This is a new mesh, and means that it's a brand new self contained object that usually does not require a specific Expansion pack (although this is possible depending on the type). It may have Recolours hosted on MTS - check below the description for more information.
This is a featured upload! It showcases the best talent and creativity available on MTS and in the community.
This download is part of the Stuff for Kids Creator Challenge
After spending the last month racking my brains to try and think of an entry for the kids challenge I came up with this - an additional toy to complement the dolls house. This is a toy garage for little boy sims (and tomboy little girl sims) to play with.

In the dolls house children play with little dolls - these dolls are coded into the object so I made an alternative set of toy cars. Unfortunately, I had to use the existing animations so the animations of the sims holding the cars is not a perfect match; but better than using dolls in a garage, right?

The toddler animations came out ok - the toddler puts the car in their mouth and shakes their head etc just like the doll house

The garage functions ALMOST exactly the same as the doll house - adults, elders and teens can join the children in play, but do not start playing with the garage on their own, the difference is that children and toddlers build mechanical skill when playing with it.. Teens and older do not build skill as that would be silly, but their fun increases just like the dolls house.

The garage can be found in the catalogue with the rest of the toys and costs 120 simoleons (it costs less than the doll house because a Sim dad made it out of bits of wood so it is cheaper )

If you use the garage in a lot
Please be sure that you package the garage and the little cars and give DL'ers a link to this thread just in case

Additional Credits:
Maylin- for the incredible texture she made for me - it made such a difference to the object I class her as a co-creator on this object. Thank you again, it is kindnesses to others like this which makes MTS2 such an amazing place to be.

Echo for writing the BHAV tutorials and then checking my BHAV and telling me which line I had missed - Thank you SimPE of course, and MTS2 for giving me a place to share my stuff.

UPDATE 2014 : The garage now shows on community lots and can be placed on OFB shelves.

I've been using this for some time now, and not only did I have to thank you (albeit a little late ... sorry!), I voted for this in the poll. Thanks to this, my kids can work on some mechanical points while playing with something they find quite enjoyable. Thank you!

Finally, my sim boys will no longer be teased for being girly and playing with their sister's dollhouse. Great work.

I am so glad that I could help! Your garage is wonderful,

I'm also sorry that MTS2 had this unfortunate event occur. I'll bet poor Delphy has worked countless hours to get this fixed and hope that I can help with other's files as well. This is a great community and I think if we all pitch in we can hopefully turn the event into just an unpleasant memory.

whoa. this is PERFECT! I know all my sims will adore it, including the girls. Yaysies!

When a girl has become one with her pony, she feels ultimate togetherness and love. The pony, on the other hand, just wants her messy bran slop and to go back to her warm, comfy stall for the rest of her life. Things such as this are different as you would think it to be.

Great idea and I like the execution, especially that you even changed the dolls! I always get all happy about little details like that. I think as soon as I figure out how to recolor objects I'll try to give this a castle look so my medieval kids have something to play with.

This works so wonderfully in my game. I love that the kids get Mechanical skills, cause there aren't enough ways to get Mechanical skills. It is also great that toddlers and kids can play together because that way the kids will have good relationships with their siblings. Seriously, one of my favorite recent downloads. Thanks so much! I wish there were more toys like this.

Thank you for the kind comment - I have linked to other cool skill building toys in the related links tab, but I guess you really want more group activity toys. There is the activity table in FT if you have that EP.
