Picked Upload! This is a picked upload! It showcases some of the best talent and creativity available on MTS and in the community.
I've been working on this on and off for months in between residential builds, but when I saw my next upload would be my 50th I decided to finish this to celebrate: the I Sea You Aquarium and Aviary! There are several different themed tanks based on what's swimming inside, and Small Birds and Large Birds each have their own room. Aside from the aquatic and avian exhibits, there are rooms devoted to rodents, snakes, turtles, lizards, and insects. The Townies will autonomously feed and clean the cages and terrariums, but I've included a few Bonehildas in the sub-basement in case you need extra help. There's a party room on the main floor (the lot is set to "Big Park" so you can throw parties there) and a bistro upstairs if your Sims get hungry during their visit. There is also a private office on the third floor in case your Sim wishes to purchase the lot and needs a spot to nap or play video games! All appliances have been upgraded to Unbreakable so your Bonehildas will come in handy here too keeping them clean. The Barrier to Entry doors are set to exclude cats and dogs to keep the animals inside safe.

There is heavy use of fog emitters to create the aquarium effects, but there are no spawners and the lot is only 30X30. CC-free and Custard-checked, although items from some EPs, SPs and the Store are used. If you don't own the items listed below, the game will replace them with comparable items. (Check out the list to see what was used where. You still may be able to download even if you're missing some things.)

Don't forget to Thank the creator after downloading! Use the Thanks button located above the screenshots above.
Quick Guide:

1. Click the file listed on the Files tab to download the file to your computer.
2. Extract the zip, rar, or 7z file.
2. Select the .sims3pack file you got from extracting.
3. Cut and paste it into your Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Downloads folder. If you do not have this folder yet, it is recommended that you open the game and then close it again so that this folder will be automatically created. Then you can place the .sims3pack into your Downloads folder.
5. Load the game's Launcher, and click on the Downloads tab. Select the house icon, find the lot in the list, and tick the box next to it. Then press the Install button below the list.
6. Wait for the installer to load, and it will install the lot to the game. You will get a message letting you know when it's done.
7. Run the game, and find your lot in Edit Town, in the premade lots bin.

Extracting from RAR, ZIP, or 7z: You will need a special program for this. For Windows, we recommend 7-Zip and for Mac OSX, we recommend Keka. Both are free and safe to use.

OMG those exhibits! My jaws dropped. The Egypt exhibit... the Flooded Tomb exhibit... I'm dead. Too bad I can't enjoy them in my game without 3 EPs that I don't have... I never felt the need for the Pets EP for example, but surely, if it has any value then it is this, using it to build aquarium and aviary community lots, oh my. Beautiful displays.

Thanks guys...I figured it probably wouldn't get a lot of downloads because I used a lot of EPs and such, but it was more a personal challenge to see if I could do it. lol

Wow, thats amazing, but I don't have the Island Paradise EP, and i'm not sure if those aquariums will be fine (just without some species from the EP i dont have). It would be great if you made a list of gameplay-important expansion packs. It's obvoious that Pets and World Adventures are essential because of the species used, and you posted the used decos, not the species, but I'm not sure if the aqarium-roooms could work without Island Paradise.
Also, how about your "credits" statement? If i felt like adding there a room for some exotic cats, or a pen for zebras, wolves or whatever (i guess i could share it as inhabited lot with them if I used one human sim the "director of the zoo" and make them a family wthh him), can I share it? With the credits, of course. On Mod The Sims only? On other free sites? On the Exchange? Im asking "just in case I felt like playing if it", im not sure if this would work without Island Paradise expansion pack.

This is just brilliant work. I looked through all the preview photos and now I'm acutely homesick for Monterey (more specifically, the world class aquarium). You've done an amazing job, and your attention to detail in curating the collection is better than a lot of real world aquariums and zoos. I'd visit yours over many others any day, and I'm glad my sims will get the chance. Thank you so much.
