A classic ranch style home, Shady Elms is the perfect home for the busy, bustling family who enjoys country and charm. The grounds house a working garden, barn with dual stables, horse paddock, play area for children and a large (swimmable) pond.

This house was built for a legacy style family. It has more than enough room for a family spanning over multiple generations. The mudroom off the kitchen provides direct access to the 2 car garage and apartment above it, along with the small work spaces in the basement. The apartment above the garage is perfect for the grandparents. The small space boasts the perfect amount of room for two, even featuring a personal dinette area. Want to eat breakfast at 0400 in your undies? No problem!

The first floor has both a living room and study along with a large kitchen and formal dining room which seats 8. The master suite is on the first floor and includes both a bath and nursery. The nursery has been decorated in a jungle/giraffe theme, neutral for whatever gender your next bundle of joy may be. An extra guest bedroom on the second floor is perfect for visitors or newlyweds that are staying in the house for awhile.

Each children's room offers a distinct style. The room for the girl children is decorated in classic Lilly Pulitzer lime and pink. The boys' room is done in a nautical/pirate theme. The Jack and Jill bathroom provides access to both children rooms. Both teen rooms are located in the attic. What teen wouldn't want to be as far away from their parents as possible? The girls have a rustic yet subtle Parisian charm while the boys enjoy country simplicity and sports.

Store Content Used (None Included):
Regarding Store Content:
As mentioned, none is included. None is particularly necessary to keep the house as is. Everything can be replaced if you so choose, quite easily. The holiday decor is used in the attic to simulate "storage space" in the non-holiday seasons so if you choose not to use it, you will free up some attic space.

Don't forget to Thank the creator after downloading! Use the Thanks button located above the screenshots above.
Quick Guide:

1. Click the file listed on the Files tab to download the file to your computer.
2. Extract the zip, rar, or 7z file.
2. Select the .sims3pack file you got from extracting.
3. Cut and paste it into your Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Downloads folder. If you do not have this folder yet, it is recommended that you open the game and then close it again so that this folder will be automatically created. Then you can place the .sims3pack into your Downloads folder.
5. Load the game's Launcher, and click on the Downloads tab. Select the house icon, find the lot in the list, and tick the box next to it. Then press the Install button below the list.
6. Wait for the installer to load, and it will install the lot to the game. You will get a message letting you know when it's done.
7. Run the game, and find your lot in Edit Town, in the premade lots bin.

Extracting from RAR, ZIP, or 7z: You will need a special program for this. For Windows, we recommend 7-Zip and for Mac OSX, we recommend Keka. Both are free and safe to use.

Love the colours and I must ask Miss Roxor about that roof (looks for link to tutorial). A bit big for my play style but a pleasure to look at. Thank you.

Wow, this is a true family home. What a great creation. Sims must love it to live in that place. I love all the little details of this house. Also, the floorplan, the colours... everything is great.

I love your house but the sims can not use the attic. If they are going upstairs the spiral staircase to the attic they can not go downstairs anymore. It would be great if you could fix it. Thanks.

Tootsie - I tested this house myself and my sims could go both up and down the stairs. Do you know what patch you have? Also, what game combination do you have? I want to say I read somewhere about some issue regarding spiral stairs that causes exactly your issue.

Chaolan - Yes, it is a large house. It is meant to be for a lot of sims. Considering the house itself is a small portion of the lot size, I don't think it's too bad. But you don't have to download.

Really Great work!! A lot of nice detailing, the floor plan is wonderfully complex!!
The swimable pond in ingenious!!!!! Except I had top add a ladder, my sims would swim and refuse to get out until they drown XD But other than that and a stair issue that leads to the attic, not problems! very nice detailing! my sims will never ever move out of this home, its gonna be held by generation after generation!
Thanks!

So, I've been a member of Mod The Sims for years, and I have yet to post a comment about how wonderful some creations are. I wanted you to receive my first ever glowing review! The house is beautiful beyond words, and the layout is to die for. I can only wish that some day I might be as talented as you and create such an amazing piece of art. I own each Sims game (1, 2 & 3), and all their expansion and stuff pack, so I've been playing for quite a few years. I still have yet to get the hang of designing the perfect house :-/ But I just wanted to say, "Bravo!" and keep creating! You are a wonderful designer! :-)

I have the same issue. My sims can go up but not down the staircase into the attic. They're usually nearly dead by the time I find them..

I have base, World Adventures, Late Night, Ambitions, Generations, and Pets. I also have High End Loft and Master Suite stuff packs. Running on the very latest patch.

Otherwise, brilliant house!

EDIT: Figured it out. I removed the wall and door separating the stairs from the hallway, moved around the junk in the attic so none of it was overlapping the stairs, and moved the light in the staircase to just in front of the door. Spiral stairs now work both ways.

Ok, forget my last comment, overcame the problem of the lot too large, the house is beautiful, well organized and lends itself to a lot of stories! <3
Really compliments!! but learn to listen to critics and not to respond "But you do not have to download" my comment was just a suggestion for the next job

p.s. sorry for my english.
