So I have been spending my spare time over the past month or so creating all of the main characters from my favourite book series when I was a kid, The Chronicles of Prydain by Lloyd Alexander. I made them the way I picture them in my head, and I am quite pleased with the way everything has turned out, particularly Fflewdder and Rhun. Note that I didn't make Doli or Gurgi for rather obvious reasons. But I did make a whole slew of people, and they all come with custom clothes except for Dallben, Coll, and Achren. Not because I got too lazy, but because other people had already made stuff that I thought went right with them.

Everything I've made is very detailed, with stuff like dirt and patches and lacing and such. I had a lot of fun making all of them.

Custom content and descriptions from the books (with parenthetical citations because I'm insane and can't help myself):

"Her long hair glittered silver in the torchlight. Her face was young and beautiful; her pale skin seemed paler still above her crimson robe. Jeweled necklaces hung at her throat, gem-studded bracelets circled her wrists, and heavy rings threw back the flickering torches." (The Book of Three, p.59)

"Adaon, Taran saw, was tall, with straight black hair that fell to his shoulders. Though of noble bearing, he wore the garb of an ordinary warrior, with no ornament save a curiously shaped iron brooch at his collar. His eyes were gray, strangely deep, clear as a flame, and Taran sensed that little was hidden from Adaon's thoughtful and searching glance." (The Black Cauldron, p.10)

Though of excellent quality, his garments had seen much wear, and his cloak was purposely draped to hide his threadbare attire. The cloak itself, Taran saw, had been neatly and painstakingly mended." "The stranger had the shaggy, gray-streaked hair of a wolf. His eyes were deep-set, flecked with green. Sun and wind had leathered his broad face, burnt it dark and grained it with fine lines. "A bellow of laughter resounded beyond the chamber, and in another moment a giant, red-headed warrior rolled in at the side of Adaon. He towered above all in the chamber and his beard falmed around a face so scarred with old wounds it was impossible to tell where one began and another ended. His nose had been battered to his cheekbones; his heavy forehead was nearly lost in a fierce tangle of eyebrows; and his neck seemed as thick as Taran's waist." (The Black Cauldron, p.13)

Taran of Caer Dallben
skin - nihilin's edit of louis' skin
hair - seomi
eyebrows - helaene
eyes - barcelonista
costume makeup - belle_ange_16

There never really is any description of him...

In the pictures of Adaon you can see Arianllyn, although since she is only mentioned once ever, I didn't include her. But here are some of the credits of her stuff in case you like her:
skin and eyes by - enayla
hair - XMSims hair 051
dress - matildarose

Enjoy! (Particularly because this was rather a nightmare to collect all the
information and especially to upload (it took hours!), what with all the making files smaller and resizing and cramming pictures together and the new upload system!) And please thank me because this was a lot of work (both the making and the uploading!)

**Please note that the mesh list is not at all complete because there was only room for five meshes. All of the meshes needed are credited properly in their respective places!

I don't know these books, but you've obviously put an enormous amount of work into these characters! It's really a lovingly-created set, which can go along with the original story (if you know it , or be used in a whole medieval neighborhood. Thanks!

Thanks so much for creating this set, I love the custom clothes! The Eilonwy I had in mind didn't look quite so mature though

I cannot express how great these are! It's always wonderful to find old literary friends made for the Sims, and these were some of my first and best (The High King was the first book I ever cried over ) Thank you so much for putting so much time, effort, and love into them.

These are really beautiful and I greatly respect the amount of work and time you've put into them.

Lloyd Alexander died recently, which makes this all the more poignant.

This is amazing! I see you put alot of work into these. To be entirely honest, I was worried that nothing would show up when I typed "Prydain" into the search bar. I'm really glad that something did. This is my favourite series of books of all time. No book has ever been quite as...I'm not quite sure how to describe it, but nothing has ever been so...that as any of them, nor have any fictional characters in anything been so easy for me to get attached to. The High King had me in tears...but alas, it was a fitting end to the series. I'd love to see a Horned King and possibly Gwythaints for the Pets expansion. Of course, you haven't been on in quite some time. I do hope that if you return, you see this. Thank you for posting this.
