Dreamtime Romance: Contacts to Come Hither By

Updated download! Fixed the issue where the contacts would switch to a costume mask when showering or bathing. Please re-download the new and improved -- with lanolin! -- file. Thanks!

This is a set of re-colorable contacts for all ages and genders that do not replace anything in game. They appear in the Looks/Makeup/Costume tab, and they will have their own thumbnail. You won't be able to miss them -- even if you're like me and are inundated with so much custom content you forget what's what.

Also, all three channels can be used to tint the contacts. There's a highlight tint, a slight tint around the pupil, and the main iris tint. Playing around with these three channels can result in an extensive range of colors and hues.

Though the contacts have a dreamy, romantic feel to them, I think they work well as an anime eye variation. But your mileage may vary.

Enjoy!

Don't forget to Thank the creator after downloading! Use the Thanks button located above the screenshots above.
Quick Guide:

1. Click the file listed on the Files tab to download the file to your computer.
2. Extract the zip, rar, or 7z file. Now you will have either a .package or a .sims3pack file.

For Package files:

1. Cut and paste the file into your Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Mods\Packages folder. If you do not already have this folder, you should read the full guide to Package files first: Sims 3:Installing Package Fileswiki, so you can make sure your game is fully patched and you have the correct Resource.cfg file.
2. Run the game, and find your content where the creator said it would be (build mode, buy mode, Create-a-Sim, etc.).

For Sims3Pack files:

1. Cut and paste it into your Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Downloads folder. If you do not have this folder yet, it is recommended that you open the game and then close it again so that this folder will be automatically created. Then you can place the .sims3pack into your Downloads folder.
2. Load the game's Launcher, and click on the Downloads tab. Find the item in the list and tick the box beside it. Then press the Install button below the list.
3. Wait for the installer to load, and it will install the content to the game. You will get a message letting you know when it's done.
4. Run the game, and find your content where the creator said it would be (build mode, buy mode, Create-a-Sim, etc.).

Extracting from RAR, ZIP, or 7z: You will need a special program for this. For Windows, we recommend 7-Zip and for Mac OSX, we recommend Keka. Both are free and safe to use.

Oh, this is wonderful! I don't normally comment on things, but I had to on these because I've been waiting for something just like them ever since the game came out, but I could never make them myself. Thanks so much for these!

Neat-o. I usually don't do the colored contacts thing but these are so different and other worldly that I am compelled to try them out. They look fantastic but not disturbingly so. Outstanding work!

Whoa those are some huge eyes. Defiantly feel like anime eyes. I haven't gotten into making my "Alternate" (aliens, faeries, cat ppl, Anime) characters... yet. But I will hold onto these. They are really well done. I like them a lot. Thank you for sharing~

Aw, thanks. :} I'm more than happy to share them, though I'm not sure they're unique enough for Mod the Sims guidelines. I could certainly upload them to the exchange and list all the custom content links for them in my blog on the sims 3 site. Let me think how best to do that, and I'll post back here in a day or two. Trust me, I'm really flattered by your interest in them. :}

I can certainly work them up as defaults and see how they look. It may take a few days, as I'm also working on converting my other default eye sets to contacts per another request.

I'm really glad you like them. :}

... I can't believe it! This is exactly what Elf Eyes would have looked like in the story my best friend and I are writing! Now I can create the characters once someone figures out how to make elf ears! Thank you so much!

The Bad News: These make horrible default replacement eyes. There's a marked difference in how default eyes and "contacts" pick up colors. These contacts don't work well as defaults because they're simply too light at the bottom of the color range. Plus, they're too big to deal with normal-sized contacts on top of them, which could be an issue down the line if you want to use other contacts. So they seem to be problematic as defaults as a whole. Sorry. As contacts they're probably a bit more versatile anyway. :}
