This is a new mesh, and means that it's a brand new self contained object that usually does not require a specific Expansion pack (although this is possible depending on the type). It may have Recolours hosted on MTS - check below the description for more information.
Picked Upload! This is a picked upload! It showcases some of the best talent and creativity available on MTS and in the community.
Edit (July 19): Uploaded a new file that really isn't available for townies. D'oh! Many thanks to Iggysaurus for pointing that out to me!

While fumbling around and making a sim, I realized that I wanted a top for him that didn't exist. I knew there were lots of vests out there, but most of them had sleeves rolled to the forearm. I needed something with sleeves rolled to the biceps. After finally feeling my way around frankenmeshing, I now have a shirt to share with all of you! Dress it up, dress it down ... make it as formal or informal as your sims need!

This top is a combination of the "hotel clerk" torso from Island Paradise and sleeves from a base game shirt. You do not need Island Paradise installed for this shirt to show in your game, but you will have to be patched to patch level 1.55.

Shirt and vest are mapped according to their original Maxis textures, so they don't entirely line up at the sleeves. Damn it, Jim, I'm a mesher, not a texturer ... er! 3 channels, all morphs included. Currently only available for YA and Adult sims, but I will work on a version for Elders shortly.

Shirt has been tested in-game and works well with animations. Enabled for everyday and formal, not enabled for random, so you won't see townies wearing it. Tell them fools to get their own style!

Polygon Counts:
LOD1 -- 3256 polygons, 2120 vertices
LOD2 -- 1624 polygons, 1232 vertices
LOD3 -- 893 polygons, 803 vertices

Additional Credits:
Cocomama, for the tutorial on combining meshes that made me think I could do this to begin with
Buckley, for pointing out a very obvious error that I was making
And everyone in CFF and #create channel. You guys rock!

Age: Young Adult Adult
Gender: Male
Clothing Type: Everyday Formal
Clothing Style: Modern
Other Type: Not Applicable
Maxis Flags: Not Applicable
Outfit Type: Top

You must have the expansion or stuff packs listed below installed to use this custom content. Please see the post text for any exceptions.

Don't forget to Thank the creator after downloading! Use the Thanks button located above the screenshots above.
Quick Guide:

1. Click the file listed on the Files tab to download the file to your computer.
2. Extract the zip, rar, or 7z file. Now you will have either a .package or a .sims3pack file.

For Package files:

1. Cut and paste the file into your Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Mods\Packages folder. If you do not already have this folder, you should read the full guide to Package files first: Sims 3:Installing Package Fileswiki, so you can make sure your game is fully patched and you have the correct Resource.cfg file.
2. Run the game, and find your content where the creator said it would be (build mode, buy mode, Create-a-Sim, etc.).

For Sims3Pack files:

1. Cut and paste it into your Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Downloads folder. If you do not have this folder yet, it is recommended that you open the game and then close it again so that this folder will be automatically created. Then you can place the .sims3pack into your Downloads folder.
2. Load the game's Launcher, and click on the Downloads tab. Find the item in the list and tick the box beside it. Then press the Install button below the list.
3. Wait for the installer to load, and it will install the content to the game. You will get a message letting you know when it's done.
4. Run the game, and find your content where the creator said it would be (build mode, buy mode, Create-a-Sim, etc.).

Extracting from RAR, ZIP, or 7z: You will need a special program for this. For Windows, we recommend 7-Zip and for Mac OSX, we recommend Keka. Both are free and safe to use.

Hi, I'm new to this. I have the latest patch, and I made the mod folders with the packages folders. I extracted this file I've downloaded into that, but I don't see it in the game. Am I doing something wrong? :/ Please help!!

I don't mind that the sleeves don't exactly line up, I think it gives it a nice "layered" quality!

Splendid! Just goes the show, that keeping it simple is a winner everytime I've been looking for the same thing forever, so thank you!

PS: Your little wonder here made me think of a showtime shirt that's driving me crazy. I love it, it looks so cool, but then the sleeves go spoil it all. I'm sorry if I'm overstepping here, but I'm not familiar enough with the community to know, where to put such "requests". And it's not really a request - more of a "hey, does anyone feel like fixing this ". So apologies in advance. Here's the shirt:

Oh, shoot. I bet I forgot to fix that on the upload after borking my original final file. LOL.

I'll re-upload it.

Are you possibly missing your resource.cfg file, in the Mods folder?

Obviously the pic in my previous post didn't work. Let's try this then - https://www.dropbox.com/s/ztscpetq75qwpyf/clothes.jpg
Why would you make such a silly sleeve length on such a nice top... *sigh*

Hey there,

Have you tried deleting your CACHE files? I know I never have new clothes show up in my game unless I also do this.

MyDocs/EAGames/Sims 3/...now scroll down and get rid of CASParts, etc...I think the only one I don't delete is UserPresets. They are all PACKAGE files. Should be about four of them.

I love this!

But I'm really curious as to why everyone seems to disable their cc for random. Why isn't it random? Is there some performance issue?

I'd love to see this on my townies!

I couldn't tell you why other people do it, but I did it because my game seems to be programmed to find the absolute WORST possible combo of tops and bottoms to let townies wear. Odds are I'd see paparazzi all over town in no time wearing this top with booty shorts and cowboy boots.
