Hidden Treasure (modern base-game no-CC house)

From the street, this small house looks like a nice modern one-story home, but it holds a surprise.

The entry way, living room, dining room, kitchen, study, 2 bedrooms and 2 1/2 bathrooms completely surround a hidden treasure: a fully enclosed courtyard with pool.

The house is flooded with light, since every room has windows to both the fully-landscaped yard and the sunny courtyard. Most corner rooms have windows on all four sides, giving the entire house the feeling of living outside, without having to worry about inclement weather.

When the weather is fine, though, the courtyard provides a safe protected place for the family to lounge and play. In addition, two sets of stairs provide access to the flat roof, almost doubling the available space. The roof can be used for a roof garden, spa, party area, or whatever your heart desires.

This home is small on the outside and big on the inside.

Note that some pets cannot navigate 2-click stairs, so this may not be the best lot if you have a family pet.

Basic Download and Install Instructions:

1. Download: Click the download link to save the .rar or .zip file(s) to your computer.

2. Extract the zip, rar, or 7z file.

3. Install: Double-click on the .sims2pack file to install its contents to your game. The files will automatically be installed to the proper location(s).
  • You may want to use the Sims2Pack Clean Installer instead of the game's installer, which will let you install sims and pets which may otherwise give errors about needing expansion packs. It also lets you choose what included content to install. Do NOT use Clean Installer to get around this error with lots and houses as that can cause your game to crash when attempting to use that lot. Get S2PCI here: Clean Installer Official Site.

Very nice! This house fits with style of my current neighborhoods and I see a lot of possibilities with it. Thanks

This style of house is pretty common in some parts of the world. Wish we had more of these in the States. I've always like the central outdoor gathering area. Thanks for sharing.

PS - Yay for natural light!

How did you get a fully-enclosed courtyard to be recognized as outside?

I created a 2-click high foundation which was open under the bathrooms at the back of the house, so that the courtyard is actually a part of the yard. Then, I raised the inside of the courtyard to full-height, so that the lighting would properly illuminate at night.

This lot was a by-product of our research on making traversable 0-click levels:
