Very interesting set up, Jo. I'm never into grunge so prefer the Dream version.

I know you don't like grunge. I do sometimes, depending on the situation. Brandi's trailer seemed perfect for both.

LOVE the dream version. I like to remodel the Maxis houses myself, but I haven't gone to the trailers yet; this is a great idea and I'll definitely implement some of this when the current sims move out.

I like the grunge version, because it feels more fitting for the setting. If they are supposed to be poor and Brandi overwhelmed with more than she can handle, that's how I'd picture the house ending up like. If I ever play Pleasantview, I'll be sure to come grab it and move them to it instead of the original

This looks great, Jo! I love your story - and the 2 possibilities. I haven't played the Brokes yet - I think I'll do them next Thanks for the inspiration!

Thanks guys. :D

Cat, glad you like my little bit of story.

I figured two versions would suit how different people liked to play the family.

I love both of these! They are quite different from my own makeover, I hadn't even though of changing the layout like you did with two bedrooms across in the back. Very clever.

Thanks Lauri

Thanks Phae. I haven't seen yours, although I did look through your page here. It's always interesting how given the same shape how many versions people can come up with.

Jo, I haven't posted mine up anywhere yet. I'm still in the process of rescuing my Pleasantview. I grabbed a quick screenie of the house now.

Dustin and Angela and their triplet toddler girls live here now. Dustin is a low level criminal, and Angie is a stay at home mom, her parents kicked her out of their house when they found out she was pregnant with *his* baby. I love this family, Brandi's entire brood is just drama. Beau turned out to be my first not-player-directed gay sim, and somehow he and his husband ended up in an apartment building with 4 other bleach blonde flaming gay pirates (I swear I had my clothing mods in and it still happened!) I've caught both Beau and his hubby in the communal hot tub with the neighbors and then some. Skip married my Orphan Scholarship challenge girl and she's just creepy from having been raised by ghosts. She's the town medium and is besties with Grimmy. They have a baby girl (Emma and Skip, not Grimmy). Brandi got remarried and has two teen boys about to head to college, one of them is seriously into star gazing and has gotten himself abducted already. Then there are two girls and they are still too young to be doing anything interesting much on their own, but I'm sure I've not seen the end of the trouble with this family.

That's some family.

Good going fitting triplets in there and very different to my lay out. Hope you get your game off life support soon!

Thanks jo, I hope so too, but it's been back-burned since the holidays. I'm concerned what I'll have to do to that poor trailer when they become kids and teens. Cribs are smaller than beds after all! I see you bumped it out a bit to make yours wider. Very clever

No, not bumped out at all, unless you mean the rooms. the corridor is originally 3 tiles wide so I made it 2 wide. The only thing I changed structurally on the outside was add 2 extra tiles to the front porch in case it gave routing troubles.

Weird, yours is 7 across and mine is 6.

Oh, I know what happened! The original *is* 7, but all the other trailers on that street are 6 (I googled) so I must have cut mine down to match at some point. Don't mind me, always making things harder on myself for usually no good reason...

I love both versions Exactly what I look for in my houses - practical and with character (and no CC is a bonus!).

I'm not going to download it, mostly because I like to redo it myself WHILE I am playing the family, but this is quite nice (the dream version)! Smart layout!! I usually stuff the toddler in with his big brother (who always ends up being a little child from heaven in my game) and put half of Brandy's room into a nursery for the new baby- she has to learn to share!!

These are great. I'm planning on using the nightmare version with a messy sim in my current neighbourhood, and I'd like to put the renovated version somewhere but don't have a corner for it yet. The nightmare version will, over the course of the messy sim's life, get worse. After he dies the lot will become a messy house challenge, with the goal of at least matching your lovely renovated version.
