This is a Maxis Recolour which means that it is a recolour of an item that already exists in your game. Please check the Expansion pack requirements to see which game pack it recolours.
Picked Upload! This is a picked upload! It showcases some of the best talent and creativity available on MTS and in the community.
Late Night (and accompanying patch) introduced the ability to move pictures up and down on walls. However, many of us were frustrated to discover that this didn't work on curtains. Well, now it does!

With this default replacement mod for EA curtains, you can now use any curtain for any height window. You'll get a lot more use from basic drapes.

The download includes three files: one each for base game, Ambitions, and Late Night curtains. Download just the packages you need for the EPs you have. Even modifies curtains you've already hung... after installation, they'll be height-adjustable.

Will not modify custom or store curtains.

For those new curtains that game with Generations, see this link. Thanks Armiel!

Possible Conflicts:
This mod updates the OBJD resources for each of the curtains. It will conflict with any other mod that changes the OBJD.

Known to conflict: Curtains! Stop Snapping to that Wall!!

Don't forget to Thank the creator after downloading! Use the Thanks button located above the screenshots above.
Quick Guide:

1. Click the file listed on the Files tab to download the file to your computer.
2. Extract the zip, rar, or 7z file. Now you will have either a .package or a .sims3pack file.

For Package files:

1. Cut and paste the file into your Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Mods\Packages folder. If you do not already have this folder, you should read the full guide to Package files first: Sims 3:Installing Package Fileswiki, so you can make sure your game is fully patched and you have the correct Resource.cfg file.
2. Run the game, and find your content where the creator said it would be (build mode, buy mode, Create-a-Sim, etc.).

For Sims3Pack files:

1. Cut and paste it into your Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Downloads folder. If you do not have this folder yet, it is recommended that you open the game and then close it again so that this folder will be automatically created. Then you can place the .sims3pack into your Downloads folder.
2. Load the game's Launcher, and click on the Downloads tab. Find the item in the list and tick the box beside it. Then press the Install button below the list.
3. Wait for the installer to load, and it will install the content to the game. You will get a message letting you know when it's done.
4. Run the game, and find your content where the creator said it would be (build mode, buy mode, Create-a-Sim, etc.).

Extracting from RAR, ZIP, or 7z: You will need a special program for this. For Windows, we recommend 7-Zip and for Mac OSX, we recommend Keka. Both are free and safe to use.

firstly thank you very much for this amaizing mod but I have 1 question. By creating lots with this mod, will dld'rs have to have this mod installed for this to work as well? Or will the curtains stay in place once dldd?

The curtains should stay in place when they get saved in a lot, even if the mod is removed.

The only potential gotcha is that if you try to move the curtains with-out the mod, they will probably jump back to the default height.

First of all...thank you so much for this mod All the curtains are now working as height adjustable but I am having a bit of a problem with putting curtains on a diagonal wall. They will only sit to the left or right of the centre, I can't seem to make them sit in the middle any more I'm almost certain that I don't have any mods which mess with anything to do with the curtains.

These work with Generations?

22 I will give him the key to the house of David. When he opens doors, no one will be able to close them; when he closes doors, no one will be able to open them.

I have had several people report that they appear to be working fine with both just the patch and with the Pets EP

Will this be updated for ALL curtains? I'm not sure how these mods work, so maybe a stupid question, but would be awesome if this worked with everything including custom.

jad0446 -- nope, not a stupid question, but they do not work for all curtains... has to be done on a curtain-by-curtain basis. Armiel has a set for Generations curtains. Some CC curtain makes have incorporated this feature into their curtains, but not all of them; it's a reasonable request if you use a lot of CC curtains though

I stopped playing Sims 3 for a while but now am getting into it. Decided to pick up useful mods and nice CC before I really delve into this world e.e

AND I REMEMBER HOW ANNOYING THE DAMNED CURTAINS WERE!
This is so great thank you <3 Now I will actually bother with curtains because they will always fit

Is it broken? The changes to make this item shouldn't be sensitive to what patch that the game is running...

I'll download and test to be sure... More to follow..

Well... It is working with Seasons, BUT...

The curtians on the diagonal wall don't snap properly. I also have Armiel's Generations curtains but the issue doesn't show up there. Only with your replacements. Any advice perhaps?

PS. But still superb work. You have no idea how much easier my house decorating now is!

Is there a chance to get something similar for the Supernatural curtains?
It doesn't work with them. Or did I just not see the right link?
