In Sims 2 the grandparents didn’t age unless you played them, so I got in the habit of having them live with one of their children and help raise the grandchildren. Since they can age on their own in Sims 3 it is not necessary to do that but after trying it out I decided that I enjoy the extra help with the kids so I am doing several Generation Houses. They will be different styles since my Simmies have different personalities.

This house has 2 adult bedrooms, 2 child bedrooms and 2 guest bedrooms. Should you need more rooms the upstairs has an open to below area that could be closed in for another room. It could also have a fireplace in it as the chimney is along the back wall.

In this particular house the heir is an only child so of course the grandparents live with him. He has two teens that have taken over the basement as their domain.

The main floor has:
Great room
Study / Den
Kitchen with bar seating
Full bath
Formal Dinning room
Adult bedroom with outside access

The upstairs has:
Adult bedroom with balcony
2 child bedrooms
2 full baths

The basement has:
Rec room
Kitchenette with bar seating
2 guest bedrooms
(Now being used as weight room and music room)

The lot has:
Swimming pool
Garden seating
Room for 3 cars to park

EA Store items:
Eye of the Bolder – Free – statue here

Tomb Sled Sleeper - Free

Don't forget to Thank the creator after downloading! Use the Thanks button located above the screenshots above.
Quick Guide:

1. Click the file listed on the Files tab to download the file to your computer.
2. Extract the zip, rar, or 7z file.
2. Select the .sims3pack file you got from extracting.
3. Cut and paste it into your Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Downloads folder. If you do not have this folder yet, it is recommended that you open the game and then close it again so that this folder will be automatically created. Then you can place the .sims3pack into your Downloads folder.
5. Load the game's Launcher, and click on the Downloads tab. Select the house icon, find the lot in the list, and tick the box next to it. Then press the Install button below the list.
6. Wait for the installer to load, and it will install the lot to the game. You will get a message letting you know when it's done.
7. Run the game, and find your lot in Edit Town, in the premade lots bin.

Extracting from RAR, ZIP, or 7z: You will need a special program for this. For Windows, we recommend 7-Zip and for Mac OSX, we recommend Keka. Both are free and safe to use.

You know how rare this is? A house with a garage, basement and a floor plan which makes sense? I look at hundreds of homes every week, and most of them cannot touch this home. Good work!

This looks really great! When I get on my laptop, I am definitely downloading this. The only hard part is deciding who gets to move in... Thanks for sharing.

OMG! I love this sooo much. I'm all about the generations now, and this house is perfect (learning the benefits of having the grandparents move in, too). The ONLY thing is that I don't have the latest updates and what not because of mods that I have on here.

So this is reaaaally sad. But, really, gorgeous work C:

That is the way I play (love the grandparents free childcare), and I totally love that you made this house with the right amount of bedrooms and made it so realistic. I never find any houses I like this size, so I try to make them myself, but they come out WAY to large. So A million THANK YOUS for this perfect home!

I generally don't have grandparents living in my sims' homes, but this is a wonderful house either way. You did a really nice job.

I absolutely love your work. I love having the grandparents at home as well. I don't like to play lots larger than 40x40 either, so really, really adore your lots! Please keep up the amazing work.

Thanks everyone! I don't like bigger than 40 x 40 either. I try to do 30 x 30 if possible. I hope with Generations they add the 30 x 40 into the lot placement tool.
