003! My fiance got out of the army after his second deployment to Iraq (less than a year ago). 7 to 5 would be dreaming LOL! He was gone from 4am to 6pm.

My husband is now on his 3rd deployment so I don't blame you for getting out. We only have 5 more years left until he can retire so we are sticking with it. Just have to pray for him daily. I know 7-5 is dreaming, but I thought anymore would be hard on our little simmies. Take care.

Thank you John1946 for stating that. And thank you Nissanshift for serving in the army. As far as the ranks go, yura_yura1, The rank system came straight from my husband a SFC who has been serving for the past 15 years. He is the one the helped me. As far as trainee goes, that isn't a rank at all, it does start with private (E1) but with no insignia. E2 is also a Private (PV2) and that is the rank you get your first insignia on your uniform. Private First Class you got right too. E4 is either a specialist (SPC) or corporal. I know this one well, my husband was just a SPC when we met. The SGT (E5), SSG (56), and SFC (E7) is correct too. As far as E8 goes you are either a Master SGT (MSG)or First SGT (1SG) depending what your asked to do. And E9 is the highest it goes for the enlisted. Which starts at Sgt Major, but can go up to Command Sgt Major of the Army. As far as Lieutenant go that is the 1st ranks of an Officer. Now an enlisted soldier can do the Green to Gold program to become an officer, but I didn't include that, I only did the enlisted Side of the Army and my ranks are correct, but thanks for looking. And I did not think it was mean for one minute. Hope you all have a great day, and sorry for the delayed comments.

Great job on this! The times are wrong as far as PT and formations. PT usually starts at 0630 and formation is usually at 1630 so that you would be released at 1700. The higher up in rank you go though the later you are inclined to have to be at work so I think you should have probably changed the work times for E-5 to E-9.

I really like it. It's cool and realistic. I just wanted to let you know that in the top career, when you choose your reward, It says it gives you $10,000 but it gives you 10 million instead.

I wish this could overwrite the Maxis base military career! lol
I will def have to download this, thank you so much for this. I was just thinking why there were no realistic careers in the game and I knew I couldn't make one so finding this is amazing!
I have to agree with the deployment chance cards too, because those always come up in real life with such short notice, but this is amazing the way it is.
