Chain Restaurant

The last of the date locations I felt moved to build for Land Grant University, the Chain Restaurant is really more the sort of place a student might take an outing full of relatives than a date. With darts, chess, and the bar and barista there'll be plenty of sedate fun for the family when not eating, and though the couches might tempt someone to makeout, at least no one will be rocking a photobooth.

The 3x3 lot is a tad on the large side for a restaurant, but is in harmony with the size of other community lots on the campus. The lot is meant to emulate one of those national chains of sitdown restaurants with large footprints and pretensions to luxury, whose main virtue is consistency. A lot of Maxis content aims for the same spot, so I didn't even miss custom content building it. On LGU, the logical place for it would be opposite the Big Box retail outlet or College Bluff Shopping Center, on the road entering campus. In other neighborhoods, it's likely to grow up overnight on any major commercial street or on the edges of new residential areas, where land prices haven't risen high enough to make its size uneconomical.

Like the other LGU date venues, it was built in AGS with University and Night Life only. Unlike them, it is clean, well-lit, and not remotely funky.

Lot Size: 3x3
Lot Price (furnished): $142,099

Basic Download and Install Instructions:

1. Download: Click the download link to save the .rar or .zip file(s) to your computer.

2. Extract the zip, rar, or 7z file.

3. Install: Double-click on the .sims2pack file to install its contents to your game. The files will automatically be installed to the proper location(s).
  • You may want to use the Sims2Pack Clean Installer instead of the game's installer, which will let you install sims and pets which may otherwise give errors about needing expansion packs. It also lets you choose what included content to install. Do NOT use Clean Installer to get around this error with lots and houses as that can cause your game to crash when attempting to use that lot. Get S2PCI here: Clean Installer Official Site.

This is great! I would never think to use the half-walls outside, but it's very effective!
