Picked Upload! This is a picked upload! It showcases some of the best talent and creativity available on MTS and in the community.
I started making this career about a month ago with the help of my husband who has been in the Army for 13 years. I was going to quit working on it when I saw the same career posted just a few days ago, but decided to go ahead with mine when I realized the other was just the regular sim military career with a few minor changes.

This career is complete with real job descriptions (sample below) of each rank along with CUSTOM CHANCE CARDS for EVERY level (sample below). My husband helped me with each chance card to get it as real as possible for the sim’s rank.

This career also contains the Real job titles of Enlisted Soldiers. The only exceptions are the ones of the same rank that I didn’t use (not used: E4 Corporal, E8 Master Sergeant and E9 Command Sergeant Major).

Level One $380 E1: Private (PVT)
Level Two $450 E2: Private (PV2)
Level Three $485 E3: Private First Class (PFC)
Level Four $540 E4: Specialist (SPC)
Level Five $670 E5: Sergeant (SGT)
Level Six $870 E6: Staff Sergeant (SSG)
Level Seven $1110 E7: Sergeant First Class (SFC)
Level Eight $1375 E8: First Sergeant (1SG)
Level Nine $1745 E9: Sergeant Major (SGM)
Level Ten $2105 Command Sergeant Major of the Army (SMA)

The Pay is based on an actual monthly base pay then divided by 3., although, actual base pay depends on the number of years one has been serving as well as rank, so the Sim Base pay is different than an actual soldiers.

All Level hours are Mon.-Fri. 7am-5pm because most places we have been they start PT (Physical Training) at 7 am, then formation before being released for the day typically falls around 5pm. Although , if you are related to or know someone in the Army, getting released at 5pm is always a dream.

All skills have been applied to this career as well and a sim will have to accomplish the following to reach the top of this career.

Cooking 2
Mechanical 10
Charisma 8
Body 10
Creativity 5
Logic 10
Cleaning 5

Friends 10

It is a tough career for your sims, but I tried to make it realistic.

*EP Ready *Uses military career icon *has been tested in 2 separate games on 2 computers
*DOES NOT overwrite any existing games . *No custom clothing or cars (all Maxis stuff)

If you are interested I do have a base game only version if this doesn‘t work in base game, just PM or leave comment and I will post as well.

Please be gentle, this is my 1st career. Hope you like it and enjoy.

Have a Great Day and Thanks for looking!!!

My husband served in the Military as well. This career is very realistic and follows the reality of how the Army is set up. Thanks for the cool new career!

My cousin is in the army. He's lucky if he gets home at 8pm. Most of the time, he's working 12-15 hours at a time. He says he's happy though...the nut. :P

This is my first time ever posting and I've been a member on MTS2 for a while now. I just had to thank for this realistic Army career. My husband and I are both in the army(he's an E5 and I'm an E4) but the Maxis military career was too off track. Now our sim family can be more realistic.

Lol This is a great career but I do think the hours are a little short. My hubby is usually gone from 6 am until 6 pm at least. Plus there should be a sim deployment in there somewhere.

Thanks for this career, my husband served 8 years in the Navy and just recently switch over to the Army. I wonder if there is a way to do a deployable status where the spouse doesn't come home for a while??? My husband finally returns from Korea tomorrow after an 18 month seperation!!! WHOO HOO!!!

I understand completely about the hours, my husband is gone from 6a-8p almost everyday, but that is why I said 7a-5p (which is standard hours) is a dream!! As far as the deployment, the most they can be gone for is one day for 22 hours. Believe me I would have liked that if I could work that in. My suggestion there, is to play as if they are deployed and have them live seperately for about a week. Make a type of barracks for him (or her) to live in then have him to move back in, just play both lots to keep their age together.

Whttiger1025 I know how you feel with that Korea tour, my husband got orders to Korea just 2 months shy of our 1st year anniversary, plus we have dealt with 2 deployments to Iraq...So WHOO HOO is right, it is awesome when they walk back through that door

I will play my sims today, then clean my house tomorrow...

This is a great mod. Now all we need is some "on post housing." That could be really interesting. Thank you for the time and effort you put into this mod.

Now that they've come out with the vacation expansion, maybe our beloved in game spouses could "go on vacation" as a deployment. Of course, then it would be helpful to be able to custom make a "vacation" spot as well.

I'm getting the BV EP later on this week so I'm not sure if this could be done, but it would be interesting to see.

You can make a custom vacation spot so that would be a good idea.

Speaking of Vacation, this career is compatible with Bon Voyage. And actually, i had another thought. Since I have like 5 Military career tracks now including this one, I'm glad my sims have a choice. So thank you for making this.

Thank you for that great career.

I love it and its perfect. Speaking of deployment, why not that covering with a chance card? (E4 or E5)
Fail reduction of body skills, do to injury.
Pass increasing a logic and body skill.
For both chances some money that is covering BAH, Hardship, and Combat Money.

Any chance there are other Military Careers in the works? mybe if some of the people who play can help with the Chance Cards?

1. If you can't respect another's POV, you have no right to complain when he doesn't respect yours.
2. If you can't tell the difference between Real Life and a Game, seek professional help.

I am taking a break from creating right now. Just enjoying playing the game, but if anyone wants to help and send chance cards for a new career they want I will be more than happy to work with someone to create a career, Military or other. Thanks!
