Do you want to get rid of those Maxis families which always appear in your neighborhood's bin?
And you don't want to delete them because this corrupts your neighorbood?

Then this is something for you!
These stealth hoods don't contain any annoying universal families and NPCs...

I used Numenor's AnyGameStarter to create empty neighborhoods using an empty Anygame with no Maxis content.
I copied everything over with Mootilda's HoodReplace and if necessary, I copied the lots from the Maxis stealth hood into my stealth hood. (only Hobbies and Magic)

I had to copy the hobby lots and the witch lots because every neighborhood needs them.
That's why EA created a stealth hood for them but they filled it with unnecessary sims...

These stealth 'hoods have been thoroughly checked with Mootilda's HoodChecker and no errors have been found.
You also don't need all 5 expansion packs for 1 stealth hood.

The "Pets" stealth hood only requires The Sims 2 Pets
The "Weather" stealth hood only requires The Sims 2 Seasons
The "Exotic Destinations" stealth hood only requires The Sims 2 Bon Voyage
The "Hobbies" stealth hood only requires The Sims 2 Free Time
The "Magic" stealth hood only requires The Sims 2 Apartment Life

If you have all expansion packs, then you can download all 5 stealth hoods.

Before downloading,
Make sure you make a backup of your existing template first.
You may want the stealth families or NPCs back.

Note: These templates will ONLY affect new neighborhoods or neighborhoods that haven't been loaded yet. In short, neighborhoods that don't already have the original stealth hoods installed. Meaning, if you saw loading screens like "Create Pets"; "Create Weather"..., then these templates will not change anything but future neighborhoods!

To install them, put them to your install location...
By default, it is C:\Program Files\EA GAMES
If you have Sims 2 Ultimate Collection, it is C:\Program Files\Origin Games\The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection

Pets Stealth Hood (Pets)
Install instructions: Put the P001 folder in C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 Pets\TSData\Res\NeighborhoodTemplate
If you have The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection: C:\Program Files\Origin Games\The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection\Fun with Pets\EP4\TSData\Res\NeighborhoodTemplate

Seasons Stealth Hood (Weather)
Install instructions: Put the G002 folder in C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 Seasons\TSData\Res\NeighborhoodTemplate
If you have The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection: C:\Program Files\Origin Games\The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection\Seasons\TSData\Res\NeighborhoodTemplate

Bon Voyage Stealth Hood (Exotic Destinations)
Install instructions: Put the V001 folder in C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 Bon Voyage\TSData\Res\NeighborhoodTemplate
If you have The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection: C:\Program Files\Origin Games\The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection\Bon Voyage\TSData\Res\NeighborhoodTemplate

Free Time Stealth Hood (Hobbies)
Install instructions: Put the F002 folder in in your C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 Free Time\TSData\Res\NeighborhoodTemplate
If you have The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection: C:\Program Files\Origin Games\The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection\Free Time\TSData\Res\NeighborhoodTemplate

Apartment Life Stealth Hood (Magic)
Install instructions: Put the E002 in your C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 Apartment Life\TSData\Res\NeighborhoodTemplate
If you have The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection: C:\Program Files\Origin Games\The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection\Apartment Life\TSData\Res\NeighborhoodTemplate

Update: 15th January 2019
For those who use Windows 10 and have difficulties with getting these templates to work.
If you see that the default sims still appear in your neighborhoods despite of installing these empty templates, please try the following.

Apparently, Windows 10 stores the default templates somewhere, which is why, the game still adds the characters to the neighborhoods.

In order to fix this, go to C:\Users\Your Username\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES
and install my templates there as well, just like in the normal Program Files. Thank you, somedaythesun for reporting this issue!

If you are confused, which file you should download...
Here's a better view of it:

- P001 is the stealth hood which came with The Sims 2 Pets
- G002 is the stealth hood which came with The Sims 2 Seasons
- V001 is the stealth hood which came with The Sims 2 Bon Voyage
- F002 is the stealth hood which came with The Sims 2 Free Time
- E002 is the stealth hood which came with The Sims 2 Apartment Life

Additional Credits:
Thanks to:
- Numenor for the AnyGameStarter - without him, I had to deinstall all of my EPs and I wasn't able to create an empty neighborhood
- Mootilda for her HoodReplace and Hood Checker - without her, I wouldn't be able to do anything. Changing 'hood's ID to stealth, copy everything from one neighborhood to another and checking for issues...
She was the most helpful one here. Thank you very much!

No, this won't make the Tricou downtownies re-spawn again. Download an empty Downtown template here. This will stop the game from adding downtownies to your neighborhoods once you create a custom downtown in-game.

The game might create NEW downtownies as you play!
However, if you don't want that and want to have an empty custom downtown, download the mods listed here

Just so I can make sure I understand... This will still allow the game to generate NPCs and downtownies when necessary, right? I just want my new custom hoods to be corruption-free and not make the same NPCs as I usually get.

Before I upload, I just want to confirm that the files go as indicated in the attached screenshot (Mac user so I am not 100% sure)? There is nothing there that should be overwritten? That's under the general TSData however there is also the specific TSData for each of the expansion packs included in the Super Collection (see second screenshot). Now that I think of it.. Perhaps that's where the files should go right?

I have The Sims 2 Super Collection for Mac and noticed that there was no guide on how to install this. In case any other Mac users want to add these:
Go to 'Applications', right click 'The Sims 2™: Super Collection', and select 'Show Package Contents'.
Then select Contents > Assets > Expansion Packs.

Put the P001 folder in: Pets > TSData > Res > NeighborhoodTemplate.
Put the G002 folder in: Seasons > TSData > Res > NeighborhoodTemplate.
Put the V001 folder in: Bon Voyage > TSData > Res > NeighborhoodTemplate.

Hopefully others find this useful, I just added these to my game and created a new neighbourhood and none of the premade bin families spawned. Highly recommend backing up your files prior to doing this though.

The latest-and-greatest version of SimPE (0.75.69, non-T&A) has exposed a couple of very deeply buried Sims who I am told are in the hidden files of every neighborhood. They are Caryl Gray and Cheryl Miller, Elders, 0 days left but NOT Deceased, NOT in any of the regular houses (they're in what previous SimPE versions called "Default" and .69 calls "No Family"). They have no relationships, no careers, no skills, no assigned purpose, no wants/fears, no nothing.

You might want to check this out.

Hey, I was wondering. This is kind of what I wanted but there is an issue. I wanted the family's gone but only from my main game neighborhoods and I wanted to add the bin family's to one custom neighborhood. But now there gone from everything, even custom neighborhoods. Is there any where I can get just their bin files for one neighborhood so I can put them in it?

If you don't want the stealth hood bin families in every neighborhood, but are OK with them being in some neighborhoods, then you might want to check out these separated bin family subhoods by meetme2theriver

So I set everything up for my megahood, with all the subhood templates in place, including all of empty stealth hoods, but the families generated in the family bin anyway, and the subhoods I wanted didn't show up. I read about the virtual store problem, and found that my virtual store data somehow only has Fun with Pets, University Life, and Bon Voyage, each with only one lot data file in those folders, and yet the subhood templates still don't work. What do I do?

@Smefanye
Are there any files in the Characters folder inside your neighborhood templates? If yes, then try deleting the whole subhood template, redownload and place fresh new copies again. Do NOT merge the existing neighborhood files with mine. Instead, completely remove them first and THEN, install the empty templates.

If this still doesn't work, try completely deleting the NeighborhoodTemplate folder and let me know if the game still adds the stealth hood families or not. I hope that works for you.

Also note that if you loaded a neighborhood before installing these templates, they will not work for that neighborhood. It will only work for future neighborhoods!

Hi! So I just installed the templates and when I create a new neighborhood I'm getting the Kat and Kim families in the occupied lots bin. I doublechecked the P001 folder and the character folder there is empty and there's also nothing in my Virtual Store folder. I deleted and reinstalled the P001 folder then made another new neighborhood to check and they're still there. Is it safe to delete occupied lots in-game? It's not a huge issue, just wondering if I did something wrong. (I did read through the thread twice but if this was mentioned and I missed it, apologies.) Thank you!

@Akhna
The occupied lots bin is not related to the neighborhood templates and hence do not have to do with your neighborhood itself. So, you may place them in a throwaway neighborhood and delete that hood if you want to get rid of those. Alternatively, you could also delete the occupied lots from there. No problem since it's not part of the neighborhood (unless you decide to place it into the neighborhood)

@Sushi Jester please remove the original templates before putting in mine. Otherwise, it won't work. Just replacing the neighborhood files and deleting character files might not be enough and can possibly corrupt your neighborhood.
