Versatile Shelving: Half Shelves & In-between Uprights

This is a new mesh, and means that it's a brand new self contained object that usually does not require a specific Expansion pack (although this is possible depending on the type). It may have Recolours hosted on MTS - check below the description for more information.
This addition to the Versatile Shelving system allows you to build boxes at any of the 5 shelving levels. (Please note update to Versatile Shelving discussed below) It also includes 5 half-length shelves with 3 slots each to maximize design flexibility.

The objects included here will mix-match with the Versatile Shelves and the Glass Versatile Shelves I uploaded before.

When trying these out in my WA game I noticed that the shadows the shelves cast are very dark and cumulative. For this reason these shelves and uprights have no shadow. They do not cast a shadow on the floor and they do not cast a shadow on the wall. I have updated the Versatile Shelving post to include a download version of the original set which also has no shadows. You can find those here:

These shelves have been tested in my base game with no patches and my WA game which is patched through December. They have three recolorable parts. They will go up against a wall with no cheats. Each piece costs $10 and can be found in Buy/Surfaces/Miscellaneous.

They tile nicely and will not distort patterns applied to them:

Don't forget to Thank the creator after downloading! Use the Thanks button located above the screenshots above.
Quick Guide:

1. Click the file listed on the Files tab to download the file to your computer.
2. Extract the zip, rar, or 7z file. Now you will have either a .package or a .sims3pack file.

For Package files:

1. Cut and paste the file into your Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Mods\Packages folder. If you do not already have this folder, you should read the full guide to Package files first: Sims 3:Installing Package Fileswiki, so you can make sure your game is fully patched and you have the correct Resource.cfg file.
2. Run the game, and find your content where the creator said it would be (build mode, buy mode, Create-a-Sim, etc.).

For Sims3Pack files:

1. Cut and paste it into your Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Downloads folder. If you do not have this folder yet, it is recommended that you open the game and then close it again so that this folder will be automatically created. Then you can place the .sims3pack into your Downloads folder.
2. Load the game's Launcher, and click on the Downloads tab. Find the item in the list and tick the box beside it. Then press the Install button below the list.
3. Wait for the installer to load, and it will install the content to the game. You will get a message letting you know when it's done.
4. Run the game, and find your content where the creator said it would be (build mode, buy mode, Create-a-Sim, etc.).

Extracting from RAR, ZIP, or 7z: You will need a special program for this. For Windows, we recommend 7-Zip and for Mac OSX, we recommend Keka. Both are free and safe to use.

Thank you a million times! (Once for each piece of your shelving sets I've used in-game, LOL.)

I absolutely DO NOT run a house in the Sims without these shelves and uprights, and adding half-shelves is just frosting on the cake!

Thanks again Mel, I've got one big tip about alphas: Paint.NET. Look at the tips post in meshing I posted to find a link about it and the plugin you need to work with alphas easily. If you're still having issues come on over and's been awhile since you dropped in

Thanks orangemittens. I don't understand why EA does'nt put things like this in their basic games . No house should have to do without.

I love these shelves, they are wonderfu and I am sorry to bother you but I was wondering if there was a special cheat code I had to put in I can put stuff on the first 2 bottom shelves but nothing any higher then that? Don't know if it is because I am trying to use them in the basement.

I'm not sure about using them in a basement because I've never tried that. But I find that the easiest way to get things on the higher shelves is to look at them from above when placing things on them.

Or was is supposed to be like that?....

Hi Zessinna The upright shelf that runs between the first and second shelves is in the original set. I provided a link to that set in the main post and you can also get to it by clicking on my downloads page.

One of the most simple things in the game, but also one of the best downloads on this side. Thanks! A must have.

I've always loved your objects I got my game up to date (well, up to the "70s, 80s &90s" SP) and I was wondering is these are safe to download? Many of the shelf-like objects I re-downloaded had to be updated after the Pets EP, so I'm careful as I don't really know WHAT needed to be modified for Pets.
