Brighton Beach Shacks

This lot was inspired by the "Brighton Beach Shacks" which can be found on Brighton Beach in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.

If you compare the pictures, you'll see there's two shacks I actually left out. The reason I did this, was because they all couldn't fit onto the lot. There's actually a ton of these shacks in real life and doing them all would be impossible.

You'll also notice with the second shack, it contains a window whereas the original doesn't. Again, reason being, I couldn't put in a "boarded up window" so that was the closest I could get.

In regards to the roof. Ideally, each roof should have been coloured to match the original. This wasn't possible, so I simply went for a light coloured roof as this was best advised.

In the real world, these shacks are privately owned and can sell for $30,000 to $50,000AUS (maybe even more now) and are used for people to change clothes and some have tea/coffee facilities, refrigerators and the like. Because of this, I debated on whether to make this a community or residential lot, but eventually chose residential. It was designed to go on the lot located at 455 Sunnyside Blvd because it backs directly onto the beach. The shacks are also built "backward" so they are facing the beach, as that's how they are meant to be. Each shack holds a "household room", like a kitchen, bedroom, bathroom etc. (See screenshots).

Furnished, the lot costs $50,977
Unfurnished $29,720

I hope you guys like it!

Quick Guide:

1. Click the file listed on the Files tab to download the file to your computer.
2. Extract the zip, rar, or 7z file.
2. Select the .sims3pack file you got from extracting.
3. Cut and paste it into your Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Downloads folder. If you do not have this folder yet, it is recommended that you open the game and then close it again so that this folder will be automatically created. Then you can place the .sims3pack into your Downloads folder.
5. Load the game's Launcher, and click on the Downloads tab. Select the house icon, find the lot in the list, and tick the box next to it. Then press the Install button below the list.
6. Wait for the installer to load, and it will install the lot to the game. You will get a message letting you know when it's done.
7. Run the game, and find your lot in Edit Town, in the premade lots bin.

Extracting from RAR, ZIP, or 7z: You will need a special program for this. For Windows, we recommend 7-Zip and for Mac OSX, we recommend Keka. Both are free and safe to use.

Are you aware that it's possible to put a bed in a community lot, and that your Sim will actually spend the night in it? I wasn't, until I build a Welcome Center for my Legacy Sims and put a bed in it.

I may try downloading these and turning the lot into a community lot just to see what happens.

This is gorgeous, and nice for several singles to live here. I did make a hotel by that Strand beach, maybe something like this would be nice on the other side. Great idea!

BRILLIANT! Being a person who spent a lot of time down Mornington way and Rosebud with the same beach shacks, this brought back many many memories.

Thank you for such an amazing lot.

A loving Melb gal.

This is awesome! I was just down at the Brighton beach boxes the other week, so it'll be very amusing to have them in my sims game. Great work.

I am glad you got this lot approved. It is a nice addition for a neighborhood. Like others, I will use it as a community lot. It will give a place for my flirty sims to woohoo on the beach!

These are really cute, but I would have chosen them to be community. But luckily I can just change that in my game. Thank you!
