You are AMAZING! You have put so much details, work, patience and love in each of your lots! And that's probably the reason why they always turn out to be beautiful! Thanks a lot sharing this!

Although I greatly enjoy each of the three other Gwrych series castles, and particularly the King Llewelyn's March "vacation home", I do believe this is your finest to date. I know you designed it with me in mind, and I will greatly appreciate it. In fact, I am treating this as your gift to me for our first wedding anniverary, next weekend. But I will not enter this castle until then, by which time my anniversary gift to you - you know of what I speak - shall also be ready. I hope it will be a fitting compliment to this magnificent work of art. :lovestruc

I love it too! Thank your hubby for letting his anniversary gift be shared by all.
Me thinks this could be great for Baron or perhaps a non-heir Prince. I love having all these possibilities!

Syberspunk's Dancing with Fitness and Body Skilling is also a great period appropriate way to turn every musical instrument (that someone else is playing) into an exercise machine. This patch also works as an attractive exercise alternative to "Work Out" when using Dr Pixel's Enchanted Harp or other radio replacement.

Thanks everyone!

Sorry about the late response. I've been buried beneath sci-fi wall creations for the past few days.

I can't wait for the "Mystic Collection" either. The reason I put it last is because it gives me something a bit different to look forward to. Of course, I have all these grand ideas for that set which exist more in mystic than medieval! I think I am thouroughly versed in Welsh-styled medieval castles now. I keep fighting the urge to add elements of fantasy to these castles, but I want to stay true to the time and style of Welsh Castles...So, playing with fantasy like medieval creations should prove to be a nice break from the "medieval normal".

I'm surprised when someone actually follows the inspiration links! Yeah...I did quite a bit of research on the Welsh Castles after reading about Gwrych Castle. So 3 lots became a kingdom! I hope you are able to enjoy them as we in this house do (me mainly watching David's medieval Sims prancing about as he uses them to test objects he's creating and to play when he thinks I'm not looking). It's great to be transported!

Thank you for taking an interest in this collection!

Glad you like! Do enjoy the lot.

David
While I love you madly, you are such a tease. I think everyone will love your Simtastic anniversary gift to me...so get it finished already so we can see it in action!

I appreciate your comments. It's more work uploading than creating...but you know this. But in the end it's worth it!

Chicklet
Yeah I suspect having a 4th Gwrych Castle to play around in is perfect for all Sim story writers! Possibilities indeed! I would tell you to enjoy the castle, but I "know" you will more than enjoy it. Have fun planning little secret trysts in the passageways. Good stuff for Grunwald.

Master builder and artist? Yeah...I was talking with David this morning about how Simming fills much of my creative angst. I really love architecture, especially in relationship to history. Building Sim lots really is artistry and in that I'm not alone.

Well...I'm off to spend a bit more time creating wall textures...Initially, I thought I would create textures for a day or 2, but I decided to take a break from building lots for much of October. But Gwrych is still top priority!

Thanks jbeach!

While I do know "what" the Simtastic anniversary present is...I've been sworn to secrecy...but if David finishes it before our anniversary this weekend (which is highly LIKELY...but not certain...Testing...Retesting and Fine Tuning Phase)...I think it be a pleasant addition to Sim households...especially medieval ones. It's quite clever really.

Yeah...It is great to be with someone who "appreciates" this Simming obsession (among other things)! Sometimes we sit in my Tower Room, David in my comfy chair on his laptop and me at my desk working simultaneously on our little Sim projects. It's great! Of course, we get a kick out of times that Simming things are insane...where you are dreaming of solutions to your Sim problems! Luckily, real life interjects....

Speaking of which...I'm going to my first "genuine" Canadian Art Museum. We shall have a wondrous Anniversary! I'm excited. I love our little adventures.

Time for the final episodes of Dr. Who..with David Tennant! Watching all things Sci-fi is another shared interest! ...Ta ta for now!

I hope it isn't too late to wish you Happy Anniversary. So, which Canadian Art Museum may I ask? Love the Baron's Castle .... and can't wait to see the rest of the barony lots that he "bleeds dry" (hehehe).

As everyone can see...I've updated this castle. David finally got around to playing about in the castle once he finished his Special Simmish Anniversary Present. So...the castle has been "updated" and is probably as perfect as perfect can be now!

Walter,
Actually the anniversary is today (October 17)...so Thank you for your well wishes! So far it's been a wonderful day of lazing about in bed chatting, breakfast and a movie, etc.! Our trip to the District Museum and the Art Gallery in Nanaimo have been postponed until our upcoming trip in a couple of weeks to Victoria due to sickness. But today we are both feeling great and so we shall spend time loving and playing and (yes) doing a few Simmy things.

By the way jbeach,
The Special SIMMISH anniversary present has been uploaded. We were hoping it would post today because it is the official anniversary day. It's a very neat upload and while it was initiated for the "medieval" it is universal and very versatile. While I won't say what it is, I will say that your Simmies get to have a bit more free time as a result!

Back to the Sistine Chapel with me. Still mesmerized by the walls I'm creating. Who needs an art museum, when I'm creating art with these Sistine Chapel textures. It's a brilliant collection of art by several Master Artists. I love it! I will get to the RL museums in a couple of weeks anyway!

what kind of objects would you reccomend for entertainment? Like instead of installing a modern tv in this awesome castle, what else is there to entertain them?

Hi again rockergal!

Yes. All the furnishings and decorations in the snapshot do come with the castle, but as I said in another comment, it's probably a good idea to set your downloads aside and figure out how things work in the game first. It will make things a LOT easier.

Again...Go here:
Downloading Tips
Don't let the title at the top of the page throw you off. It's all meant in good fun. It will be most helpful in walking you through how things work in the game and where things go.

Back to your questions. Nothing I say below will help you much until you use the above link. Once you have...read on.

Click on the "Download" Tab on this post (top of the post or to the bottom of the post). There are 2 files there. If you read the information below each file it tells you that you need both zips...one contains the house with most of the objects and the other file contains the textures (walls, floor, terrain paints) and files that won't zip in Sims 2 Packs. If you click on the "Installation" Tab, it will let you know where to put the files. Basically, you use the Sims 2 Clean Pack Installer to install the lot (which includes most of the objects) and then you will place the stuff in the "Additionals" zip in your Sims 2 Download Folder.

As for your 2nd question...Everything you need is there...There are 2 televisions in this lot I do believe...1 is a crystal ball tv and the other is a picture frame tv. There are also radios that are harps and/or music boxes. The best thing to do is to explore the lot by clicking on everything and seeing what menus things bring up. There is too much in the lot to list everything! So explore...most of what you need for your Simmies is included.

Hopefully, you will figure everything out soon and be able to enjoy the castle.

Happy Simming!
